I replaced the battery for a 2017 Macbook Pro and after a couple of days the black error screen with "Your computer restarted because of a problem" resulted when trying to log in. I was not able to pass the login screen, as the laptop would constantly cycle through the error. Rob determined it was a software issue and he would try to save any files. The solution was to reset with the latest OS, however, previous files were not recovered. This older laptop has the hard drive part of the logic board. In hindsight, I should've backed up the laptop before replacing the battery. Rob did a great keeping me updated on any progress or status. The other day the key on my 2020 MacBook Pro were feeling "sticky." In the past ive brought my apple laptops to a place in Sacramento but this time decided to try someplace local. On a google I found Rob's shop. Brought my computer in yesterday (same day) and as per his ad, he did a free diagnostic. Within a few hours he had a quote for me ; but when I talked to him on the phone he said he didnt notice anything wrong. When I went in to pick up the laptop, he showed me a few technical things I didnt know. He could have charged me for a repair/replacement but , in his honesty, saved me a bunch of money and im back using the unit and it feels fine. My 2TB LaCie Porsche Design external hard drive gave up on me. It wouldn't mount onto my Mac. I'd turn it on, and it wouldn't make a sound. A blinking light was the only sign of life. Everything I love was on this thing, not to mention, some very crucial works in progress. I messaged Rob after 5pm on a Wednesday evening. He replied within the hour. I was there first thing the next morning. Within 10 minutes he did diagnostics, and told me he'd be able to recover my data and transfer it to a new external SSD. The whole process would take 7-8 hours, so I picked it up the following day. He successfully cloned the drive. I'm home with everything intact and functioning again. The labor plus the new SSD came out to a total of $364. All totally worth it. I would have given him my firstborn for the 20 years of data he recovered [I don't have any kids]. I took my 12 years old HP Touchsmart 520 Desktop to Rob due to it not getting to Desktop Screen just hanging, and slow response times when hitting Enter button. Rob repaired my Desktop in 2 days. Yes, I dropped it off Monday afternoon, and it was repaired and ready for pickup before noon on Wednesday. Rob upgraded HD with SSD, and response time is 100% faster. Definitely a 5 star service!! I brought my Mac Book to Rob because the hard drive was erased. (I left it in a motel room and remotely deleted the hard drive to protect my personal data). I did get the computer back but was unable to restore the operating system. I brought it to Rob and he restored like new with the latest operating system! I was able to pick up my computer the next day! Absolutely no issues. I just logged back into iCloud and the computer works like nothing happened! Rob advised me he could not repair our printer. He knew right away that my hp office jet 6958 doesn't have parts available and the board would need replacing. But he can't get the board. HP built these machines to become obsolete. Is that a surprise? No, I have to buy a new printer. Bob advised me over the phone, didn't ask me to bring in the machine, all the advice I need to buy a new machine. And he did not charge me! A stand up.guy! I had a charging issue with my Lenovo laptop that I use for work. I went to the usual IT store that I regularly use, but they could not even look at if for three days. I found Rob's on yelp and called. He said he could look at that day if I brought it in. After troubleshooting the problem that day, he found that the internal battery was bad, and it would not allow both batteries to charge. Evidentially there are two batteries. Due to the age of my laptop, Rob recommended I replace both the internal and external battery. The price quoted for the replacement of both was reasonable so I went ahead with the repair. Rob is awesome!! I took all FOUR of my computers (3 laptops/one desktop) to Rob to download all onto my new laptop. Not only was he quick, he was very reasonable! I had one laptop that had the 'white screen of death'! Rob completely fixed it, but he uploaded the original programs! Rob was recommended to us by a friend as a knowledgeable computer specialist who is also micro soft certified. We recently took our laptop and pc to Rob to check to make sure both devices were in perfect running condition with a current anti-virus program. It was the best decision we made. Rob is personable and very knowledgeable. He brought both computers up to speed and also added Quicken to the laptop as it was already installed in the pc.
