Scroll through the reviews. All of them are 5* rated. There is a reason for the excellent reviews....excellent service. It started off with my laptop making some funky noise. It honestly sounded like a dying duck. One early morning, a family member came downstairs and thought there was a duck in the backyard in trouble. They went outside to investigate. Nope, it was just my sad...dying laptop. I tried going to someone I used before, but luckily for me, he wasn't at his office during his hours of operation. I hopped onto Yelp and found Jon @ Tech Assist 101. I reached out and within a few minutes, we were making a plan to drop off my laptop for service. When I dropped it off, Jon immediately diagnosed the problem (fan). Long story short, my laptop is back home and while I grew accustomed to the duck noises...it's now gone. Jon was outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable. He kept me abreast of the progress throughout (it took a few days to get a certain part and there was actually another issue w/ the laptop that needed resolve). Finally, he's very personable and you can tell he loves what he does. It's been a few hours, but I'm happy. Honestly, I hope I don't have to go back, but if that time comes where I need help...I know where to go. In the meantime, I'll gladly direct anyone with computer issues to Jon. read more

This guy knows his stuff. He went above and beyond. I went from an old version of windows 7 (discontinued over a year ago)... he put in a new hard drive and help move all my extensive files over, helped update an old antiquated email system. Made it so my internet faves were still on my screen. He has the ability to set up a remote access for continued support. Super friendly and very reasonably priced. He is my NEW computer guy. Keep of the great work Jon!!! read more

Unfortunately, running into tech issues on my laptop happens at the most inconvenient time, but luckily Jon is a phone call away to help resolve those pesky issues. Jon is experienced, knowledgeable, professional, and personable. Definitely a good person to know! I value Jon's time and ability to efficiently resolve these technical discrepancies. I was writing a paper and couldn't save it or any Word document for that matter. How annoying and terrifying at the same time! Jon fixed that quick and showed me some tips that when it happened again, I was able to resolve it myself. Then recently, I needed to back up my work on an external drive. Sounds easy, but for me the reassurance is the most important thing. Constantly thinking my MacBook would explode when all the fans were turning and loosing all my work and dissertation was super stressful. Now everything is all good! Love the fact that he can fix these issues remotely. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. If you read this Jon, thank you so much!! read more

Jon is the best computer tech I've ever worked with! He checks all the boxes! He's on time, dependable, smart, easy to talk with, gets the job done, and can respond quickly when I need a fast answer. He helped me transition from my old CPU to a new one, and then rehabed the old one so I have redundancy. He even found all my 4000+ fonts, which made me feel so good! (I'm a fontaholic!) I have lots of stress in my work life and Jon has reduced it significantly. He also has an excellent sidekick, Mark, who hardwired my router to my new system because the wifi wasn't being dependable. If you want the job done and done right the first time, Jon's your guy! read more

The "Beast" died and would not boot up...3 weeks before my daughter's wedding. Fortunately I use Time Machine and all files were backed up. Jon Kennedy was patient on the phone, explained his process and was very clear. Although Apple products are not his personal first choice, his Apple knowledge surprised me. Personally, Jon is a delightful guy, personable, friendly, upbeat and caring. We chatted a lot then discussed his process. Honestly, I was so distracted by my daughter's wedding logistics, that I didn't care how calm and laid-back Jon's approach was. (Normally, I would expect urgency and "yesterday" in my computer concerns.) Jon was communicative and positive, presenting caveats when necessary. I'm impressed that a normally PC user was so incredibly knowledgeable about Macs. Thank you, Jon, for 2 lessons. 1. I have a trusted new vendor. 2. Making me slow down and be patient with you, turned into a non-issue. I had my ancient (but working) Mac Book and access to all necessary files. The Beast is roaring and the wedding was gorgeous! read more

I needed a couple of items fixed on my Windows laptop - no access to my WiFi, and inability to connect to my video monitor. Quotes from local shops were running around $200 for each of the two problems, with surgery on the laptop apparently the only option. I tried Jon, based on his Yelp reviews, and he pointed me to a network adapter USB plug-in for $25 and an HDMI USB plug-in for $50, both available either from a local office supply store or Amazon. I bought the two items, plugged them in, and now the laptop works with both the video monitor and the WiFi. Saved me $300, and Jon didn't pocket a dime. I have to really respect a business who puts their customer first like that...and I wasn't even his customer when I called. Next time I have a computer problem, I know who I'm calling. read more

Nothing but kudos and the highest rating for this guy! I'm new in town, my computer crashed and Jon's Yelp ratings looked really good. I was in between jobs, didn't have much money but desperately needed a working computer. Jon quoted me a price and promised it wouldn't be more. He was good for his word, even though it took more time than he had estimated. My computer now runs like new and he takes my calls, even when it's for something mind-numbingly simple. He will always be the first person I call for tech issues as well as the only one I'll recommend to others. He is honest, competent and an all-around good guy as well! Thanks, Jon! read more

After more than a year of fighting a poor Comcast connection, we found Jon from TechAssist101 and asked him to come and fix our home office network. Jon solved all connection and network problems in two hours, and gave us a lot of tips for improving the Internet speed in the house. I still cannot believe the fact that I FINALLY have an internet connection that works, and it does not need to be unplugged or reset over 10 times a day. I am very grateful to Jon for everything he did! Will use them again for other tech issues, as well. read more

My mother's computer was hacked and she had no idea what to do. She took it here and it was fixed in no time! The price was very reasonable as well. My mom raved about how kind and patient everyone was with her, since she's not tech savvy at all. Highly recommend! read more

awesome place had a broken non starting mac book n and he was able to transfer everything over with no problem at all to a used macbook and even put a new keyboard in for free. Professional service and did it in a pinch for a great price thanks again. read more

Best tech support ever! Jon is extremely knowledgeable and was able to fix a problem remotely with my computer and scanner when other tech companies were unable to do so. He returned my call within an hour and was professional, very friendly, and totally comfortable and patient with my somewhat minimal computer skills. He worked with me until he was sure the problem was completely resolved. He had great suggestions on how to improve my sluggish computer in the future but wasn't at all pushy. Great skills, very nice person, and very reasonable prices. Just cancelled my subscription with a national company! So happy to have found a local company I can support and depend on! Highly recommended! read more

Jon is an incredibly knowledgeable, efficient and understanding guy. I brought my laptop to him recently and after going out of his way to accommodate the unscheduled meeting, he sat down with me for a consultation. I was impressed with his knowledge and willingness to help me, and I couldn't believe the low rate he was asking. I actually insisted on giving him more money because I felt that the information he provided was more valuable than he had asked for in payment. After the consolidation, I spent weeks trying to fix it on my own and consulting Google thoroughly. I decided to to make an appointment to see Jon again. As a college student, I was afraid that the actual fix would be $100+ possibly requiring parts costing another $100+, but thankfully I was wrong! Again, Jon came through with the amazing low rate. Though the problem was solved and he had my laptop running like new within minutes, I stayed for a while as we chatted about computers, technology, and life! Great experience, couldn't recommend him higher. If you're have issues with your computer (Apple or PC) or are looking for someone to consult with about building a computer or upgrading, take it here first. read more

Tax time! My wife and I spent a week getting our paperwork together and preparing for our return. The day before our meeting our laptop crashed. I took my laptop to get it repaired after I got a virus. I was really worried about how much it would cost me and had no idea where to take it. I am a regular here and plan on continuing to be one. Amazing service, Jon really helped me out with my PC repair. I know a bit about computers, but they can still be very intimidating to deal with issues. Jon was able to fix my PC issue and even cleaned out all the dust as a bonus. Very reasonable prices and Jon is easy to talk to. Highly recommend. read more

Jonathan is amazing and a seriously competent technician. Plus, he's just a super nice guy and extremely personable. My laptop was running slowly and getting hot pretty fast. I called him and he was able to see me and had it back around noon the next day. Now it purrs like a kitten to the point where my cat's getting jealous. And it's super fast now, too! A few days later I had trouble linking my printer and needed to print before a Tuesday meeting. I texted him Sunday evening, thinking he would get the message Monday morning. He actually called right back and accessed my laptop remotely to see what he could find. Everything works perfectly! read more

My aging MacBook Pro had become so slow and problem ridden that I took it to Tech Assist after talking to Jon. He had been mentioned in the Yelps I had read about Tech Assist. For far less that I had expected to pay, he installed a new hard drive, some software and had it back to me within 26 hours. It works like a new computer and loads so much more quickly. Tech Assist is not your typical computer repair shop. Very personal and low key. Plus parking is easy. read more

I read all the positive reviews and took my laptop in to Tech Assist 101 because I thought the hard drive had crashed. Upon hearing that they thought the hard drive had crashed, and they could sell me a new one, I made the decision to take the laptop to another venue that recommended doing diagnostics. Eventually they found that the hard drive had not crashed at all, but the local hard drive was too full and had gotten hung up on an update, causing a "blue screen." The Tech Assist guys were super personable and nice but I felt I got better advice elsewhere. read more

The motherboard on my custom computer went out plus it was time for a major upgrade. Jon completely overhauled it, changed it to solid state drive and transferred all my data into it from my hard drive that thankfully was good. Now my computer rips!!
