I dropped off my old laptop for diagnosis after is started shutting off randomly. Micky spent quite a bit of time diagnosing the issue and concluded that it was the motherboard. Instead of trying to upsell me or charge me an arm and a leg to fix it, he immediately advised me that it would not be worth my time or money to try to fix it. When your laptop/PC shows the Blue Screen Of Death, you are most likely to panic or get a minor heart attack. Well something close to that. I've messaged several places on Yelp to see who can fix this. Some replies were going to cost me $30 just to diagnose the laptop. One reply was we charge $125 an hour to fix a computer or laptop. I was like $125 an hour? What in the flying monkies are you doing to my laptop for an hour that is going to cost me $125? Also, I didn't want to go to the Geek Squad cause I've been down that route, and Geek Squad can't fix jack shizzles even for $99.99 a year or so. I forgot the cost but it's close to that. Mickey from Alpha Computer's is helpful, sincere and honest person. I went to him right away because he said to just bring it in and didn't even charge me. He had my computer for a few hours, call me back after he came back from his lunch break, and told me he couldn't find anything wrong with it. He said you are most likely to just need to replace the hard drive because it's old. He then told me, if you want me to have a deeper diagnosis you can leave it here for a day, and I'll run a few more tests. He said he can give me a call back the next day to pick it up. I told him Yes, please do. The next day comes, I gave him a call actually just to see how it was going. Mickey, with such patience's, told me my laptop was ready. He told me it's definitely your hard drive cause your laptop is 8 years old, and the hard drive needs to be replaced. He told me he left it on all night, and he couldn't find anything wrong with it. He didn't see the BSOD popped up either. I was like ok. About 30 minutes later, I went to go pick up my laptop, and he said bring it in when you are ready to get it fixed. Mickey could've told me I had a million things wrong with my laptop. I've had it happened before with my other PCs and Laptops in the past. For a person like me who doesn't know shizzles about technology, people can tell and will try to rob my bank account. Mickey was honest. Also, I had to buy a Wifi connector for my other PC because it was old and it runs on Ehinternet. Mickey told me I can bring in the PC box and he can install it for me at his shop. He said that way you know it works, and you can tell right away because I can connect it to my wifi here. I rushed back to my house which is nearby and brought my PC back, have Mickey set it up and YAY! $27.50 well spent and my PC had internet now! Mickey is definitely a sincere and honest business man. I'm going to wait a little before I get the new hard drive because I'm usually busy on the weekdays. He closes on the weekends which kind of sucks for my schedule. I'm only off on weekends. The weekdays I got projects to run. If you are looking for affordable place to fix your laptop/desktop, Alpha Computer's is definitely the place to be. It will definitely be my new place to be. He gave me suggestions, like I can buy a new laptop and I'll get a brand new hard drive for sure, or if I'm loving my old laptop still, I can just replace the hard drive. In fifteen minutes, he took my laptop apart and got it back to life I told him to order the worn parts and he said that I could continue to use the laptop till the parts came. After last hassling experience at another store, the owner kept my laptops for more than a month long and gave me a whole bunch of ridiculous excuses, I reached out a couple more computer shops. I almost gave up having my laptops fixed, until came across Alpha Computers and spoke to the owner, Micky. My both laptops could not power on properly. If I wiggled the power cord connections, the power-on light was intermittently on and off. The DC jack was possibly broken. One of the two had additional audio jack and VGA D-sub broken. The same day I walked into the store, Micky said he had a DC jack component at hand. I handed him the laptop in the morning. He called me in the afternoon - the unit was ready! Next day I handed Micky the other unit that has additional audio jack and VGA D-sub connector broken.
