My experience here was very pleasant. Everybody was kind about me rescheduling and when I did finally come in the service was great and everybody was incredibly pleasant to work with. When I was done they helped me look for the right type of prescription sunglasses and actually ordered the pair of Raybans I was looking at, just so I can come in and try them on. This place is a bit hidden if you don't work in the area. I walked by this office for the past 6 months and decided to give them a try because of the yelp reviews and the fact that it is super convenient for me. This is now my new favorite optometrist office, the staff is super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable for their specific position. Dr. Julie is amazing, she is very thorough throughout the exam and even explains to you each step of the way and a good plus is that if you want to come in on the weekends, she is also open on Saturday. My experiences at Concourse Optometry have been wonderful. I am extremely particular with doctors that I see. I want someone who is knowledgeable, honest, and seems to have a desire to actually get to know me as a person. Dr. Chen is just that. She is very knowledgeable, patient, gentle, honest, and takes the time to ask questions and get to know me. The front office staff is great as well, they're friendly and welcoming! Another plus is that they have always seemed to be running on schedule for my appointment times, which is especially helpful for me because I typically have to schedule appointments during my lunch time at work. Appointments can run pretty long, sometimes over an hour, but that is just because they are thorough and take time with each patient. The parking lot can be a little hectic, especially around lunchtime, but Concourse has reserved parking for their patients. Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I now get vision insurance through his new company and we needed a new optometrist (since Costco doesn't accept insurance). We were due for eye exams and based on a recommendation from a friend, we went to check these guys out. The office is located in the business district on Main Street in Irvine, in those big towers. It was a bit hard to find at first but we found it on the outside of the building, across from the Morgan Stanley building. It's a very professional looking office! Dr. Chen was very thorough with the exams and spent a lot of time with each of us. The exam was very detailed and attentive. We had to bring our kids but she didn't seem to mind and was very helpful in keeping them busy. I ended up switching to one day contact lenses. I'm not sure if they are environmentally better than using solutions and contact cases but she helped me weigh the pros and cons. Mike was very helpful in finding a pair of sunglasses that looked nice on me. Overall we are very happy with the experience and will be coming back! read more

Great experience overall. I walked in at my appointment time and was helped immediately. Everything was seamless from the paperwork, vision tests, and payment. The doctor Julie was amazing... super clear and very knowledgeable, I felt very comfortable asking her for LASIK advise and what to do to help with my horrible night vision. I wanted to get new frames and the process was super easy and I didn't feel rushed or taken advantage of. I picked two frames at the end and she brought me exactly what I was paying for on a very organized sheet, I couldn't see since I got my eyes dilated and she literally red off every line for me and the amount. Since I couldn't see she was super helpful in reading it slowly and gave me enough time to make the decision I wanted with frames. Overall left feeling great about my eyes and purchase. The whole appointment took an hour and a half which was great! My advise would just get there a bit earlier the parking lot is always pretty packed but a lot of food options around when you are done with your appointment! read more

I love this Place! I went here since I worked walking distance to it and wound finding my new Eye Doctor. Dr. Chen is amazing and the staff is extremely helpful. Dr. Chen managed to find contacts that work for me after 3 others couldn't. She is sympathetic to any concerns and issues you have about your eyes. She is also very warm and has a great personality that makes you feel at home in her chair. The facility is clean and she sanitizes everything (I watched her do it to everything I put my face on). I have recommended my co-workers to this establishment and they came back raving. Its hard to find a doctor your comfortable with who isn't trying to rush you out the door. This place is great and Mike (the receptionist/assistant) let me eat all the butterscotch candy from their dish like I was a kid again. I lost my glasses plus I was due for an eye exam. I called another place that seemed to be book completely until Saturday when I called on a Monday...never heard of a place being booked like that for an eye exam so I found Concourse next. Great service and Dr. Chen is great when it comes to the exam and explains why she is doing each test. My glasses were ready in a week, very fast so that is a plus. They also stay open to 6pm and have a 7pm late night as well so I love that I can go after work. I just wish they accepted Care Credit, but when I mention it to them they said they would look into it...I really hope they do. They also have stylish options for glasses. read more

I've had the good fortune of visiting some very good optometrists in my life, but nothing compares to the quality of care I have received from Dr. Julie Chen. This office uses cutting-edge technology to provide very thorough care for regular visits. Most impressively, I recently developed something of a dangerous eye condition. I called the office, scared and blurry, and Dr. Chen made time for an appointment for me on incredibly short notice, because she was able to correctly recognize the condition I was describing and wanted to ensure (1) she confirmed it and (2) she immediately started the best possible course of treatment. (I'm fine now.) Almost as importantly, when I was frightened and in pain, she was kind, understanding and reassuring, Adding to the outstanding quality of this office is her front staff, particularly Mike. They are all thoughtful, professional and knowledgeable. Moreover, when you're early for an appointment (like I'm known to be) they don't ignore you... Concourse is the place to go if you want to feel truly cared for. Dr. Chen and Mike are very professional, but very down to earth. I knew they were great from ratings, but what is difficult to explain is the feeling you get that they truly care about their patients. Julie was able to recommend a brand of daily lenses that I can't even tell are in my eyes. Being able to wear contacts has made a huge difference! I also had new lenses for my glasses made that turned out well. They were honest and upfront with the cost of different things after my insurance. They are amazing! I went to Concourse Optometry in search of new eyeglass frames. I was in a bit of a pickle as i was dealing w an eye issue so i couldn't wear my contacts as often and had broken my very old glasses. I was left wearing my prescription sunglasses everywhere. Their staff could not have been more helpful and nice. They were very knowledgeable about each of their frames and offered assistance in picking out which ones would work best for me. Dr. Chen herself came out at one point to answer a question i had. They also rushed the order and i received my new glasses in 5 days.
