I went to Concourse Optometry on Wed. July 23rd for my eye exam; that process with Dr. Chen went fine. I needed a new prescription, so Mike at the front desk ordered the lenses. Dr. Chen and Mike agreed that I could have the new lenses mounted in an old frame that I would provide to them (and I did so the next day). I was told that my new glasses would be ready in three weeks, which seems long to me, but what do I know. Fast forward two weeks, no glasses, but my need for them had become more urgent because my current glasses were falling apart (superglue to the rescue). I called their office to check on the status of my new glasses. Mike said that he had no information but would check with the lab about expediting them and he'd call me back. He acknowledged that I needed the new glasses ASAP since my existing glasses were falling apart. I never received a call back. One week more, still no glasses, and no word from Mike. I called again, and now Mike says that he thinks the lab mailed out the new glasses, but he would check with the lab and call me back. He didn't explain why the lab would have put the glasses in the mail (rather than express delivery) if they were urgently needed. He did say that Dr. Chen was out of town, and that she usually picks up glasses from the lab herself. I guess it's just too bad for me that she's out of town when I need my glasses. Apparently, no one else knows where the secret lab is located to go pick up the glasses. Oh, and Mike never called me back. Today, I called again (four weeks since my exam). Mike says still no glasses and he hasn't heard back from the lab. According to Mike, he's done everything he could (except calling me back, I noted). At this point, I told him to cancel the transaction and get me my frames back so I can go somewhere else to get the lenses made. I see some other supposed reviews where the staff (i.e., Mike) have been helpful, in constant contact, glasses within one week, etc. I can't speak to the veracity of these earlier reviews, but they certainly do not coincide with my frustrating experience dealing with Concourse Optometry, and I would never recommend them. UPDATE: The day after I canceled the transaction and asked for my frames back, Mike gave them to me. They were clearly untouched by the lab (they still have the old lenses glued in) so apparently no work was done on my glasses for four weeks. What a waste of time. No telling how long I'd still be waiting if I didn't cancel the transaction. But thanks for the speedy turnaround getting my frames back to me. read more

As a current patient, I had a scheduled appointment with Dr. Chen but went to another office just last week to get a pair of frames repaired after the lens popped out. They didn't have the sanitizing procedures in place that Dr. Chen has so I felt very comfortable at Dr. Chen's office. I'm glad to see that they are making the welfare of the staff and patients a priority. To say that they are taking every precaution is an understatement! Being that their office is small they make sure that the appointments are spaced well enough apart so the the patients have plenty of time while they are there. They will sent you a secure link to fill out the required forms prior to your visit to make the most of your time during your appointment. Masks are required, sanitizing is done immediately before, during and after your visit, taking care to wipe down EVERYTHING! The staff is pleasant and very attentive. Absolutely, fantastic patient care. I had a comprehensive eye exam earlier this month. I was experiencing problems after cataract surgery performed by Kaiser. Dr. Chen advised me that I would need specialty lens not available from her at this time. She said that she would research this and get back to me in a few days. She called back and said that she was taking an accreditation class that would let her prescribe a prescription that would help me with my situation. Wow! I certainly appreciate the "extra" effort.
