If I could give them NO STARS,I WOULD!!!! I went to the office located on Travis AFB. For some reason this service tech HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT HE IS DOING. I brought my laptop to him because it would not turn on at all. I had already advised him that the Geek Squad at Best buy said that the computer's hard drive had failed. I guess he went with that because he told me ( after having my computer for a couple of days) that the hard drive was completely gone and for another 80.00 he would install another used one. OMG are you kidding me? I guess I paid for a diagnosis that was either false or this guy needs to get out of the computer service business. A friend referred me to another company and guess what? I was given a FREE DIAGNOSIS. Come to find out my operating system had failed. So I paid the new company 180.00 to fix it and system recovery. Totally worth it! read more

Go elsewhere!!!!! I decided to ignore the negative reviews and give them a try since it was close to my house. I was charged $160 for a minor problem. There was a 10 day turn around, and I got my computer in 11 days even AFTER I called to see if it was ready. They did the bare minimum, and didn't give me any info on how I could possibly avoid the problem in the future. My computer does weird things that it didn't do before I took it to them, like shut down for no apparent reason. I have had my computer repaired before in Vallejo for half the price, and they even cleaned it at no extra charge. AVOID these guys and ignore the false (cough) I mean positive reviews. read more

I brought my all-in-one HP Touchsmart in because it had died, and Rob was able to take it apart & diagnose it in less than an hour for the minimum charge of $80 (one hour service). He found that the motherboard needed to be replaced, so I bought a new computer. A while back i had dripped some soda on my laptop keyboard and some of the keys were starting to stick. i thought that i could fix it myself by replacing the connectors on a specific key with one i didn't use. needless to say it didn't work and i knew i needed to get it replaced. I bought a replacement keyboard from Dell but to have it fixed by them i'd have to ship it out and it could take 2-4 weeks. So i tried the Geek Squad at Best Buy and they would've had to ship it out as well and it would've taken just as long. Finally i asked my mom to check for places that could do it and she found these guys. In the end it was cheaper than both the geek squad and Dell AND they completed it in 4 days! everything worked out fine and i'm am so happy to finally have a working keyboard and laptop again! I called these guys because my computer crashed last week and I really needed help. The guy who answered the phone first asked if I was a previous customer. I said no but I was being referred by a previous customer. He then said their rates were $89 per hour in a first come basis and they had a lot in right now but emergency rates were $160 per hour. This guy was rude and arrogant . I went to Bits and Bytes in Suisun. They did not charge for diagnostics , told me the truth, had to replace my hard rice as it was corrupted but $220 later my computer is at least completely repaired , new hard drive operating system and office suite. They sent my hard drive to a forensic IT place where I will find out if I can get my data back. Go to Bits and Bytes they are great! read more

I have worked as a system administrator for internet servers for as long as Internet has been called Internet. I have used Computer Guys since back when they were a husband/wife/husband/wife store. This is the only computer store I will recommend to my other admins. Particularly since when they say they will work on computers they really mean computers. You dont get "oh Im sorry we meant PC's running Windows". I have brought them very interesting machines with very interesting problems but they have never failed to amaze me. read more

I wish I didn't put my eggs in one basket & looked for another computer repair service in Solano County, for I wish I can say that I can trust this company, especially if they've been around for over 20 years. Here's my story: Nearly two weeks ago, my laptop was crashing, so I found this company, gave them a call & they said that they can fix the problem & that the turn around time was 3 to 4 days, so I took it in & a man name Rob was going to fix it...and paid the $80, 4 days later I got a call from Rob telling me that the hard drive was "running like crap", barely explained in detail of what's going on & basically told me the price of replacing the hard drive plus labor...I was freaked out about the price of $248.07 (on top of the $80 already paid up front)...but he gave me a discount & charged me $168.07 instead...sounds lovely, right? I thought about it, called back, jumped the gun & told them to fix it, but didn't have a good feeling about it, I had to leave a voicemail later on, asking them to explain the actual problem & the details of what they would do. By the time I came to the shop Rob gave me the full details of the problem, told me he was able to clone my OS (which he failed to mention on the phone), and installed a "new" hard drive, problem solved, right? WRONG! This is one of those "you get what you paid for" type of situations...the keyboard sounded bad, the system was somewhat glitchy when getting on my browser (although that kind of fixed itself), and lastly.......the hard drive was making clickly sounds, mind you, my home is quiet, I use the voice recorder a lot, so to know that I have a not so silent hard drive is not cool. So, I left a voice mail or two explaining in details about the hard drive & how it's very distracting, along with the keyboard & the browser..they told me to take it in, which I did, since it's under warranty I thought something could be done, right? NOPE LOL! When Rob was "testing" it, he thought I was talking about some sound on the computer....no sir lol, in a building like their's, you couldn't hear the problem from the hard drive, I know what I was hearing! So he told me he would do some testing on it, I thought I would get a call...4 days later, I had to call them! Rob told me he didn't find a problem & asked me to show him what the problem was...dude, I told you in the voicemail over a week ago! Left another voice mail repeating what the problem is with the hard drive, and that if I was going to get a noisy hard drive a warning would've been great, basically...and that maybe someone else should've worked on my laptop. Went to the shop just yesterday, he wanted me to test it out, the computer itself is running fine, the keyboard was still not sounding the same, but I had to disregard it, but the again...the hard drive was noisy, once I heard it, I poined it out to Rob & tells me this, "Oh, those are moving parts..."...he shows me the other computers that had hard drive issues as a comparison, and tells me that mines are moving parts & that nothing could be done about it, however they had a high end hard drive that makes no noises, but would've cost 3x more than the one that I have installed...so basically, you installed a cheaper hard drive that makes "moving parts" noises that I have to tolerate?! MOVING PARTS?! My old hard drive wasn't even noisy, but was told that it sounded a lot worse...what?! In conclusion to this long story, I appreciate the discount (although it was a grand total of $248.07, including the $80 up front) but what I don't appreciate was the flaky service, as well as having a now noisy a$$ hard drive, I can't even stay on my laptop too long without that sound grinding my gears, it even echos into my voice recorder, unless I buy an actual mic, I shouldn't have to do that! They did a good job cloning my OS, but wow....I expected a lot from them, but frankly, I'm a HIGHLY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER, I felt like I was ripped off! Now I got to MAYBE take it elsewhere or worse, sell my laptop. :( Don't let their rewards & 20 years of service fool you, go elsewhere. Oh yes, after learning so much about the difference between HHD & SSD, and the simple fact that HHDs that are 1T makes more noises from the moving parts, giving options of drives (& what they do) before the "new" install rather than feeling like I was taking advantage of would've been great, Solano Computer Guy was just all around unprofessional...I'll be taking my laptop to ART Computer soon. read more

We went here a while ago maybe 2years or so. But he is awesome. My husbands computer is very difficult it is specifically made for music production. And we were having trouble with it. And paid at least 500$ everytime we took anywhere and I also cost us a 2-3 weeks just to get it fixed. So much time so much money. So we had very little lose when taking our computer to someone else. Do not take your laptop to these people. They had it for longer than the few days they stated. Once I got it back, it wasn't working right ,they forgot to install the drivers and software. So another week in their shop and I get it back and the mouse plate doesn't work , it feels sticky like they spilled something on it, immediately I call and report this and rather than come clean . He takes a defensive stances and says it wasn't their doing. The refused to pay for the damage. The computer has never worked the same again. I put it in this shop for a tune up only...now the computer freezes up and shuts down. I will never give this guy my business again. I believe they are a rip off and should be shut down read more

Recently I had a problem with my laptop to printer connection. Rusty was kind enough to help me over the phone arrive at a solution without charge. He also was apologetic for my prior problems and assured me my next visit would be much better. I was grateful for the help this time and for his commitment to customer satisfaction. I could certainly recommend Computer Guy now. But keep in mind, you may have to wait a week to get your computer back, unless you wish to pay additional for the faster service. Had an unexpected "Microsoft edge virus" pop up on screen. The message kept looping over & over with a "warning" not to close down or reboot. My laptop was essentially frozen in time. We called The Solano Computer Guy & spoke with Ryan. He knew exactly what I was experiencing. He was extremely patient with me (& my lack of computer technical knowledge...). He immediately walked me through a few simple steps & it was cleared within a few minutes! I didn't want him to stay on line with me while I was waiting for my laptop to update. My power cable connection on my laptop wouldn't make contact, so I wasn't able to charge my computer. The Geek Squad at Best Buy couldn't get a replacement and suffested The Solano Computer Guy. I took it in and they were able to fix it. It took a little over a week and I had to pay an additional (on top of $160) $20 to not have the part take another 3-5 days to be delivered. Our computer got a virus and went blank. We took it to this store which had been in Dixon and other locations for some years. Also, at the recommendation of two friends who stated that the service and Customer service was excellent. I worked with Andrew and explained what occured and what we would like done since it was going into the shop; such as making it run faster etc. He thoroughly checked out the computer as far as possible and explained all he would do to check PC, price quote, warranty, and length of time this would take. He called me each day with an update. It was ready for pickup in less than 5 days. He explained the virus, recommend a virus software (same one my government job uses). He was able to save all files and programs, fix damage done, and he improved the computer by putting most settings back to where they belonged (since I changed most on my own). He was one of the most personable and customer serivce oriented people encountered in a long time. Mostly he was honest and upfront about what their business could and could not do.
