I was experiencing a lot of dryness and irritation in my eyes. my regular optometry office didn't have any appointments available in the near future so i called Tustin Optometry (since it was a block from me) and they got me in next day. The front desk ladies as well as Dr. Lopez were AMAZING. They made me feel so welcome, didn't make me feel bad or an inconvenience for having my 5 year old with me, and were very informative in explaining everything that had to do with my eyes to me. Most of the reviews you see are for Dr Moeser but this review is specifically for Dr Lopez who I saw and will give him 5 stars no question I recently visited Tustin Optometry for a routine eye exam and my experience was great. Scheduling was convenient and location is great with easy parking. Dr Lopez saw me right on time, very patient and discussed my eye health history in great detail. He is ofc very experienced but at the same time very approachable. The assistant staff is extremely helpful with pre-exam tests plus scheduling changes. I also got some good advice ordering new prescription lenses via my insurance. I will update this review for completeness once I receive my prescription lenses. But for now, I am certainly glad I have this option in Tustin versus driving miles in traffic to either Irvine or Newport Beach. read more

I needed a new optometrist and this was close to my virtual office. The doctor and all of the staff members were nice and friendly and very efficient. I don't have vision insurance but what I paid out of pocket was reasonable. The first prescription the doctor gave me was not filled properly at Costco so he had to redo the prescription. And when he had to see me a second time he did not charge me. Eventually we got it all sorted and everything is as it should be. The staff here is very nice and friendly. I had a very upsetting experience at Tustin Optometry today. I called the office in the morning around 10 AM and spoke with a woman to schedule an eye exam for my 4-year-old daughter. I provided all the necessary insurance information, which she confirmed through their system. We scheduled an appointment for 3:45 PM, and I even received a confirmation text. We arrived at 3:40 PM, and after waiting a few minutes, I was handed a form to fill out. While waiting, I overheard a conversation between the receptionist and the doctor in the back, and it sounded like he was confused or frustrated, saying he didn't have a child's chart. We were finally called in around 4:00 PM. From the moment we met the doctor, his demeanor felt off--cold and visibly irritated, which felt completely inappropriate for a child's appointment. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt since this was our first visit, but as the exam went on, he became increasingly agitated and rude. Eventually, he told me he couldn't complete the appointment and that we needed to see a pediatric optometrist instead. I explained that I had called earlier that morning to make this appointment specifically for my 4-year-old, and that no one mentioned it would be a problem. His response? "We fired her... no, we didn't... but you can't blame me." The entire situation was incredibly unprofessional. I had packed up both my kids, drove a full hour round-trip, and was blindsided by a refusal to provide care that could have easily been communicated well in advance. They had hours to call me back and let me know if they couldn't see a child, but instead, they let us show up and be treated so poorly. This was one of the most uncomfortable and frustrating doctor visits I've ever had. I would absolutely not recommend this doctor or this office to anyone. read more

I can't thank Dr. Moeser enough for saving my vision! After complaining of a blurred spot in the center of my vision, I was examined by an Ophthalmologist in Fullerton who came highly recommended. That Doctor did a very thorough exam and told me there was nothing wrong with the eye. Since I was having a great deal of discomfort in my left eye, I was suspicious of his diagnosis and made an appointment with Dr. Moeser. Unsure if my Medical Insurance would pay for a second opinion, I decided to use my Vision Care and see an Optometrist to speed up the treatment process and to bypass a lot of insurance red tape. My Wife did some research and read many reviews on "Heath Grades" and "Yelp" before we settled in and made an appointment with Dr. Moeser. Having never met him before, I was surprised that he had all the same modern equipment and a bunch of impressive plaques on his wall. He ran all the same tests the Ophthalmologist did and a few more. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Moeser diagnosed a severe problem with the eye and recommended I seek treatment from a Retinal Specialist. The Search was on again. This time I ended up at the Jules Stein Institute at UCLA. I met with the Chief of Staff, Dr Steven Schwartz and again went through a battery of tests. When the results were in, he commended Dr. Moeser for his skill for catching a very serious problem that would have lead to blindness in that eye if left untreated. That same day Dr Schwartz performed an emergency procedure to treat a blood clot that was putting pressure on my optic nerve. I'm one who reads Yelp reviews with a lot of skepticism, but Dr. Moeser was a great find and is obviously a very well trained and outstanding Physician. He also has a very quirky sense of humor that I'm sure you'll enjoy as well as I did. read more

I knew my eyes were going bad since seeing the sports scores on ESPN we're fuzzy. I made an appointment since my insurance was accepted here. I was very comfortable during my appointment. We talked about how Tustin has changed throughout the years. After the check up I chose my frames and also went with the anti glare or whatever it's called for night time. My glasses were ready in less than a week. I was very happy. Soon I'll probably need different glasses to see small print. I will definitely come back when that time comes. read more

The customer service is not great. I felt that the lady who answers the phone does not care for the customers at all.. I called in to drop of my glasses which I already have the prescription for and glasses. As I have already previously dropped off glasses with them in the past I called to verify that they were able to receive my glasses for drop off to have a prescription put in an hour before they closed- the response I got was that they could not help me and to come in on a day that I could take off work? After I told the lady I couldn't take a day off work she emphasized "well just take work off", "why don't you just have someone cover for you" not everyone can just take a day off work. She basically told me what to do with my job. I had called in a week prior to this day and asked if I needed an appointment and the answer was that I didn't need an appointment for a drop off of glasses , that I could just drop off my glasses. Long story short the lady was rude. I understand what it's like to be busy but speaking to customers rudely does not help. I'm upset, I will not be back here. read more

What started out as an adjustment on my 6 year old frames and a fitting for a new pair of glasses turned into an adventure. I was warned over the phone that my frames might break because of how old they were. I couldn't wear them as they were, so, I brought them in. They broke. No problem, I had a spare of the exact frame. I had already broke the 3rd pair in the same place that these broke. I really wanted new lenses put into the frames I purchased on line. (do not do this!) The bridge was wrong for my face and Beth was honest enough to tell me instead of pacifying me. She spent over two hours with me calling my previous optician, measuring, my lenses over and over and pulling all the frames she thought would work. I worked retail for over 30 years and I would have told me to get the hell out of there. Beth, on the other hand, was so patient with me I wanted to hug her. We decided on a frame and went with the prescription Dr, Moeser prescribed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my sensitive eyes will be nothing but pleased. Let me preface this by saying I have been coming to Tustin Optometry for over 10 years. My parents set me up as a patient here when I was a minor before I knew anything about anything. If it were not for the low cost they offer with my medical plan, I would have left years ago. I think it's time I finally take my business elsewhere. Dr. Moeser is terribly unfriendly. I think it's one of those cases where he thinks he is funny, but he's actually just rude and judging. Every time I've come in here he has made it a point to offend me on multiple topics ranging from my work place, my education, my university, my diet, and my interests. I have shirked it off for 10 years thinking every time before I came in for my next appointment "this time will be better." I have come to terms that that was wishful thinking. I come here to get my eyes taken care of and to make sure I can see in this world, not to be put down by a snarky, judging old man. Also, when I first started going here, the staff was very upbeat. After some time, they seemed to adapt to the doctors unpleasant disposition, which was very disconcerting. I called in for my prescription and the receptionist was very rude and assumed that I would be buying frames online and they could not help me with fitting or that they would be wrong. I know they make their money solely off frames, lenses, and contacts sales, but can they make it less obvious that they don't care about their customers? There is a new receptionist that is absolutely wonderful and I fear for her decline in upbeat attitude the longer she works in this environment. I do really like one receptionist still. I am forgetting her name at the moment, but she has dark hair with some grey, very wavy hair, with a darker complexion. She's lovely and has never been rude to me. Other than that, this office needs some serious attitude adjustments. I would not recommend this office, especially Dr Moeser, to even my worst enemies. No one deserves to feel judged and put down when they are looking for medical help. read more

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Moeser for a number of years. Dr. Moeser and his staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. I especially like Dr. Moeser's dry sense of humor. Earlier this year, after an exam, he told me he suspected glaucoma and referred me to an ophthalmologist. The ophthalmologist concurred with Dr. Moeser's diagnosis saying he was spot on. I ended up having emergency laser surgery on both eyes and I am pleased the glaucoma didn't cause permanent damage to the optic nerve.
