I have not found anyone who understands the inner workings of Apple's Macintosh and has always fixed any problem I've had. Don ordered my last Mac and was extremely glad I went through him because he saved me money by handling the order. PS: doesn't charge a fortune. A satisfied client Jim Hilsabeck Napa read more

Don knew how to sync my printer and computer; checked my computer for un-needed, unwanted, suspicious files. He was timely and his fee was justified by his great work. I'll be checking in with him in the future. read more

A Rotten Apple I came up to Napa for the weekend and realized I left my Mac power cord at home. I Googled and found Napa One, the only local Apple sales or service place for miles around. Don, the owner and only technician, said he had a power cord that would be $70.04 with tax -- and he'd leave it on the porch. It's just about what you pay at the Apple store, so I went for it. I took a Lyft to his cute Victorian house, grabbed the cord off his porch and left the cash. But the cord he sold was used and scratched up and it didn't have the long part of the cord with the 3-prong plug. I called and told him I was disappointed with the purchase and tried to negotiate a lower price for a used half-cord. He refused and said I could take my money and go to Apple if I didn't like it. Not at all what I would expect from a small town business man or someone using the Apple name so liberally. I would stay far away from Napa One. read more

Napa One - Well Used and banged up Macbook cord Don sold me. And half the cord with the 3 prong plug was missing! - IT Services & Computer Repair Near Me

My 2010 27" iMac was becoming unresponsive while typing emails, and I shut it down with the power switch. This also happened about a month ago, but I was able to reboot in Safe Mode. Not this time! It would not boot in spite of more than 6 hours of DIY recovery attempts. I found Napa One with a Google search, and sent Don Hirsohn a detailed email describing the Mac, OS, and problems. I asked if he could restore it and recover 650 GB of applications and data. He replied immediately that he could do that, and I arranged to bring the Mac to him in Napa the next morning. He was able to reboot the Mac that day but determined the HDD was failing. He recommended replacing it with a 1TB solid state drive. The drive was ordered and received in 3 days. Don then restored the Mac from my TimeMachine drive. The Mac is working perfectly now with all files intact. A lifesaver! Loading apps and large files is noticeably faster with the SSD. Some apps required recertification, and he advised me how to do that for my Microsoft Office products. He also made a bootable USB drive as a savior for any future recurrences. Don was very knowledgeable about the problem and very responsive. He charged a fair price for his services and for the new drive. I am 100% pleased and I recommend Don highly. He is now my go-to person for any future Mac issues. read more

I chose Napa One after reading the Yelp reviews. I am very happy that I went to Napa One. My hard drive had gone kabluey on my MacBook Pro. So, I called Don. From the get-go, he was a very clear communicator relating his availability, process, and pricing so that we were both standing on the same ground. I appreciate his flexibility in giving me every opportunity to get my laptop to him when he had a particularly busy day. My laptop was diagnosed, repaired and returned to me in a timely fashion. Best part yet -- my Apple laptop is working like a charm once again. No glitches. It is purring like a kitten. In fact, I am using it now to write my Yelp review, thanks to Napa One and Don. read more

Napa One, from the outside, looks like it could fit in the Rose City (Portland, Oregon), since it's in a beautiful converted Victorian with a home office. When I had problems with my computer's video card, Don came to the rescue. I was without a computer for a couple of days, so I had some computer detox. Going to him was far more reasonable than heading out to the Apple Store in the other Rose City (Santa Rosa) He found the answer to my problem, charged a reasonable price, he even came to my place to install it. Don does house calls! Very helpful and friendly. It's fairly easy to find his place- it's beside Napa's elegant Fuller Park. read more

My personal laptop badly needed more memory space and I was able to drop it off on a Friday evening. Don said he may not be able to get to it til the following Wednesday which I was totally fine with; it wasn't super urgent. I was just looking forward to a bigger hard drive. Which I got! 128gb to 500gb? Yes please. Don called me on Sunday to let me know that my laptop was all ready and good to go- needless to say I was impressed with the speed in which it got done! Don was very friendly and we chatted a bit when I picked up my computer. I was very excited to have that extra memory space and was pleased at how good of a job was done. Don was very thorough and fixed things up perfectly! read more

I was able to get an appointment with Don really quickly, and didn't have to leave my laptop; he did the work right there on the spot. My MacBook Air was getting really slow and some programs were crashing. Don and I sat side by side outdoors (masked and distanced of course) and within an hour he had my Mac back in shape and running smoothly. Don patiently explained what he was doing and gave me lots of great tips. read more

I have had 2 different computers go through his business. 1.My laptop-It was shutting down for no reason, he said I needed a new hard drive for $250. My computer still shuts down almost daily! He has not even offed to look at it. 2. A Desktop-I just wanted to have a DVD player installed since my old one died. $200 later and my computer doesn't see it. So I even sent the DVD player in and they said it was fine. I offered a chance for him to fix it and I have not heard back. Don't go here, it is worth the drive to the city. read more

Don has been our only computer guy for years. He is extremely reasonable, always offers to pick up/deliver devices, has a very quick turn around, and will bend over backwards to help you out. More than once he didn't charge us labor for something he couldn't fix. He has rescued several Macs for us, including my fairly new beloved $2500 MacBook Pro that the Apple Store "genius bar" told me it would be cheaper to replace. After going way too many years without a computer, I called Napa One to get a second opinion and Don fixed it, for a fraction of purchasing a new one. (And if he doesn't return your call immediately, you may have dialed the wrong number). read more

What a great Company!! Don quietly, efficiently set my recently rain-damaged Apple computer to rights! I was horrified when I noticed my screen strangely flashing during a storm while working in my studio -- and realized a co-worker had left a ceiling vent open so that rain was falling on my keyboard. Don not only moved his schedule to accommodate my visit to his office - he fixed all within a day and charged extremely reasonably - AND backed up all my data prior as insurance, and upgraded me to icloud -- !! Optimum service! It turns out several close friends have also used Don via his Napa One company to salvage their extreme computer challenges - and every one has expressed relief and gratitude for his ability and fair pricing. I recommend Don very, very highly - as he also helped me years earlier with a stubborn tech problem at my office: again, quiet, capable, humorous and very, very reasonable in his fees! Angela, a pleased client! read more

Don has recently helped me establish a small office network comprised of Macs. He is fast, thorough and no-nonsense--it is exactly what we needed. On a separate occasion, he rescued me when my old Mac's hard drive crashed. I had no back up drive in place at the time (!!), yet he managed to retrieve all of my documents. He is the only person I will use for my work and home Apple products. read more

Wow! What a find. This guy really knows Mac computers. I highly recommend Don for any of your Apple computer needs.

Napa One is OUR local Apple Computer repair professional. I had a screen break on my MacBook over the summer and the nearest repair place was in San Rafael, perhaps Fairfield. Then I found an ad for Napa One. He is local, reasonable, gave me a quick turnaround time (2 days instead of 3-4). The owner is Don and says he was an Apple programmer in the past. Now he has Apple services in Napa (setting up Apple systems, as well as the repair work). Thanks, Don! read more

I've consulted with Don twice at this point concerning problems with 2 different Macbook Pro's. He gave an accurate diagnosis each time and laid out all of the options. At no point did he try to sell me on one particular path or even encourage me to have him do the repairs, a mark of integrity in my eyes. Very knowledgeable and up-to-speed on the technology trends and new advances. Highly recommended. read more

Don Hirsohn has been taking care of all of my computer needs for nearly 8 years. Within a couple of hours he had all the documentation I needed to process my insurance claims and within the week he had our new Macs up and running. Count on having all the bases covered under Don's care. I have trusted him with my business and family computer needs for many years and couldn't be more satisfied with all he has done. Don has been my computer guru since 2005. He is wonderful with my computer no matter what is wrong with it. I spent 9 hours with Apple at 3 different times in three days. I was not in Napa to get his help. Apple's time was a waste of time. I am so glad that I had Don read more
