, My son's laptop screen was coming off so I took it to these idiots so they could install a new screen, he charged me 500 dollars up front. I naively thought that he should know what he was doing and a week after that the screen started coming off. When I opened the laptop I saw a hardware store hinge, very badly installed. I took it back and pointed out the shoddy work and he said sorry, your warranty is expired (although he had it for almost the entire warranty period). Then he told me he would charge me ANOTHER 500 DOLLARS to fix the botched repair job he had done. I went through the roof, telling him you wrecked my son's laptop for 500 bucks and now you want another 500 to wreck it again? He had no answer, not surprisingly. I will never go back to that incompetent thief. I went the Travis AFB exchange and bought my son a new laptop. Problem solved. read more

I went here when my computer was acting rather strange. I didn't want to go to a big box store and was happy to see there was an option for a place that had more of a small business feel. When I took my computer in, they listened to all of my issues. They even asked questions that made me remember other issues and I felt they really listened to me. I was advised of a 3-4 business day turn around for repairs. They called me back before the 3-4 days and advised me of what they were doing and what they recommended. They should have an option for no stars and that is what I would give them. I thought my battery was on its last leg, but the folks at Batteries +Bulbs checked my battery and power cord and said they were both fine. So off I go to what used to be the Solano Computer Guy, but is now called Tech 2 you, to have them check it out. It was not a good experience. They wanted me to leave it for 3-4 days..I opted for the priority service, 1-2 business days for $50. So I get a call from them telling me that I needed way more than I asked for. They gave me 2 quotes, one for around $900 and another for a little over $1,000. They said I need Windows 11, data backup, the hardware to replace the charging port. They priced themselves right out of my business because I could get a really nice brand new laptop for less. read more

Very helpful place so say the least. I was having problems with my laptop charging and Best Buy wanted nothing to do with me and made up a bogus excuse as to why I should buy a new computer (didn't look at it). I subsequently took my laptop to the SCG, and they opened up my laptop, reconnected my battery and ran a diagnostic and sure enough it began working like normal. I want to give these guys a glowing 5 star review. They have customer service that goes above and beyond today's standards. They even texted me and emailed me back about the assessment of the job that needed to be done in real time as they were checking my rig out. They have a no nonsense and no bs policy when it comes to telling the customer what's wrong with the computer. And the diagnosis of what was wrong with the computer was free ... Heres where things got weird: I know a modest amount about custom computers and how to fix them. I just wanted these guys to fix it because I simply just dont have time to invest in that sort of thing anymore. I came in with a CPU fan failure and what I already suspected might be a SATA failure on my hard disk. Turns out that's almost exactly what was wrong with it. Turns out the liquid cooling pump that chills my overclocked processor was busted. Could have been replaced for around $50. A new 2 TB Solid state drive would have costed somewhere in the neighborhood of $175 if I bought it brand new on new egg, possibly. Cheaper on amazon or ebay. That would have brought the parts total to around $225, $240... With parts and labor they wanted to charge me an ASTRONOMICAL $760. That is TWICE what my Alienware from 2011 is currently worth. Now I know these small places need money to operate...but common guys. I've replaced both of these parts on my own and I could do it in the space of less that an hour. They want to get the stock parts which take at least a week to ship. I know you gave me a free diagnosis, but that's just beyond the stars, beyond the planets and over the moon expensive. I thought I was offered $360 out the door, and I thought even that was on the pricey side... but I misheard. I hope that if the employees are reading this review, that you know that pricetag ($760) for a cooling unit replacement and 1 or 2 TB SSD is just bonkers expensive and unacceptable by today's standards. I'm sorry I dont have that kind of money laying around to fix an aging rig. But I wish you the best in the future going forward. read more

Very impressed with the service provided at Tech 2U. Our daughter had coffee spill on her Macbook keyboard and it stopped working. Rob checked it right away and said it might need a new keyboard, but they'd need a few days to know for sure and go over everything thoroughly. Got a call from Rob last night, said he went through (tested) everything and it was now working - apparently by having it sit for a week, everything dried out and ultimately no damage occurred. What's great is that because it was now working, there was no charge at all - none. That's incredible - any other shop would charge some kind of fee for testing all components multiple times, etc. Never expected that we'd end up with no out of pocket costs. Good place to get your computer fixed. I took my computer to get checked because the display was not turning on. They diagnosed the issue and said it was the Mother board and it was too expensive to fix that old laptop. They told me that they can just back up the drive and give it back to me. It took 2.5 days to get my computer back and they are a little pricy but excellent customer service. They are very professional and call you with any issues they may experience. They are excellent I would recommend them just know they have an hourly fee plus equipment. They are a little pricy than other shops but worth going for their service. read more

Our desktop computer broke down and I looked on yelp for the best place to fix it. I am glad the computer is fixed but disappointed in the price. Be ready to wait for turn around time. Be ready turn pay a hefty fee. The people there seemed nice and we called in to be informed. I expected it to be expensive but not sure it would have been this much. Originally we needed to order a special part because of the computer problem. $190 for the part precharged. This is in addition to the $80 initial fee. Well it turned out to be a power issue instead (which they stated wasn't the initial problem). The price dropped because they needed new cheaper parts but then we had an additional labor cost. $80 for an initial evaluation, $40 for an additional labor and parts - turned out to be $300 bill They do seem busy and I can understand the long turn around time. I also know that things sometimes don't turn out to be what you thought (different problems than diagnosed). I had no idea that it would be that expensive to fix a power issue on a computer. read more

I came here to purchase a 8gb memory ram from 4gb for my MacBook Pro. He offered $95.90 and all 8gb is in one memory card therefore the second is 2gb which will leave me 10gb total. If I could give them NO STARS,I WOULD!!!! I went to the office located on Travis AFB. For some reason this service tech HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT HE IS DOING. I brought my laptop to him because it would not turn on at all. I had already advised him that the Geek Squad at Best buy said that the computer's hard drive had failed. I guess he went with that because he told me ( after having my computer for a couple of days) that the hard drive was completely gone and for another 80.00 he would install another used one. OMG are you kidding me? I guess I paid for a diagnosis that was either false or this guy needs to get out of the computer service business. A friend referred me to another company and guess what? I was given a FREE DIAGNOSIS. Come to find out my operating system had failed. So I paid the new company 180.00 to fix it and system recovery. Totally worth it! read more
