After an initial pleasant and helpful first phone call, I took my desktop Imac into PC Mobile. Rob discussed with me what could be wrong with my really slow-to the point of useless computer and what could be done to fix it. He made several recommendations depending on what they found during their check out. Within a couple hours, Rob called me back with some initial diagnostics and suggested removing a security software know to slow computers and adding a new security software, adding some additional RAM and updating the operating system. Changing out the hard drive to a solid state unit was discussed but Rob suggested it wouldn't be an economical choice since I have an older machine. This was on Saturday. Monday I picked up my computer. A different person, Kevin, explained exactly what was done and some options when I start looking for a new computer. When I got home and started my computer up, it was like a new machine. Things loaded quickly and I didn't have to spend hours watching the beach ball turn. They charged me an hours tech time plus RAM which was more than fair. And a few day later, I got a follow up call to make sure everything was working. When was the last time you got a follow up call? In January my Lenovo ThinkServer decided not to turn on. I can't operate with out it, so I drove it down to IT Headquarters and their crack tech immediately thru my machine up on the bench and had the failed power supply diagnosed and replaced withing 20 minutes. Barb, took good care of me at the front desk and within 30min and $93 I was headed home with a working machine. What happened next is the reason I'm writing the review. On tuesday (a month and a half later) the same machine starts giving me problems so I take it back and again Kevin makes time for me immediately and after a bit more trouble shooting we again replace the new power supply. It seems they don't make power supplies like they used to. Anyway this time the service was free! What a great value. You can't get that type of service at Fry's or Amazon. I am a computer amateur, but I work in customer service so I know good service. PC Mobile help gives it. Coincidentally they are also fantastic with computers. My Sony Vaio used to run windows Vista and I had to have it reformatted 2 years ago, so when I brought it in I was just hoping to get a few more months of use out of it before I bought a new laptap. That is no longer the case, thanks to PC Mobile help I have Windows 7 now and my laptop is running better than when it was brand new. I also didn't lose a byte of data, all of my documents, photos and music were returned and then the Technician Danon showed me where to find it. He also took the time to demonstrate how to use my new operating system and give me some tips. Can't say enough about their outstanding customer service, and value! I was backed up against the Win XP one-year of support and then... or pony-up and buy a new package, thanks to an attack of malware that rendered my PC useless... Had to go with the new gig... but was dreading the time factor of what that entailed. I used PC Mobile for years--since before there was an office. Recently, I needed a minor repair on my laptop and took it elsewhere, because it was Sat. and PC Mobile was closed. Big mistake. WS Computer on Calif. Ave. took care of the repair ok, but it took over a week, cost close to $200, and, after telling me my free security software had worked perfectly and given me total protection, suggested replacing it with a new one costing $50/month. When I got the laptop home, it wouldn't connect to my WiFi. When I called them--no help. I called PC Mobile. Jim tried to walk me through the repair on the phone. It didn't work, so I took it in. Yes, Rob and crew are as good as it gets. I was tired of not being able to get the video from my Spanish class to work so I could finish the course in the last week. This is when you need your computer,right, in the last week of the term. So I took my laptop to Rob to see if his staff could find out what was wrong and get the video to work,....AND return it in time for me to study for my last test. Yes they did.... I got my computer back and running in just a few hours. The video now runs fine, and 2 mal-ware items were deleted from the computer. I couldn't be happier with them. Their prices are quite reasonable - often beating prices of other computer consultants. The staff is professional, kind to those who may not have their level of knowledge, and reliable. Interestingly, it isn't always necessary to even drag a cranky computer into their shop: they can connect remotely over the Internet while talking on the phone with the owner and deal with things remarkably efficiently. Kevin is awesome! When I thought all was lost and my only option was to spend hundreds of dollars and deal with shipping my computer across the country I decided to try PC Mobile Help. Kevin sat down with me and took the time to understand the problem and quoted me at a fair price. The next day the office staff called me to say my computer was ready. When I picked it up they told me Kevin had come in for a little while on his day off to work on my computer and get it ready for me. I called PC Mobile Help after calling the first listed PC repair shop in West Seattle on Yelp, only to have them not return my phone call. So I called PC Mobile Help, and their receptionist called me twice--good customer service! My poor laptop was in dire straits, and the folks at PC Mobile Help kept at it. At one point, I expressed some frustration at how long it was taking, and how expensive it was getting. At that point, Rob, the owner, listened to my frustration, and worked out a deal with me that was very satisfactory. I called these guys today because one of our laptops was failing to boot. I was just calling to find out how much it would cost to diagnose the problem and how long it would take. Rob kindly gave me the information, and then offered to do a little troubleshooting on the spot over the phone. Within a couple of minutes he had figured out and fixed the problem! He saved me a trip and it was on the house. Rob definitely knows his stuff and it was very impressive how quickly he zeroed in on the root cause and directed me through the simple steps to correct it. I am a writer, so when my computer crashed yesterday, I was pretty panicked that I had lost the manuscript I was working on. Has to be the best place for help wtih your pc. I went and got a refeb computer. Glen was so helpful. He created a kids account on it with parent contols.. I had a issue on my end.. my kids wanted to install a game and I needed to update our driver in order to install this game. Glen connected to my pc from his office and fixed the problem for us right away. With in a weeks time.,, I had download so much extra stuff that I didn't need..oops! I blamed it on my kids : ). My computer was rendered useless by a serious malware attack. I looked these guys up on Yelp and saw the good reviews. The good reviews are well deserved. I dropped my computer off and they took care of the problem, tuned up my computer and gave me some new computer maintenance programs and recommendations to try and fend off future problems.
