Came back here to replace my lenses from frames I bought here 4 years ago. I was greeted promptly and helped out right away! They understood my request and gave me all the information I needed. When my lenses came in about 5 days later, I returned with my glasses to get the frames replaced. The same girl that helped me out was there and she remembered me! She said "welcome back, I assume your lenses are in?" Incredible memory! I waited for about 10 minutes to get my lenses replaced. Probably the most professional, efficient and friendly experience I've had ordering glasses. Was promptly greeted and helped upon walking in (no appointment) by Stephanie. She helped me choose the right type of progressive lenses for these aging eyes. I was in and out of there in probably 30 mins. That's a great thing bc I had 2 kids in tow who waited patiently in the waiting area but their patience only can go so long. When I came back to pick up my glasses, Daniel helped me out. He was able to explain to me how to adjust to my new glasses as I'm brand new to progressives. He even mapped out the differences on the lens and showed me how it's composed. He helped adjust the frames to fit my face and suggested nose pads online to help me out with my Asian nose bridge. Very helpful and knowledgeable! He was patient with all my questions. This review is purely for the optical section, and not the doctor. I recently received a gift card in the mail - one for me and one to give to a friend for a discount on a new pair of glasses. On both occasions of picking out and picking up my glasses, I worked with Daniel who was very helpful and thorough in his explanations. Even though he was the only one working at the time, he never made me or my family feel rushed in making decisions when there was another customer waiting for him. He made sure to check the fit of my glasses and made the proper adjustments before I even asked. When my mom picked out her glasses Daniel used the iPad to take measurements of her eyes in relation to her frame and he even showed me what exactly it was measuring (I hadn't seen this before, and I had previously worked in optical for a few years). Additionally, Daniel put some nose pads on my mom's beloved sunglasses that have a tendency to fall down her nose, and now my mom is even more stoked to wear them about! I went in for an appointment sometime in October, and they said they were too busy to print my receipt and prescription and would email it to me. When I reminded them a few days later, they sent me a picture of my prescription that was displayed on a computer. That is an extremely unprofessional way to give a customer their prescription. I had to call multiple times to remind them, only for them to only send my prescription, send my prescription twice instead of my receipt, etc. When I went to order my contacts elsewhere, the other optician made multiple comments about how unbelievably unprofessional it was that this was how this optical center was operated. Only today did I finally get a receipt for a visit in October. Both doctors I met with were great, but the lack of professionalism and organization would make me advise anyone to stay very far away and go elsewhere. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Ciobanu for years. She's always professional and on time. I even have my kid see her. The advantage of seeing one doctor over a long period is that they have your records and pictures from previous years and can make comparisons. Daniel is great too -- always helpful, goes out of his way to help us find the right style and fit of glasses, and takes the initiative to fix any problems with our current glasses. I've been to other places for glasses, but go back to Target for their ability to work with our insurance, the convenience of the store, and the good people they hire. I've never had an issue with picking up my new glasses/contacts. Delivery is never terribly long. I do wish they had more styles and colors for older kids/preteens, but other than that, I would recommend. read more

I got a great deal on my glasses. $99 for frames and lenses with a $200 purchase of contact lenses. EXCEPT the lens coating started to peel about 6 months after I got them. I've never had that before. See photo. Target said that the warranty didn't cover this, but I could get a deal to buy replacement lenses for $113. Of course, I don't want the same brand of peeling lenses again. I was assured that my specific lens is no longer stocked. Hmm. I wonder why? Peeling coating perhaps! This review is only for the support staff ( Manger Don) NOT dr. Ciobanu (wonderful doctor). My family and I have been coming to Target Optical for the past 7yrs, The support staff was so pleasant and competent. At the beginning of 2020, this new manager, Don comes on board and all of the previous staff (pleasant and competent) are no longer there. The only person that knows how to order contacts, glasses and dealing with insurance is Suzanne. The rest of the support staff are duds. I had an exam in January, Dr. Ciobanu prescribed new prescription for my daily lenses and suggested that I try some eye drops to help with the dry eyes. Unfortunately Don helped me with prescription ordering. First, he over charged me because he didn't understand how to use the insurance system and second, he ordered my 2019 prescription instead of the current one, 2020. Yes, this is a man that is managing the front of the business. I asked for samples of eye drops and he told me that that don't have any samples. Total BS as I've always receive trail size samples. After receiving my incorrect prescription contacts, I waited for Suzanne to come in so that I didn't have to deal with incomplete Don. Suzanne had to return and reorder the correct prescription. She was happy to give me a sample of the eye drops. As much as I think Dr. Ciobanu is a great doctor, unfortunately, the support staff has a major role in the practice. It's not worth it to have a great doctor and have to put up with the lazy, incompetent support staff. read more

I have been a repeat customer for 2 years and on the 3rd year, they lost my entire file. Their filing system is not electronic. Everything is done with a paper trail. At my most recent visit, they kept telling me I did not have VSP. It turns out they were reviewing the wrong customer file this entire time I was there. I'm not crazy pissed off. I just really don't have time for this and since they lost my entire file, it makes it simple just to leave and go somewhere else. The idea of coming to Target to shop and get your eyes checked was definitely appealing. It's convenient. I didn't care for the customer service at checkin or checkout. For the most part, the retail workers were just talking amongst themselves or gossiping. I met a different doctor every year and they were nice and knowledgeable. There was nothing personable about any of them for me. I kept coming back because it really was nice to shop around Target. I have to update this because 6 months later and after a second visit of explaining how my contacts do not fit well on my eye and irritates them, I still have issues. The doctor insisted it was correct (even though she wasn't the one who initially did my exam) and I can't even use them. I am not new to wearing contacts, Ive been wearing them for over 13 years and I've never had a doctor tell me I was wrong on how my contacts felt in my eye haha. Disappointing because I wasted so much money on them. Would never come back to this location for an exam.
