Computer Link has been my go-to repair place for my Macintosh computers over the years. They are an authorized Apple repair service center and even will make house calls. I have used them over the years to repair my Macintosh laptops and appreciate their proximity in Stockton. Otherwise I would have to take my laptop to Apple in Sacramento or Modesto-both long drives. Our school used them as our local repair place. The service is prompt, the repairs are excellent and I really like having a local place that I can trust. read more

It took FOREVER. I dropped my computer off and 25 days later they still had not even checked out the problem . I called 4 different times asking for an update...nothing. They kept telling me, "it should be done in a couple days" blah blah blah. I gave up and picked the computer back up... someone else will want my business. I have brought my lap top in here a few times. The first time it was fast and affordable. The next three times it was slow and over priced. Tony and Randy said daily they would call back and never did. I had to continually call myself to check progress. Then I went to pick it up and they didn't even fix the issue and still charged me for the work (or lack of) The last time I brought it here was the same issue with the problem not getting resolved and over charged. I went to this place to repair my MacBook Pro. They forgot to put the screws back in the bottom of my laptop. Then when I signed on they had put a password on the computer. So I am not able sign onto the laptop. After paying them to replace the hard drive because it had crashed on me. Doesn't seem right the a right way to do business. They are supposed to a Apple authorized repair dealer. I will be contacting Apple and all other sites. read more

Went in to fix my laptop from blue screens and they did not exactly fix it. I still get blue screens, and it took more than a week to get it back. I see that in their policy, it says that if your equipment wasn't picked up after a certain amount of days, it would not be there anymore. If you didn't call them, you would have no idea if it was being fixed, is fixed, or if they even started it. A week after, my laptop still got problems, and I am short $60. I wish I could give more stars but the service I got does not deserve any more than 1. read more

So, my MacBook Pro had some screen flickering and other weird things was happening and I became very annoyed with my laptop. Upon looking up on Yelp for a good computer place, I found Computer Link! At first I was hesitant to take it in because I was worried that it would cost me a fortune to get my laptop fixed since I was not sure what was wrong and I thought my 1 year warranty had expired. I took a while weighing the option to fix or not fix my laptop. A big push for me to take it in was the fact that finals were two weeks away and I needed a laptop to study. I took a deep breath that day and finally took my laptop to get a diagnostic. I got a call a day or two after dropping off my laptop and they were honest enough to tell me that they couldn't figure out what was wrong especially since there were so many problems with my laptop, so then they suggested to ship it back to the factory and have them look at it. Again, I was hesitant because I was told that it might cost a fortune (which I did not have). All in all, I took the risk of sending it to the factory. Thankfully, Computer Link asked me if I wanted to have my files backed up in case my laptop got reset to factory settings. Like I said previously, I was hesitant but I decided to back it up since I wanted all of my files back. Also, before sending it off, I went back to the store and copied some of my most important documents onto a flash drive. I thought that I was being annoying and that they wouldn't have been too happy for me to do that, but they were more than happy to let me do that. After a few days, I got a call that my laptop was ready. I went to pick it up and I was told that the factory fixed everything free of charge and I was super stoked because I found out that I still had a few days of warranty left! WOOHOO! I felt like the luckiest girl that day since I saved like 600+ dollars! When it came time to pay, I only paid $60 for backing up all of my files. They did not charge me for labor or anything else since they were not able to fully diagnose the problem and had to send it to Apple. I am not sure if the price of backing up my files were expensive, but I was happen to see that I got all of my files back when the laptop came back into my hands. Overall, they were fair, honest and provided excellent service. Because of my experience with them, I think they deserve 5 stars! :) In case people wonder about turn around time, I thought that I got it back fairly quickly. It took 1.5 weeks for me to get my laptop back. To me, it seemed reasonable since it took them a couple days to diagnose, a few days for me to make my decision, a day or two to ship my laptop to Apple, a few days to have the computer technicians at Apple to look at it and make repairs, and then a day or two to get it back to Stockton. I was a happy camper when I got my lovely laptop back! It was a few months ago and my laptop is running as if it was new again! Seriously, I think my laptop would have been dead by now if I did not take it to them to look at it. If I have problems with computers, I would definitely come back to Computer Link and have them look at it. I would recommend my friends to come here too if they have issues with their computers or laptops. read more

This place is a hidden gem for all your computer and printer fixing needs in Stockton! I took my MacBook here on Friday and received it the following Tuesday. Diagnosis= bad hardrive and needed a new replacement. They even copied my files onto a new one and didn't charge me an arm and a leg! 1. Phenomenal customer service. I asked how long the repair would take, they said "a few days, like less than a week." They called me back after two weeks. Besides this, everything was great. The people are very friendly and helpful there. They seem to really know what they are doing. I agree with the previous review in that they don't rip you off. Prices are pretty reasonable. read more

AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COST!!! My MacBook pro kept crashing. I found a repair extension for my MacBook model on Apple's website and wanted to know if my laptop qualified. Apple's website said to take it to an Apple Store or a certified apple service provider. Rather than driving to Modesto or Sacramento to the Apple Store, I decided to save some time and gas and go with these guys ( I figured they are certified by Apple after all). Huge mistake! They ran some tests and found out my MacBook didn't qualify, which was fine, but since it did not qualify for the free repair extension they charged me $90 for running a few simple diagnostic tests that Apple would have done for free. Bottom line is they didn't fix my problem or tell me anything that i didnt already know, but still charged me $90. Do yourselves a favor and take that 20-40 minute drive to an Apple Retail Store. They will run diagnostic tests on your machines for free. THESE GUYS WILL RIP YOU OFF! I wish I listened to these bad reviews before taking my laptop there. read more

I did not have to wait for an appointment to be available at an Apple store a few hrs away. They have been upfront about the cost estimates (no unexpected surprises). I have been very happy with the service (fixed the problem each time). And all have been done in a reasonable time frame (important as a small business owner). I have the apple extended warranty care plan so much of the service I've gotten for my MacBook Pro has been free. I've brought my computer in approximately 3-4 times over the last 3 years for various problems and checkups. These guys do a great job everytime! Usually it's finished within a couple of days, but when they have to order a part it takes a bit longer. I've never waited more than about 5 business days. And when they call to tell me to pick it up they explain the problem with obvious skill and knowledge. I also had my parents Dell laptop "cleaned" because it was not working & full of viruses. I can't remember but I think I paid $90. I don't know if that's a good rate but it runs like brand new and I had peace of mind that they'd take good care of it based on my past experience. If you're price sensitive you can call beforehand and get an estimate. As far as customer service, it's not like over-the-top "pieces of flare" friendly like at Chili's. But for a computer place where you may (unfairly) expect computer people to not be personable, I find them very nice, friendly, competent, and patient. Owner kept his word and replaced my phone case when a tech broke my phone case and proceeded to tell me they aren't supposed to take phones out of cases and shouldn't have received the phone in one and gave no apology. I now know not to hand any tech a phone in a phone case. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR COMPUTER HERE! I use to do business with computer link awhile ago and they we're good people. When I was young I started my own computer repair business handing out flyer's in the neighborhood. Anything I came across that was was a hardware issue which I didn't have the diagnostic tools for I would send to them. Now I hadn't done business with Tony in awhile, but I was busy with work and had my computer go out on me (wouldn't even start-up) so not having the tools to diagnose this problem I took it to them (A HUGE MISTAKE). Tony has turned into a snake rip-off artist. I feel extremely bad for people that don't know about computers, because they have no idea how bad they are getting ripped off. So anyway I asked them to diagnose it & told them I had guessed it was a bad power supply. So, it turned out I was correct, but what they did was replace the part without quoting me a price until after they did the work which I didn't tell them to do. I let that slide, but I also was going to replace my hard drive since the computer in question was very old and had the original hard drive. I was busy with my job so I figured I might as well have them put a new one in and transfer the data. I wanted a 1TB HD, which they said ok. I asked for the price which was way over priced so, I talked to Tony and he said he'd drop it a little and not charge me tax or labor for the transfer. I said ok that's fair. In the end what happened was they couldn't get a 1TB Hard drive to work and had to go with a 500gb and then Tony charged me an outrageous price on the hard drive and Labor. I even asked him in the beginning if it was even worth doing the work since the computer was so old ( 2002). He said ya, and with what I "THOUGHT" he was going to charge was reasonable I went ahead. In the end I PAID LIKE $330.00 BUCKS TO REPLACE A POWER SUPPLY AND PUT A NEW HARD DRIVE IN & TRANSFER DATA FROM THE OLD HARD DRIVE. For those of you that don't no anything about computers for that price I could have bought a brand new lower end computer that would have been 100 times faster then a 2002 computer. So bottom line they are liars, cheats, and everything YOU DO NOT WANT IN A COMPUTER REPAIR SHOP! Just for an example ask them to price an item for you and drive a couple block to best buy, or better yet go on newegg.com and look up the same hard drive, or item they priced for you and you'll see how much they're over pricing items. Then don't even get me started on how they'll screw you over on labor. Last example they told me it was extra labor because they couldnt get the 1TB (1,000GB's) to work on my mother board and worked for so long on it, but my "mother board wouldn't except it". Well people THAT'S A LIE MY COMPUTER RUNS WINDOWS XP AND WINDOWS XP WONT RECOGNIZE 1TB HARD DRIVES ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS KNOW THAT, FEEL FREE TO ASK AROUND. SO I GET CHARGED FOR THEIR IGNORANCE? ON TOP OF IT THEY LIE AND CLAIM IT WAS THE MOTHER BOARD. I could go on, and on, but BOTTOM LINE STAY AWAY TRUST ME! and if not call around and see your self I recommend you call (209) 469-2500 and compare pricing. AND GET YOUR COMPUTER FIXED THERE & STAY AWAY FROM COMPUTER LINK AT ALL COSTS! I have used Computer LInk for many years now with great results on our Mac computers. Also, I have bought a rebuilt 17" MacBookPro laptop from them that looked like new and has performed as good as buying a new one for twice the price. I have recommended them to many friends to consult with them when acquiring a new computer for this "hidden" service. Although I will still drive 40+ miles occasionally to Sacramento or Modesto's Apple retail stores to get their free Genius Bar service on my Macs by Internet appointment, there are still times I am happy to pay Computer Link for their outstanding local service and Mac tech support. read more

took in my macbook thinking the screen was broken and had to be replaced...they charged me $90 for labor and 90$ for the part which i thought was reasonable..they call me about 4 days later and tell me my screen isnt broken and that they didn't need to install a new screen to repair it...they saved me $90, i am very satisfied with their work! read more

I took my two of my computers into office depot for cleaning and tune up. One needed a fan and they do not have such service. They had my other computer for 4days and couldn't fix the problem. Told me that there is another process that they could do and it will cost me about $150.00. I said let me look into it and took it to Computer Link. Computer Link found the cheapest fan that was about $10. and labor cost me $30 a total of about $45 including tax. I was willing to fix it because, I know that I will not be able to get another computer for this price. My other computer, I purchased it at Superior Thift Shop for $100. It's an old model and it has never been updated. It didn't have the wi-fi ability so the technician updated the software and fixed it so that I can use the wireless internet and this is the computer that I am using to type this review right now. It's working perfectly. Computer Link charged me $60 including tax. So this computer cost me a total of $160, is it worth it, I think so. I can't get a computer with a flat screen 12inch monitor for $100 and it works GREAT! Thank you Computer Link for being honest and for putting pride and dignity toward your work. The repair was costly but due to my Apple Care coverage it cost me a total of $0. I'm happy with the service I received and I will return whenever I need repairs. read more
