Although it's been months since our computer was fixed. I just don't know how to use this app too well. Even though our desktop still runs windows 7 (has no Microsoft support) They diagnosed that it was a power supply issue and the part & repair price was very reasonable! We did not have to stress out about up-grading to an operating system that would not support our old software programs. It also got took 4 days! I only gave a 4 star because this is the only computer repair shop I've ever been to. read more

I've been working with Peter since he opened his business in the mid 90's. He is the only person I would allow to build or work on my computers, and I come from Oregon to go there. He has built 3 computers for me, one for my husband, one for my mother and a couple for friends I have referred to him. My daughter took a computer she bought someplace else many years ago, that no one else could work on and fixed it in an hour. My computers are used for construction drafting and heavy bookkeeping and in my law office, None of my computers that he built has ever given me a minutes grief, but were replaced only because newer software programs required newer technology. The classic 'spilled the water on the computer move' Ugh. Tried to live with just my tablet as I was afraid of the repair cost but finally broke down and called Pete. "Sure! Bring it in and let's take a look" Went in, nice guy, good chat, took a quick look and said he'd get back to me later with the diagnosis. Sure enough, got the call. Knew what had to be replaced and had the numbers. Even advised a secondary solution may be needed but let's wait and see. Day later, parts in and it's ready to pick up. Walked me through what I did to the poor thing (the poor battery) and rang me up. I needed assistance with my laptop and took a look at the reviews on Yelp and called Pro Tech based on what I read even though the reviews are 2 yrs old or older which I wondered about but ddin't give it too much thought. I took my laptop to Pete but never got to see what type of actual service he provides. He sells and services laptops and his attitude changed drastically when I told him I was not in a position to purchase an expensive new laptop. He was difficult to communicate with and at one point when we weren't communicating well he was yelling at me. I told him to stop yelling and he did apologize. He had very negative things to say about my laptop brand. He said it couldn't be fixed. He also said that to investigate several different other things would cost this, this and this. These costs were becoming more expensive than a new laptop. He then picked up my laptop, handed it to me and said he couldn't help me in a tone of dismissal. The guy was an absolute jerk. Now I know why there probably aren't current reviews. read more
