My glasses broke a day before my trip in the morning so I called Dr. Funai and Pam if there was any way they could fit me in to help fix my glasses and check my eyes. They both were extremely accommodating and walked me through how they could make it work around their schedule. Dr Funai and Pam both ended up sacrificing their lunch so they could help with this emergency and I couldn't be more grateful. Got my annual eye exam, contact fitting, and retina photos done! Top to bottom amazing service from Dr. Funai and both opticians. Made an appointment online very easily and I was given friendly text message reminders for my visit as well! Dr. Funai went above and beyond to educate me on my eye health and make sure all of my concerns were addressed. He even asked me about family planning and mentioned a pediatric eye treatment that would prevent my future kids from having vision as bad as mine. I drove all the way from LA because a lot of my friends highly recommended Dr. Funai (new owner I think!) so I went for my eye exam and contact lens fitting. Dr. Funai made the entire experience easy, comfortable, and stress-free. He took the time to answer my questions and made sure I understood every step he's doing throughout the whole exam which made me trust him. It was my first time putting on contacts and he was so patient (I took almost an hour) and made sure I was able to put on contacts appropriately before I leave. He also has really nice options for glasses including branded and non-branded ones! Bonus points he also offered my boyfriend a quick eye exam while he was just there to accompany me. I have been going to Dr Silverberg for over 25 years. Our appointments are once per year but every appointment feels like we were there just yesterday. Staff remembers us, asks how we are sincerely and remembers things we do, like Halloween festivities. To me, that shows their dedication to their business is more than just step and repeat. It doesn't feel like an assembly line rather it feels like going to a friend's home and hanging out with the benefit of getting your eyes checked. 10/10 recommend read more

They said I needed bifocals but that I had to get progressive lenses and had to add premium elements that weren't covered by my insurance because "no one makes the basic stuff anymore". They did not have any options that would have been covered. Had to pay out of pocket $400. Picked up the glasses and they were terrible; I couldn't see at all from either top or bottom of the lens, and was told to "get used to them." Got a headache after an hour, was tripping over things, and driving was a danger, so I brought them right back. They changed them into readers and I kept my glasses from last year for distance. Would not refund me the difference. Basically ended up paying $400 for readers here. Such a scam. read more

After two years with Jamboree Optometry, I am giving them 2 stars for their services. The only reason I give them 2 stars instead of 1 is because Dr. Silverman is very professional, nice and is efficient. Most of my complaints have to do with the front desk. She's rude and has a condensing tone for everything. I asked for a copy of my prescription at the end of my appointment and she sighed telling me they have it on file so why do I need it? I gave her some feedback that some pairs of contacts ripped day one when they were two weeks contacts and she told me to call in next time to replace them. It happened again with my new shipment, I called in then she tried to convince to come in since my prescription expires in 3 months. Also she didn't replace them, just charged me for another box. It's the same condensing tone every time I interact with her, so I chalked it up it's the customer service to expect from her. Prices are also VERY high and I have PPO insurance in their network. I've been quoted lower prices at 3 other places. I chose jamboree since it was close to home, but will be taking my business elsewhere based on my experience. read more

They gave me expired contact lenses for trial. First trial the contact lenses expired 2/28/2021. I put them in and did not noticed the expiration date until the next doctor visit. At the second trial the lenses expired even in 2016 and 2017 and I suddenly noticed that and did not take them. The staff here claimed it has not cause any trouble yet. Seems like they just don't care enough about my wellness.. But isn't it against the rule to prescribe expired contact lenses no matter what reason? BE CAREFUL. After the issue happened, I had to fight hard to get a chance to talk to the doctor at all for the potential risk. the store manager said the doctor is very busy and can only talk to me next week. ( "I--said--I--will--pass it on to the doctor!")They don't care how you feel just want to be done with it. I chose not to work with them because there is no more trust. They provided a refund for the $60 trial fee as I asked but nothing more than that. If you continue work with them, you won't be compensated for anything just like nothing happened. read more

While Dr. Silverberg is a competent optometrist, his staff often are not and tend to get confused on billing and orders in my experience. The biggest con is that they are not upfront with what your costs will be after insurance, and you will have to pay $95 for a contact fitting exam, which usually is not with the doctor and is not worth $95. Most optometrists charge about $65. Their contact prices are about double what you would pay online as well. Bottom line, consumer beware! read more

Plus I need an eye exam for contact lens. I called and the lady was a bit rude. Eye exam $160 plus they need to do an contact lens essessment for $180? I have been wearing contacts for 30 years. I'd like to start by saying Dr. Silverberg is very competent and professional. No issue with the doctor or his services. But our family just can't come here anymore due to the front office. We have had multiple issues with the scheduling and front office. Not only once or twice, but MULTIPLE issues. After working in doctors offices for years, I can no longer trust the office with any medical record retainment or scheduling problems. Unfortunately it ultimately reflects poorly on the doctor. 1. 4 Times in the course of 1 year- due to lasik follow up and a regular eye appt, have my husband or I showed up and they did not schedule the correct time! One time they accused my husband of coming on an unscheduled time, but he then showed them the appt card that they filled out. Of course he had to reschedule and lose more time from work to come on a time the doctor was there! (Can't we demand a $25 fee for a no-show, like a doctor does?) 2. I had a babysitter come on a weekend and the doctor then told me he didn't realize I was his first appointment at 8:30, so he didn't bother coming until 9. I even asked the front desk after 15 minutes and they simply said they weren't sure where he was. 3. 1 other time he also didn't realize my husband was his first appt, and came in 30 min late. 2. They misplace/lose medical records of our visits along with any reference to their diagnosis or treatment! This is HUGE. This was the last straw- I can't trust going to a Doctor that has not control of their files, schedules or communication. Sorry- again- he himself seemed to be a good doctor (therefore 2 stars instead of 1) read more
