Concourse optometry is such a modern office with kind staff. I do wish that scheduling is a bit better. I had to wait over a half hour past my scheduled time to see Dr. Chen. I felt as though everything was rushed, which is understandable because they were closing soon & busy but it would be wonderful to get the full patient experience without having to feel rushed. I didn't get much detail on what was going on during the eye exam and I had to mostly do all the asking. I didn't find out my results of the basic exams we took before hand nor did we discuss them. I originally wanted a comprehensive contact and eyeglass exam but they put me down for one. I didn't bother correcting that and taking up more of their time since I wear contacts more often. Even at the end when it was time to pay, I got a very vague breakdown of things and not the full details. It seemed like they just wanted me out LOL. I understand that everyone wants to go home, but that one on one experience is always important and leaves you feeling assured that you're in great hands. read more

So far so good with Dr Julie Chen. Since I moved full-time down to OC like 6+ years ago, I was still making the trek down to DTLA to my old optometrist's office. I wanted to find an optometrist closer to my home and I think I may have found it with Concourse Optometry. I got a full eye exam and also got intrigued by these new eyeglass lenses called Neurolens, which provide your eyes some relief from digital devices and the headaches and/or neck aches associated with your eyes having to constantly focus. I didn't qualify for the free pair as you have to fill out a survey to see how many symptoms you have. If you have to pay for them, let me forewarn you that they are expensive but so far I have had them for about a week and I think they do help. I got new frames as well and Linda has been very helpful throughout the whole process. Bonus is that they are in the same plaza as Krisp so I can walk over and get a drink or a croissant right after my appointment. I try to go in the mornings as this center gets crowded with popular restaurants such as Hironori, Ootoro, Duck Donuts, and the Trade food court being here as well. During Covid-19, their staff are all masked up and make sure to take your temperature before entering and, of course, ask you to mask up as well. They also have a wide range of high end frames to choose from, but what impressed me most was how diligent she was. Dr. Chen and her crew are fantastic! She is very thorough and our entire family always enjoys our annual check ups. It's very important to keep track of your eye health just as you would with your body. People do not quite understand how important it really is. Even if you don't wear glasses or contacts it's important to know if you may have some hereditary issues. And if you do wear glasses thr selection here is great! We came from out of town for a tournament and our daughter had an eye emergency on the first day of the tournament. We called multiple places and they wouldn't make time to see an un-established patient same day. We called Concourse and they were able to accommodate seeing us almost immediately. They were efficient. I emailed over our insurance information they were able to verify it on our way over there. They had our paperwork ready when we arrived. They got us in to see the dr. Controlled her pain, got us antibiotics, and she was able to fight through it and play. They were also soooooo welcoming and nice. From the up front staff to the Dr. they never made us feel rushed, they were thorough, and super caring. If I lived here this is where I would take my family to the eye doctor. Just picked up my new "occupational glasses" from here and I am ecstatic! I see fine with my existing progressive lenses while driving, watching TV etc. but I've been struggling at work seeing the computer screen. Looked up optometrists near work and gave Concourse a try - after going to my ophthalmologist for over 20 years. Very friendly, helpful office. Very thorough examination. And had lots of fun picking frames with the staff- SO Helpful! And the solution Dr proposed to help me see clearly at work totally worked. Dr. Julie Chen is amazing. I moved to Orange County from Sacramento just over a year ago. I've had glasses since I was 7 and contacts since 7th grade. I had a great optometrist in Sac and was a little nervous about finding someone just as great, since I had gone to the same eye Dr. my whole life. Dr. Chen has been incredible! After meeting with her, I decided to embark on the journey of lasik surgery. She referred me to a great Dr. , who I found out preformed lasik on both my boyfriend and my boss! So obviously, he was a great choice:) it's been just about a year since I decided to go through with the surgery, and I love it! There were a few times after the surgery where I was concerned (I had a piece of fuzz in my eye), and she took me in the same day.
