After reading the Yelp reviews, I brought my 2016 Lenovo Yoga 900 (bad battery) and 2013 Dell All-in-One (bad hard drive) to Chris since I didn't have time to fix them myself. He replaced the Yoga's battery and upgraded the Dell to an SSD. During his burn-in test (a smart quality check), the Dell failed. Chris tried replacing the motherboard with a used one, but it still wouldn't work. To make things right, he offered me a newer used HP All-in-One and transferred the SSD and 16GB RAM from the Dell. Everything was done in just a few days, impressively fast if you've ever dealt with PC repairs. I've worked in IT for over three decades and managed thousands of desktop and laptop deployments before retiring. My laptop was damaged after being mishandled by cruise employees and was dented on the top left corner of the frame. It still worked but there was a noticeable gap between the screen and metal housing, so I took it to Chris to see if he could fix it. I was referred to Chris by a friend and colleague years ago, and I've lost count how many times I've brought different Macbooks (2012, 2018) and and an iMac (2011) in for Chris to service since. Each time he was fast and he gauges complzetion time accurately. Also great communication about status, parts shipments, and upfront about fees and parts from the start. Tests machine thoroughly even upon pick up, and the one time that a Macbook would not start after returning it, he was quick to determine it was a faulty replacement battery and replaced it again right away with a battery that worked. I was going to recycle a couple of old desk top computers. I was originally going to use those "Geek" people at a large electronics store. I tried to get an appointment but it was not worth the effort. I called these folks, a small, family run business and was very happy I did. Dropped off the computers to extract the files. $50 to see what could be done. Ok. Got called a little later, very reasonable price, including an external drive to store the data. Bottom line, great service, very reasonable charge. All done in less than 3 hours. Very happy with them. I still have a couple of computers to go, will be back. Highly recommend them. Chris does a great job. I had a Mac laptop that needed a new battery. The hinge was also damaged, so it would not shut closed all the way. It was also dirty on the inside. Chris installed the battery and replaced the hinge, for a fair price. He also cleaned through the inside at no charge. All done by the next day. Very fast, efficient service. You know I personally would caution anybody from using this shop to do any kind of repairs or purchases or anything from this guy. I don't like the fact that when you call this guy on the phone and he gives you an estimate on the phone and as soon as you walk in the door he whips out a piece of paper and tells you that there's going to be a diagnostic fee and then a separate repair fee and then he tries to nickel-and-dime you and show you all kinds of add-ons that you don't even need hard drives laptop chargers and whatever okay total rip-off he overcharged Me by $40 plus tax on a $50 fee for a charger that didn't need as soon as I got to my office to test it out the charger didn't even work it took another week in order to return the charger I had to go through all this Hassle and go back to his office over four times you know it's just ridiculous and a waste of time I could have just taken my laptop to a real professional laptop repair service and they would have had it done no questions asked flat fee in the door out the door and you're done you don't walk away with the feeling that you being ripped off or robbed. Sometimes I really hate having to do business with these little mom-and-pop shops where the husband or wife or just hanging out together in the shop in the store all day together you know I try to do business with them I want them to succeed and the first thing they do is rip you off you know how can you continue to build your business when every customer that walks in your door you're going to rip the guy off you know he's never going to come back and then you've lost just lost a customer these people don't understand that the way you succeed in business is when you have repeat customers coming back over and over and also they invite their friends and you build a network of customers that way but no they'd rather just rip you off for $50 and call it a day read more

This is my second time that I'm utilizing Chris's services. The first time (some years ago) it was a hard drive crash, and he recovered the data, made the thing to work like nothing happened. (Thanks!!!) Five stars. Highly recommended. ***In early February 2022, my daughter's laptop could not be powered up. Brought it to the computer service department of a big box electronic store (actually a wholly owned subsidiary of the big box store) on a Tuesday afternoon. When I spoke with the tech at the big box store, I learned that I had to make an appointment to drop-off the laptop to be inspected and repaired. I made an appointment to come back the next day to drop off the laptop to have the problem diagnosed; mind you, I was already in the store with the defective laptop when I had to make the appointment to return the next day. Not only did I have to make an appointment to return to the big box store with the laptop, I also learned that the service department did not repair hardware, and if that was the issue, the laptop would have to be sent out to be repaired by a third party, which would take 3 to 6 weeks to complete. ***After leaving the big box store, I found CompuWiz using Google, drove there with the laptop and spoke with Chris. Chris suspected the problem may lie with the laptop's motherboard, but could not be sure until he had a chance to inspect the computer. Chris quoted me a price for the inspection and told me he would call back the same day. True to his word, Chris called and texted me back on the same day. He explained the problem did lie with the motherboard and give me options and costs for the fix. At the end, I elected to buy a new laptop and have Chris migrate the apps and data from the old laptop to the new one. I dropped off the new laptop with Chris after I purchased it, and was told by Chris that it would be ready the following day. Chris actually completed the work the same day. It has been a few months now and, per my daughter, the new laptop is working fine. ***The key take away with CompuWiz and Chris is that they were able to provide very timely, responsive and competent service; especially when compared to the big box store. Note, the tech who helped me at the big box store was very nice and competent. She actually took the time to try and power up the laptop, and she did suspect the problem was with the motherboard. The problem was not with the tech at the big box store; rather, the problem was with the size of the big box store. Because of its size, the big box store has had to implement certain protocols in order to provide its services; protocols which make it very frustrating to use, let alone access. ***CompuWiz and Chris did a great job, would definitely recommend. read more
