I love the staff here! First, scheduling my appointment was a breeze. The guy I talked to on the phone was so friendly, and it was no different when I came in for my appointment. Dr. Chen was great during my checkup. She makes you feel comfortable. She also gave me suggestions such as considering Lasik. Whenever I had questions, she didn't just tell me "you should...." She gives the reason why behind questions, which I like because I'm more likely to follow advice if I understand why it's important. I also picked out a new pair of glasses. Dr. Chen and two others on her staff were all helping me and telling me which ones they thought looked good and which I should try on. Since I was going to be out of town, they shipped my glasses to me. I had more questions, and whenever I call, someone picks up almost immediately. The customer service here is great. I've been to many optometrists, and I'm usually bored, unimpressed, and can't wait to get out of there. This place is so different. read more

Amazing service. The entire staff is super friendly. Julie and Michael were so helpful when I was in a lot of pain. I came in as a walk in for a scratched cornea (I was literally in tears), and they were able to squeeze me in for an appointment. I got great care and Julie took the time to explain the different options to me as far as treatment. I had a follow up appointment the day after the initial treatment and I had the same level of service. I wouldn't go anywhere else after my experience here. Dr. Julie Chen and her staff far exceeded my expectations. I had trouble finding the place when I parked in the garage, but Mike (who works at the front) called me right when I got there to make sure I could find the building. Dr. Chen was one of the nicest professionals I've ever met and we had a nice conversation while she performed the eye exam. She is such a likeable person and really makes you feel comfortable and taken care of. Kirsten, who helped me with the check out and payment process was very friendly and helpful. She took the time to break down the costs for me so I could understand what I was paying for. Overall, the entire staff was very accommodating for my saturday morning experience. I was really hesitant about coming here as I haven't been to an Optometrist in over a decade. Dr. Chen and all of her staff are superstars in customer service. They were super nice and understanding as I knew nothing about medicine in eyeballs haha. Being a new patient, I had to fill out the standard paperwork through their website, which was a pain to log into and do online as their security setting was doing its job too well. However, Dr. Chen was understanding and called me personally to make sure I was ok and able to fill out my forms ahead of the appointment. I love Dr. Chen. She is great. She is thorough. She takes great care of you. I do feel like some of the new girls could use some more training. One of the test I got the girl was having a lot of trouble with. I don't think in the end she realized she wasn't getting it right. I had a feeling she wasn't doing it right but it was confirmed when Dr. Chen did the test over and I clearly saw how the test was supposed to go. Dr Chen is amazing! I've had many eye doctors over the years and when my eyes were at their worst she was the only one who helped me get them back on track! She is so sweet and makes you feel so comfortable the second you sit down. I couldn't recommend her and her team anymore, if there was a 10 star option I would have chosen that. I had to have PR surgery (Lasik alternative) and she was there on the day of my surgery, and did all my post op appointments. She;s fabulous and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my eyes. If you are looking for a new eye doctor in the Irvine area, do yourself a favor and go see her. I had some issues with my glasses and she is sending it to the lab just to make sure everything is okay even though it has been over 3 months. Dr. Chen and her team are wonderful! They are efficient with your time on the routine eye exams, but also make sure you have the right fit. I was being fitted for contacts and she realized I was beginning to show slight astigmatism in one eye. Dr. Chen is very personable and isn't just "going through a routine". She knows you, remembers you and explains the process of what she's looking/watching with your eyes specifically. She's the type of doctor that you know has your best interest in mind but also listens to how challenging or not so challenging your vision is. She's not 100% test result/action minded (unless that's what you want, I don't) and so she caters to that with me. She's a good balance between test and experience/symptoms.
