I came in because the Yelp page says free estimates and I wanted to figure out how much it would cost for them to replace my WiFi card. I had an issue with one of my laptops hinges where part of the plastic is sticking out in the bottom right corner of the monitor because the hinge is partially broken. When the employee and I are talking I say that I'm not here to get the hinge fixed, the employee says it'll get worse, and while we're talking he pulls on the plastic that was sticking out, pulling it out farther than it's ever been for no reason. He also informed me that estimates were not free because I had an internal issue, and that an estimate would cost $99. I left. I couldn't see it well from my angle at the time, but after getting home I see that the hinge problem is much worse and now I have to consider going somewhere else in the hopes that wherever I go next will not damage my laptop to get more money out of me.

Fine at first BUT a week in I started to experience problems: 1. Camera condensation on both lenses-- my phone was not near any water at work and there was fogging in my camera from the inside. Over time internal corrosion as a result and my phone wouldn't turn on. I NEVER had this issue PRIOR to this repair so WHY are you blaming the customer? 2. Flickering screen-- LCD problem. TELL ME why am I having this already after a recent screen replacement? Paid $50 and took it to a repair shop in Auburn after my phone won't turn on and they said whoever fixed your phone did a CHEAP job and they should do customer service recovery because 1. It wasn't sealed properly and a cheap adhesive was used. and 2. Cheap quality LCD used during replacement. While they offered 250 to repair they thought it'd be more cost efficient for me to pursue service recovery with the original shop. Their customer service was LAUGHABLE: only fix the screen for 209! I rather pay more and get it done at a place that was more honest and less shady! Better yet maybe just get a used phone because the cost is almost as much as my repair.The auburn location even offered a better price if I did choose to pursue them too. They delivered 2 bins rather than 1 (which of course they charge us for both, even though we said all along we only wanted 1). They refused to take the 2nd bin away even though my colleague was there when they delivered them, saying we needed to call Iron Mountain to arrange a pick-up for the second bin (again, even though the people delivering the bins were RIGHT THERE). This was several months ago and we still have not been able to get them to come pick up our 2nd bin. Then, they have continued to show up unannounced to pick up our shredding materials. Due to HIPAA, any confidential patient materials must be behind 2 locks. So of course we do not have our shredding bin in a public spot that they would be able to access. Each time they arrive at our office unannounced and we are not immediately available to let them in (or even aware that they are there), we get charged $75 for a missed attempt!! It's so maddening. We are psychologists so we are with clients when they arrive. We aren't just sitting around waiting for Iron Mountain to show up unexpectedly. And then whenever we try to contact customer service to resolve any of these issues, no one has any record that we've called before, we get assigned a new case number, and nothing ever changes. Now we have been trying to cancel the service entirely for several weeks. They keep saying they will come to pick up the bins, give us a date 2 weeks out, and then they don't arrive. Meanwhile they continue to stop by to pick up our shredding (and no doubt to charge us additional money). This company is a total scam!! I hope this review can save someone else the trouble of working with them.

With careless prudence, I watched some YouTubes and attempted to retrieve the data myself (I even used a magnetic bit on the screws) - FAIL! My wife was in a panic and I was in whatever is beyond the dog house. When I saw that Ace had a Seattle location, I liked the idea of hand-delivering my precious drive (the first place I found was in Canada). I called Ace and was told to ship it to their Texas location since that is where their clean room is located. I appreciated their upfront reasonable/competitive pricing, and sense that they had a team who knew what they were doing and who were capable of salvaging our digital memories. So, I trusted my failed drive to FedEx with the maximum allowable insurance. Ace let me know when they received it, e-mailed me with their findings and their plan. I called the technician to discuss/confirm the plan. Ultimately, Ace recovered EVERYTHING and sent our data back to us on a new external hard drive (and included our old one as well)! I was a little miffed that they sent it USPS with only $50 insurance, but then learned that they keep the electronic data for 5 days in case something goes wrong in the return shipment. BRILLIANT! I don't plan to ever need their services again, but if I do, Ace is the place!
