This is one of my fav costco. Customer service is great. They have great selection of products. The shelves are full and well organized. It's very clean and their check out, the cashiers are very fast. Valuewise is the same with other costco in the counties so I dont have too much to say! The only difference with LA ones will be huge difference in tax. All products are reasonably priced and the tags are visible so there is no challenge to find the price signs. This store tagging is beyond perfection. The parking is lil bit of hustle! Its fully packed and its very hard to find a parking spot! Was analyzed by Dr. Barbara Villa, O.D. and her wonderful staff and they identified a possible issue with my eye pressure - potential glaucoma. With Dr. Villa's written input, I was able to quickly have my eye pressure tested by an ophthalmologist thru my medical insurance. They quickly identified a major issue with my eye pressure and immediately placed me on an eye drop regimen to manage this condition. No damage was identified but this condition can quietly evolve into vision loss and blindness, if not controlled. I was only at this location because I wanted some new eyeglasses, but the final result was that they were able to protect my eyesight. I will forever be grateful to this doctor and her superlative staff - I would say pizza, drinks, ice cream, and chocolate chip cookies on me, but even that is reasonably priced at Costco !! read more

This is my experience at the optical store, not the doctors here. I got my previous glasses at Costco years ago. I admit I have slightly stronger eye prescription than other people, but this is not the issue. I found a pair of frames I liked and placed the order (1st visit). When the order was ready, I picked up my glasses (2nd visit). I thought they were a little blurry so I gave my eyes a couple of weeks to adjust. Fast forward 2 weeks, my eyes did not adjust. I went back to see if they can adjust the frame so they fit better (3rd visit). 4th visit, I decide these glasses aren't working for me. I go talk to the staff to see what they recommend. Their only two options are remake the entire lenses or refund the cost of the glasses. They were extremely hesitant to refund, especially the manager couldn't even imagine a refund. I didn't want to wait again for new lenses, so I had them adjust the frames again. 5th and final visit, I came back to demand a refund. The first person I talked to couldn't believe I said the word "refund", like it was a forbidden word. The manager came over to take over the situation. He started to blame me for choosing the wrong type of frames and that my prescription was so bad. Incredibly rude... I showed him my prescription sunglasses from a reputable brand, and proved that it wasn't the type of frame. He still didn't believe that the new glasses were faulty, but I'm the one who couldn't see clearly... In the end I got a refund. I went to another optical store and got an even better pair of glasses, with the SAME prescription, and no problems there. This is disappointing for Costco. read more

Considering the place is a zoo because it's located in a friggin' Costco, the service and personnel were quite refreshing. My wife and I were both in need of updated prescriptions and new glasses. The Male optometrist was quick and efficient. Did not catch his name. With new prescriptions in hand, we took a number and were soon assisted by Liam and Melisa, then later Alex. I lost the vision in my left eye (optic neuritis, MS) Melisa was able to give me a significant discount considering I would be using only one lens. It wasn't till I ordered then tried the progressive lenses that I realized they simply could not work for me. Having only one working eye, trying to keep my head always pointed in the direction that I was looking was impractical. As progressive lenses to varying degrees will always have a little blur to the sides of the lenses, reducing overall visual field. When we had come back to make a return/exchange, Alex was able to explain the Progressive limitations and kindly assist me in getting a new pair of glasses. Considering the odd location, I was very impressed with the overall quality of assistance throughout this glasses buying process, and my particular needs. This review is specific to the eye exam. I would never visit this place ever again, the whole exam took about 5 minutes, then I was given a lossy result, which turns out extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable. Wasted my insurance quota and I need to get my exam again on another provider. read more

Hit a miss with the employees. You really have to approach them for them to assist you or you'll end up standing around waiting. Kenya is always so helpful. Even if she's helping another customer, she still manages to assist me or let me know she will be with me shortly. She answered all my questions regarding my insurance and printed out a copy of my benefits so that I can understand what's covered. Always a pleasure to see employees like Kenya who provide great customer service! I got my eye exam next door within the costco with an independent optometrist, Ann Nguyen, OD. I had a smooth experience with purchasing my contacts after my exam. Got me in and out real quick. read more

I was here taking my grandma, who does not speak very much English, and no one here speaks Spanish. I was able to help out so it was not very difficult for us. But Ann Nguyen was so rude towards another customer because she couldn't speak very good English. And I think that is just despicable, don't drag her around Costco trying to find someone who can translate. Her face was so rude. Won't be coming back. read more

This review is for Alex, he's the worst optician you can get there. If you get him, I wish you luck. I had to deal with him twice. I didn't want him to help me the second time, but they're was no one else there. Really rude person, not very personable at all. Seems like he doesn't really want to be there. It's ridiculous how I had to wait close to an hour just to pick up 2 boxes of contacts! Which took less than a minute!! They seriously need to have a better system where someone can just help those who needs short help like pick ups and drop offs. And their customer service is horrible too, the man I believe his name is Alex is rude, doesn't respond to short, quick questions customers have, will look but will ignore you if you're not the "number" he's helping. No waiting or sitting area so you need to stand around for very long time which is sad when a lot of elderly people come in. Hire more workers or have better system for pick ups! read more

I have to say this was the worst experience when it comes to gettting a yearly eye exam and new glasses I have ever had!!! For the last 4 yrs I usually go to America's Best but our insurance changed so I decided to try what my insurance suggested. Bad idea.......YIKES bad move......As soon as we walked in to the optical department I should have right then turned around and left !!!! My first impression was no one bothers to say or anything to you..... you have to approach them for help or you'll end up standing around waiting. Very disorganized to say the least!!!!!Then when I did ask for help I was snapped at by a man who didnt have a name tag on ( now I know why) to stand in line which I did & while I stood there waiting I could hear a woman trying to explain several times in a nice tone by the way that she could not see out of the glasses she just came to pick up.While I waited I heard others complining when picking up and trying on their new glasses!! But I went ahhead and stuck around.... My eye exam went fine it was the picking out of frames after and getting the measurements and then returning to and pick up, try on/ adjust my glasses that turned in to a nightmare!!! Mind you I actually picked frames similar to the ones I had on already from America's Best optical, I just needed a new prescription since mine had changed!!!!!To make a long story short I had to go back 4 different times because they either gave me the wrong prescription, then gave me progressive lenses instead of bifocals and during this whole ordeal the man with out a name tag was a real ASS...rude.... condescending. I ended up leaving and going back to America's Best which turned out fabulous might I add no BS !!!!!! NEVER ever again... read more

After having a horrible experience at my regular optometrist I decided to get an exam at Costco to compare results. What a great experience. The optometrist Amy was really knowledgeable and confirmed that my regular person was wrong about the prescription I needed (my glasses from that prescription were blurry). The exam was very reasonable cost-wise. Then I went to the optical counter to order new lenses and was helped by Kennia, who was so patient and helped me navigate the insurance questions. I was so impressed with the fantastic customer service. This is my new go-to for all things optical! read more

DON'T GO TO COSTCO TUSTIN THE DISTRICT OPTICAL DEPARTMENT!! They messed up my eyeglass order and falsely texted me stating my glasses were ready. I drove all the way up in Friday night traffic (from Laguna Niguel to Tustin) only to find the order wasn't there. All they could do was shrug their shoulders and say, sorry the text shouldn't have gone out??!?!?? SHAME ON COSTCO. Will never go back to this store. read more
