I just want a practical and price effective solution to my issue, not an overpriced geek squad dude who takes longer to get scheduled than my actual issue. Dale, however, came to the salon I work at and ( in a little under an hour) he had my Wifi quandry figured out. I had messed up the utility or something and he simply redid my utility tool bar and explained to me what I needed to do to use my Wifi. Thus saving me extra internet charges for when I want to use my netbook when I have eaten up data with streaming movies-(yah, I have unlimited on the smartphone but sprints additional tech line has a data cap.) If I am about to leak over my data limit, I will traverse to a starbucks or other free wifi to get my extra work or movie watching done there. Dale didn't only just show me in person, he followed up with a detailed, idiot proof email on what he reviewed with me. Now granted, not every job can be easily summed up in a quick email but the added touch was unexpected and reassuring. I will never call one of those corporate box store techno brats ever again. Dale is much more patient and understanding. I recommend Tech Shop to anyone who has felt disenfranchised by traditional PC support!

Our former employer touted their praises time and time again. We have since moved to a new (nationwide) company and came across a possible business destroying issue with my husbands Microsoft Outlook. We worked with our current company's IT department (a staff of 9) and made it all the way to the top of the chain with our issue and were ultimately told that there was nothing they could do and we had essentially 'lost' about 90% of his contacts built over the past 10 years. Fortunately/unfortunately, my iPhone's microphone had stopped working just the day before, meaning that I could hear people talking but they couldn't hear me, so I had a chance to give Tech Lab a try. The building is very Columbia City-ish with plenty of parking. Inside, there were large screens posting info about their vast services (don't judge them about the extra "L" in the word "follow"--they're going to fix it. It's not nearly as noticeable as when a Chinese menu has the word "shrimps" on it.) I was greeted by Charles, who looked very smart--and not just because he was wearing glasses. I told him about my dilemma--my new Hans Solo in carbonite case didn't protect my phone from a fall and phone back itself cracked. I attribute it to the fact that Hans was in carbonite. If his hands and legs were free, I'm sure Hans would have been able to shoulder-roll onto the floor. After some entertaining banter, I left Hans in good hands with Charles. I was given an initial quote and an ETA. He even called me partway through to tell me that he tested my phone parts in other phones and other parts into my phone to see if he could isolate the issue. Awesome. I was just thinking he would see the part was broken and replace it--but he went above and beyond at no initial cost. When he called later, he sounded apologetically grim: My motherboard was damaged. The motherboardin' motherboard. A death sentence to something replaceable like an iPhone. Apple had told me that my phone could be upgraded for $150 (but I'm waiting for the Fiiiiiiiiiive!) so I'm going to wait until I can't tolerate not talking on the phone. This may be a good time for me to work on my ESP skills anyways. Even more amazing, my final bill was less than HALF the original quote that I was given. And it wasn't the lower bill that blew me away, it was the goodwill behind it. I felt the love *fist pump* So in conclusion, this is the place to be. So clear out the [*ahem*] questionable content on your devices and bring 'em on down. Don't forget to "like" them on Facebook so you can get $5 off of your first service with them. Looked them up here on yelp, read the reviews, and called them to make sure they seemed normal. I dropped off my iPhone, picked it up a couple of hours later, and it was perfect!
