Glad my friends took me here! It's very easy to miss this place. Right off of Metropolitan Avenue down 88th Street. If you didn't know about it already, you definitely wouldn't know it's there. The Q54 is just a few steps away. The space is HUGE! Really massive pub with a charming feel. They have different live music acts there most weekends. Check their social media to see who is playing in advance. Service is extremely attentive and friendly. The actual bar wraps around the front in a U shape. Plenty of room anywhere you go. So spacious. The music acts have a dedicated space on the left side when you first enter. Lots of booth and table seating in the front. The back was so immense. Lots of t.v.'s all over playing sports. You can tell lots of locals and regulars patronize this pub. Thr zucchini and mozzarella sticks were good. Most likely frozen but they were still yummy. For my entree I had the fish and chips for $20. The tartar sauce and batter on the fish was delicious. The lettuce and tomato on the plate was just an afterthought. The fries were kind of dry, but I loved that they gave me malt vinegar to go with them. They know what they're doing! They offer a wide variety of dishes. They have a sandwich board that they bring around to every table with the daily specials written on it. I used to come here often in the late 1980's early 1990's when it was known as Cooper's Ale House. Loved those 10 cent wing nights. Anyway, I'm old. It seems the only thing that's changed is the name. The decor is the same as it was over 33 years ago. In fact, some of the tables still have the old English font style "C" emblem on them. Anyway, my Guiness pint(s) were on point, my better half found her Moscow Mule refreshing, the pork dumplings and wings were good, but the absolute BOMB was the Yer Man Burger. Made with lamb and beef and served with melted mozzarella cheese on a hoagie bun, with lettuce, tomatoes, raw onion, fries, cole slaw and a pickle, it was delicious. Highly recommend. read more

What a bad experience we had. My wife ordered the shell steak which she ordered well done. It came out very rare so we asked the waitress if they can throw it back on the grill and cook it to the correct temperature. The waitress brought back her plate that had the mixed veggies and potatoes. When the steak was brought back, it was again still rare and not well done like we had asked. At that time, I was done eating my dinner so we asked the waitress just to take that steak dinner off the bill. When we got our bill we looked and realized that while the steak was taken off, they still charged us for the veggies and the potatoes. I can't believe they messed up our dinner and had the nerve to charge us for the items that came on the plate of the same meal. That is wrong and we have never seen this happen anywhere, ever. They did not even offer a free round of drinks or dessert for any sort of compensation. We will never be going back there. read more

Definitely my go to place for sports/drinks and food. This is always my last stop before heading home after going to the Giants games during football season. The Pub is always inviting and always finds a place for me and my friends to sit. One of my favorite foods to get here is their wings and bison burgers (definitely a must). I do have a drink or two but I always ask Caitlin (who is always nice) what's on the draft as she always pairs my drinks with what I order from the kitchen. Stopped in this place many years ago after my older sibling used to come here when it was a bowling alley and half a bar it was turned into coppers which became very popular and now it it's yermans. When I took up a spot at the bar this past Sunday I was mentally kicking myself. Why has it taken me so long to stop into Yer Man's for some Sunday football? The televisions were well placed so any seat in the bar seemed to have unobstructed, non neck cramp positioning. The menu read well enough for me to come back for some non beer finger food and a few plates whisked past me that looked terrific. The happy hour wings special which are offered some weekdays in addition to Sunday have timers on the point of sale system, so be sure to get your order in before the cutoff. My order was placed five minutes to five and was not in time, (my fault) so I had to pay the full cost. At the throwback price of thirty five cents each any decent wing could suffice for the price if only for basic sustenance. But when you are served up perfectly cooked wings, moist and jucey with a ample amount of sauces to dress up and spice up your wing, missing timers are merely an afterthought at most. Yer Man's serves up such a wonderful blue cheese for your dipping needs. So chunky and dense. The devil is in the details. Great typical pub menu with some nice surprises. The Spicy Chicken sandwich has an Aoli that will satisfy. The atmosphere is comfortable. The taps are clean, and, a nice selection awaits-always in the appropriate glass for the country of origin. Not a lot of places you can get a BOOT of HB, but Yer Man's is the MAN when it comes to a great dinner or drink experience. they most certainly need to work hard on bringing some more ppl in here. this is located at a very quiet street in Glendale. parking around here is sweet and easy to find, however there is no private spots it is all street parking. we came in for a karaoke night with friends and quickly as we came in i realized that they have some major changes and a road ahead of them if they want to keep their doors open. this is very spacious spot, they have plenty if bar and table sitting, it is a very legit Irish pub, one of those that you would find some drinks that are from Ireland and nowhere else you may find. the drinks and food are not expensive so this is a nice night out in budget and you will ahve fun. now lets go to not so good. as we walked in the smell was overwhelmingly horrible, they have something that is rotting in there by the entrance, after a while you will get used to it. it is not quite a stink stink but it is a very weird and bothersome smell. the restrooms are crying for help they are dated and very badly kept. this is a cozy experience as far a for a karaoke cause there was not that many ppl there so once we were about to leave the spot i felt like i already knew everyone in there, this can be a good or a real bad thing. we ordered some mozzarella sticks, i was torn, as the breading outside the cheese was really yummy and garlic like but at the same time it tasted a bit old and peculiar, so i would not trust their kitchen again. either way, i would never have stayed here as long as i stayed if it was not for the event i was attending. read more

I'm a sucker for Irish pubs. Yer Man's is the kind of place I've always wanted. When I first walked in- I felt at home right away. So many times I've walked into a local bar and have instantly felt unwelcome. That's the total opposite of this spot. The bar is spacious and everyone is smiling. I'm all for dive bars once in a while, but my comfort zone is a big bar. My friends and I came here on a Sunday night, specifically for karaoke. It was awesome. There's no charge to put in a song and the guy running it was cool beans. The crowd at the bar was mixed- young and old- but everyone was very supportive of each other singing. The bar also has a dedicated darts playing area, two back rooms, and the main horseshoe shaped bar that spans two large areas. Also- my personal favorite- they've got both Mets and Yankees memorabilia around AND seats from both Shea and Yankee stadium! This is in addition to a lot of kitschy decor and a bunch of TVs playing sports channels. I can't wait to watch a Mets game here. Service was great with everyone being friendly all around. And the prices were pretty good- for a tab of 6 beers it was around $30. I didn't try any food when I went but my friends did and it all looked good. Fun Fact- the TV show King of Queens was shot here! Bottom line- well priced, friendly folks, good times. Yer Man's is officially my favorite Queens bar. read more

I came here with a friends and the only good thing I have to say about this place is the appetizers that were on the daily special were delicious. The 2 drinks I had were far from special and it would have been better that I save my money and stick with water. My main course was the Shepard's pie and I should I have skipped this also. The presentation was neither good or bad but under the potatoes the ground beef was low quality and heavy on the grease. All in all everything but the appetizers was a waste of time and money. But my experience thus far had told me all i need to know, about how a true Irish bar restaurant is owned and managed. I say "Owned" because of the neighborly and internal civic works of JIMMY the owner. This is truly a man of kindness, and a man who sees beyond the almighty dollar. I learn of these stories by way of the bartenders & my boyfriend and fellow yelper Glenn V. , while sitting in front of my 36 OZ porterhouse steak. This piece of choice meat is tender and juicy to a level i find hard to express, so ill just say this...if there's a better steak in Forest hills, Rego Park, Elmhurst, Middle Village & Kew Gardens please let me know. I've been here during the day once and it was decent enough for a local bar. The wings were good too. But I went there with my husband on a Saturday night, and it was terrible. It was every wanna-be hillbilly from Glendale in the place. There were obnoxious girls behind us yelling "Yeeeeeeeeeeerrrrr! before every shot and then taking selfies while pushing us everytime. The bartender kept serving them even though they could barely stand. Then I saw the "Trump" sticker behind the bar. I closed my tab immediately and left. Never supporting this bar again, and I have no desire to mingle with the dipshits there. That sticker explained this crowd perfectly. You want to find the worst Glendale has to offer? I definitely won't be rushing back here to eat. The other night we came here to watch the Islanders game... We sat at the bar and ordered some food. I ordered the lobster bisque and cheese quesadilla and washed it down with water. The food was okay at most. But it got worse come 5 AM when I felt sick. I woke up with the worst stomach pain ever and ran to the bathroom. I like to think that I have a strong stomach and foods don't tend to bother me, but there was something about the food that wasn't right. Been here a few times (not by choice obviously). Food is mediocre across the board. Wings are the standout here... specifically the Insanity wings which are verrrrry hot and delicious. Salads are large. The chopped chicken salad was an odd combination of vegetables... celery, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, broccoli, mushrooms... It was just all over the place. Chicken pot pie was by far the worst pot pie I've ever had in my life. Chicken pot pie is something I cook frequently at home (and if I do say so myself, it's pretty damn good!), so I know a good chicken pot pie when I see (eat) one. I cannot even describe how disgusting this was. Oversalted, the puff pastry was oddly salty, and filled with what can only be described as fake cheese and fake chicken. I ate less than 1/3 of the pot pie. Waitresses are across the board slow with service. I say this having been here four different times that I can remember and having similar experiences every time. Drinks - good joint for beer, not so much for wine. They don't have a pinot noir or a chardonnay. Umm...what do you have then? Yer Mans is a great place to go , particularly for baby boomers , as you walk in front door steer to the left this is the bar us more mature people tend to go, the right is louder and younger , but it is a fun place to hang . I've been going to Yerman's for a very long time - I was a weekend regular back in the days when it was still on Metropolitan. Nowadays, I go very sporadically - special occasions and the such. Last night was one of those nights and we were there for a friend's birthday. The bartenders were super attentive and on top of buy backs, so I can't give this place one star but the "bouncers" or whoever those guys are, make this place suck. A lot. It all started when we myself and two friends went outside for some air and smokes. We were having a casual conversation and not being at all loud when one of the bouncers came outside to tell us that we had to really keep it down. Keep it down? As in-not talk? We kinda rolled our eyes and went back inside. When last call came around, we were practically forced out of the bar, all while being told to be quiet outside. Gone are the days of Yermans when you could sit around and sip your last drink while the bartenders started closing out. My boyfriend and his two friends were standing outside, getting air and not even IN FRONT of the bar (walked to the other corner) and were told they could not stand...on the street. Unfortunately, about 5 of us were stuck waiting for a cab that was running late. We weren't allowed to wait inside (even in the vestibule), and when we went outside, the bouncers AGAIN told us we needed to leave ASAP and not stand out front. At one point I actually asked the man "Where would you like us to go?? We can't be inside OR on the sidewalk...so...what options are there?" To sum it all up, they were rude and completely unreasonable. We didn't have any belligerent drunks in our party and no one was out of hand, yelling, or anything of the sort.
