Once a year, my high school buddies and I descend on Connolly's, and it's always a great time with great service, and surprisingly great food. Like I said, this is the place for the reunion. I'm not huge on this type of bar. Not that I don't like them, it's just not my usual go-to. That said, I honestly look forward to coming here every single year. The staff is great, the beer selection is perfect and the food isn't just your typical bar offerings. Sure, you can get wings and mozz sticks, but even the salads are excellent. I can't say that I'd recommend the salad at most bars, but Connolly's is the exception. Ok, I didn't have the salad, but my wife did and she was impressed. Aside from all this, the ambiance is good, the vibe is good, and it's just comfortable. None of the usual busted chairs or sticky table tops. Connolly's Corner is a reliably high quality restaurant & pub. It can be loud depending on the time, especially if you're seated near the bar. Service is attentive, friendly & fast enough. They cook their burgers exactly as requested: we had one medium & one well done with both cooked spot-on. They have a great selection of customization for their burgers. Really nice place to grab a bite or catch up with friends - the atmosphere and staff is lively and friendly. Had the fish and chips and it was pretty good but the fish was very oily for my taste. The fries were good and the fried garlic mushrooms appetizer was pretty good as well. The coleslaw was delicious . My daughter loved her side of coleslaw and also her main of shrimp scampi. The shrimp looked huge! The dessert she had was very yummy it was a strawberry banana crepe. Loved the separate dessert menu they have some good looking desserts! The My Pepsi was watery and just didn't taste like a real pepsi. They also serve coffee with half and half which was pretty good. It was a huge mug that I got. Asked if I needed refills on my Pepsi and coffee. The service here is great and always prompt! It is a lively crowd so it can be a little loud. A great sports bar with a wide food selection, friendly service, good beer selections, and a slightly more upscale vibe than a regular sportsbar. I went for a quick lunch today with my mom. I had the Cajun shrimp appetizer. It was four pieces of shrimp. They were tasty with a corn salsa. I ordered the Jameson chicken for my meal. That was really delicious. I had moved out of the neighborhood and I wanted to come back and try their food again. I'm glad I did. I am disabled and the men's room was extremely tight for my scooter. They need better handicap accessible facilities. THATS A MUST! And that's why I gave 3 stars. The food, service and restaurant were great...worthy of 4+ stars. We rented a party room and the experience was not great. We paid for 1-5 pm and they started cleaning everything up at 4:20 when our guests were still there. They shut off our music and was lowering our music throughout the entire party. At 4:40 the manager Bridget was extremely rude and she came in and said "Can we wrap this up, I have another party starting after this" Why book another party then when we paid until 5pm. We marked every guest as they arrived and ended up with a total of 54 adults. She was very passive aggressive and condescending in her tone when she insisted that her and her entire staff counted 58 adults eating. We explained that couldn't be possible because we only had 59 guests on our list and 4 of them didn't show. She also said she served 3 kids plates, however we had 4 kids on our list but only 3 attended. When she agreed to charge us for the 54 adults instead of the 58, she then added a 4th kid who wasn't there. When I tried to clarify why she added another kid she snatched a paper I was showing her out of my hand 3 times and immediately became argumentative. Then she dismissed me and walked over to my mom to begin arguing with her. The next day my sister attended a party for another event and they had a live rock band that they didn't seem concerned with the noise level, it was much louder than our music that they kept lowering and eventually shut off, they kept the food out and allowed guest to pack home food, meanwhile ours was packed up before our guests could even grab seconds and one paid guest didn't even get to eat because it was already gone. Same with the the cake. Very rushed for some reason. I believe she was being racist because we were all hispanic. I'm so upset with her behavior. read more

The ambiance was very friendly and open. They provided my family a large space and intimate area to enjoy our dinner together. It was clean and open for the child to run around. It was also far away from the noise from the bar area. The waitress was quite friendly and willing help us with the birthday cake. She also efficiently got all of our orders out at a timely manner and help us with any misunderstanding Overall it was good but the food was just okay. The appetizers that we got were good and portion size was good for a family size of 12. The entrees were lacking a bit as the Jumbo Shrimp scampi wasn't up to par. It didn't taste like the usual shrimp scampi and it had a weird aftertaste (don't recommend). The steak was well seasoned but slightly overcooked for a medium rare. The best entree was the Grand Avenue Pasta. I would definitely recommend that. Restaurant is great for large gathering and homey food if you like that and looking for that. read more

I went there today for lunch with a coworker we usually got at least 3 to 4 times amonyh..today I order well done burger my coworker medium. Well when we got our burger mine was medium rare, while my coworker was well done. They took yhe burgers back. The burger was brought out again..guess what I bit inot it and it was still Red. Meaning not well done. Not sure way this was done to us. But perhaps maybe since it's an Irish pub and im brown skin perhaps they did this to let me and my coworker now they dont want us eating there no more..too bad. The burger and sweet potato fries are a no-brainer, as is the beef stew. Carol takes good care of us each time while Gabby and Julie keeps the Jameson Gingers flowing. Redbreast whiskey is a treat. This is my second time coming here first for a baby shower and second for a birthday party. The catering service and food was amazing both times. The place is super huge, having maybe 3 entrances with like 4 different rooms for private parties, one room includes a hangout sports bar. Although it's a big place everyone has to use just two men/women restrooms. They should consider putting a bathroom stall in each party room. The room where the birthday party was being held looked nicely put together, they had great seats, nice white tablecloths and good glass cups and silverware, the servants/waiters were very attentive, orderly and clean. I liked that they had the food in steel chafers instead of the aluminum one. What I loved most was the food, everything was delicious the stuffed eggplant, the pasta even the salad with my favorite balsamic vinegar. Pretty much your run-of-the-mill Irish bar and restaurant in Maspeth. We came here tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had a pretty big table and sat in the backyard. Our waiter, Diego, was great. We were taken care of promptly and with friendly service. We ordered a bunch of apps including the fried calamari, spring rolls, and garlic mushrooms. Everything was good and came out hot. I ordered the buffalo mild wings and they didn't disappoint. My friends enjoyed their burgers, salads, and tidbits (which looked delicious). Can get to the main bar thru this little internal alleyway. Staff was very professional and friendly. We had our baby shower here back in February and it was a great experience all around. Bridget the manager helped us go over different options for the menu and rooms available and all of her recommendations were on point (especially the pernil). We booked the corner room with the windows facing the street and it was a very nice space. There's also a new-ish indoor (covered and heated) patio area that was quite airy and nice but we went with the room based on the number of guests. A bunch of people canceled the day of and Bridget was very accommodating with making last minute adjustments and charging us accordingly. Background story, We are originally from Ireland, lived in Maspeth for 24 years then moved to SC in 2013. After college our son moved back to NY in 2017 to work, where he met his sole mate. As far as we were concerned the only place for his and our daughter in law's rehearsal dinner was in Connolly's Corner on June 17th, 2022. I am writing this review because if you are in any doubt about having a party here you can rest assured that everything will be just perfect and I am a perfectionist!!! Now, keep in mind I organized this mostly from SC with the help of the manager Bridget Criscuolo with a few quick visits up to NY, which I do anyway. Nothing and I mean nothing I asked for or suggested was a problem for Bridget, she even matched the napkins to the wedding colors. In actual fact she told me to stop stressing that, that's what she was there for!!! So a BIG thank you Bridget for putting up with me and for truly delivering on all you promised. Jameson Chicken is a must! Pass on the shrimp appetizer - shrimp are good but that sauce leaves something to be desired. Love the entrees here, they are huge and delicious. Most recently went to do a party for my babies first birthday and Bridget was extremely accommodating. We booked the place and the day before we found out we had Covid so I had to cancel. Bridget put me at ease by refunding me the deposit and making sure that my well being was a priority. You have to honor businesses like that because a lot of the other vendors for my sons bday kept all the money even though they gave me no product. On Friday May 24th, I had my daughter's Confirmation at Connolly's Corner. Bridget was my memory maker. She was on top of everything from start to finish & made the celebration a memorable one. She is extremely professional, so sweet & personalable.Simply the best person for her line of work, extremely swet & easy going. I'm grateful that she made sure that any left over food & cake was ready & packed to go at the end of the night. The bakery the restaurant uses made a delicious strawberry short cake, that was moist & the best part is that it was NOT overly sweet! The food was yummy & the vegetables were nicely cut uniformly. The nachos were so yummy, The chicken tenders were nice & crunchy & the french fries delicious (lol.. Could've eaten the whole plate of the french fries myself).
