I visited Kaddy's to get help on troubleshooting my desktop computer problems. I had bought a new computer at Costco and I was having trouble connecting dual monitors to the computer. They were very helpful, cost conscious, and knew just what my problem was pretty quickly. I have connected dual monitors up before but it was not happening for me this time. Turned out I needed a special adaptor specific to the video connection on the back of my computer. They had the adapter and I left with my problem solved and a new $ 15 part. What a fantastic place with truly experienced techs to help you back up again! I have a beautiful iMac 27inch 5k, and it was running slow. The old hard drive wasn't cutting anymore and I wanted to upgrade to an SSD. Called around and some repair shops were charging me an outrageous number, talking about how it was no longer a good computer and that they didn't make parts for it anymore. They were lying to my face. Reached out to Kaddy via Yelp messages and saw their reviews, I was told sure they could do it and broke down a fair price. Packed my precious up and headed down to Whittier. The staff was so courteous and knowledgeable, they told me it could be done that day but more than likely by next morning. Which it was, when I got out of work I headed down and they showed me the speed difference and I was ready to go. I was so impressed with Kaddy's. I took my janky self-built PC in to have my GTX 1080 swapped out for an RTX 2080ti that I'd bought on eBay, and couldn't figure out how to install myself. They did a great job. they cleaned the inside, they updated the drivers, and they were able to put the case's side panels back on properl. They had just been detached, and leaning against the otherwise open case. I'm not a PC expert, and it was nice to take my system in, and it be upgraded much better than I could have done. I think it was $90, but definitely worth it for the headaches I avoided. I'd use them again for another upgrade that I can't figure ou myself, and highly recommend you give them a shot, too. In time of need and desperation, Kaddy's Computer Repair came to my rescue. I had a laptop that got wet when someone accidentally spilled their water directly to it. The laptop turned off immediately (i was working on it). We tried everything to make sure it turns on again but it didn't. Called Samsung for our warranty but it expired already. Called to schedule a repair service more than 10 times but no one was answering. That is when I turned to Yelp and found this place. I called, explained the situation and was told they could fix it. The "Expert" broke my computer. I came in for an estimate on a cpu fan replacement. That's it, no work, no new parts, just wanted an estimate price on replacing just the cpu fan as that's the error message I get when I booted it up and now because I took it to Kaddy's it's broken and I can't even use it. Regardless if an estimate can be done over the phone, I came in and asked for an estimate, was told to pay a fee, and now have been returned my property (that they took apart without asking me) in non-operational order. I never gave them permission to take apart my computer to work on or test anything that's what irks me most of all. I just wanted an estimate on a cpu fan replacement. -KADDY TECHNICIAN CONFIRMED COMPUTER WORKED WHEN DROPPED OFF -OWNER KARIM CONFIRMED WHEN DOING AN ACT THAT WASN'T REQUESTED THEIR TECHNICIAN DID BREAK DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE MACHINE AND IT DOES NOT NOT WORK ANYMORE. *see attached photos. They charge a $40 diagnostics fee no matter what to look at your computer and give you an estimate on what repair you want done. No big deal because if you chose their service that $40 is then deducted from your total bill. I paid the diagnostic fee, and dropped off my computer. No issues. I get a call days later by "The Expert" and he said 2 things to me on the phone that made me immediately decide I was going right there to pick my computer back up. 1. That he broke pieces of my computer when he removed those pieces from the computer and that it was not his fault; they broke because of x,y,z. 2. They can fix that too for an additional charge. Regardless of whatever x,y,z is; the piece(s) that are now affected and broken is not the CPU fan; which was the reason I brought it in and what I paid for an estimate on in the first place. Again emphasis on estimate, not any work done, just wanted an estimate on replacing the cpu fan and now my whole computer doesn't work because of Kaddy's Computer repair "Expert" In my opinion if I took my car in to get an ESTIMATE on fixing the air conditioning, and the mechanic broke something in the engine while trying to LOOK at the air conditioning unit and give an estimate then that company is should fix their mistake, but Kaddy doesn't care about it at all. Despite being told by "the expert" that I can come and pick up my computer if I don't want them to fix it; when I arrived at the store later that day I was not allowed to pick it up because at that point it was disassembled an hour before closing time. 6pm. Regardless if I "hung up on the phone " He told me my computer was ready and I could come and pick it up prior to me hanging up, so why was it disassembled when I arrived? I was then made to wait approximately 30-40 minutes after arrival at the store later that day before I could then take my computer home. For them to reassemble it when I never asked for it to be taken apart in the first place. Just an estimate. I didn't ask for money back, nor do I care about $40. I care that he broke my computer and doesn't even feel bad, or apologize and that's why I took the time to write this out. It's just not right. I am sorely disappointed in everything to do with this interaction and Kaddy's Computer repair company and wouldn't recommend to anyone! :( A simple google search would have resolved this without any sort of tampering with my computer. Now I have to replace my entire computer because Kaddy's "Expert". Sincerely, A guy who knows computers, has built his own, but isn't a self-declared "expert". Went in to fix a crash that keeps recurring on my son's gaming pc.. they reformat it, install pro windows, we get home it crashes again. Take it back, it's sits there for a few days again. They showed me it was on, I didn't see a crash. Took it home and now it crashes a few hours again nonstop. These guys went the extra mile to figure out what was wrong with my son's laptop. It first appeared to be a bad component because there were some burn marks near/on it, so they replaced it. When that did not fix the problem, they spent more time troubleshooting to ultimately find out it was a bad ram stick. The tech told me he should of swapped the ram first because a lot of the time that is what is likely the problem, but the symptoms did not act like bad ram. They did not charge me an extra for the component swap! I felt bad for him since I can tell he spent more time on this than he should have for the amount I was actually charged, so I gave him some extra money as a thank you. read more

The pricing did not change even though it was something he quoted me months ago. The battery connector detached from the board. It needed to be solder back on. They gave me 2 different quotes, one quote if they can solder the connector successfully and another quote IF it cannot be solder and a new motherboard is needed. If you are looking for a PC diagnostic's place, this place is legit! Service was great! When I took my PC in, they helped do a quick diagnostic and offered me to take it back home to see if I can fix it myself free of charge after finding the error codes. It is $40 for diagnostics and if they need to do repairs or anything more, the $40 goes towards it. For example, if they had to get you a support stand for the GPU, and the total cost was $60, you'd pay $20 when you pick it up. They were up front about the cost and gave me a range depending on what the problem was. I highly suggest you try to get videos and pictures of the problem you are having with your PC to show them. This review is based on 2 positive encounters using Kaddy's Computer Service. I use yelp message to schedule both appointments and bought my own hard drive and network devices (upon Kaddy's recommendation). The 1st encounter was in March 2020: I use Kaddy's service to transfer data from early 2000s tower to a hard drive. The service turnover time is less than 24 hours. I dropped off my tower at their office on the evening before and my data is ready by the next afternoon. The folks at the office are mostly younger guys but they were professional in their interaction with me. Estimated time of completion was reasonable and the price was good (I went on the week when everyone started to work from home around mid March 2020). The 2nd encounter was on Sept 2, 2021: I use Kaddy's service to set up network mesh in my house, and fix connection issues with wireless printers. I received a phone call and a text reminder 24 hours before my appointment time. Karim came to my house on-time and did everything swiftly. Karim is very professional and communicated every bit of things I need to know. The price charged was commensurate to the service provided.
