Yay, my computer is behaving like normal again! When I noticed it was crashing I called Scott. That was a good decision. He kept my laptop only a couple of days and all is well again. I'm not very techie but Scott was never condescending. He answered every question and we worked well together to troubleshoot. Recommend! read more

I would happily recommend Scott to anyone who has a need for a quality custom gaming build. I asked Scott to help me put together a custom gaming computer and he walked me through the whole process from start to finish. He helped me pick all the right parts tailored to my specific needs, and it wasn't a laborious process. He helped make it pretty easy. He also managed to get my system put together for less than my budget, which I very much appreciated. All in all, a great experience. read more

Scott was super helpful. He was able to figure out why my PC froze up. He added a new M.2 mvme SSD for me and got my PC back up and running. Turn around time was about a week. Definitely recommend Scott for your PC needs. read more

How lucky are we to have a trustworthy and live computer troubleshooter expert in our community. I went to see Scott with my Windows laptop that was acting up after five or six years of use. After listening to my issues and what my needs are in a laptop, he recommended buying a new one instead of wasting money on trying to fix the hardware in this one. He gave me not only a recommendation for a range of models and manufacturer, but told me the best place to go buy it. I didn't get to buy any of his services in this case because he didn't charge me for this wisdom, but I am now a loyal customer. Thank you, Scott! read more

One of the best in town! Scott helped me figure out what was wrong with my gaming pc and also helped me get a replacement cpu with intel customer support after figuring out my cpu was frying itself due to a motherboard setting, Scott was really easy to work with and affordable! I would highly recommend anyone to take there computer to him. read more

Scott is a reliable, patient, and generous business owner that I would trust with my computer any time. Recently, I had trouble with my CPU and my computer would turn on but the display would not initialize. After troubleshooting through power supply issues, display ports, motherboard overload, etc., Scott found that a damaged HDMI cable was causing my issues and my computer would turn on with no problem afterwards. Furthermore, Scott did not charge me for multiple visits for the same issue! All troubleshooting and consultation was covered under my first diagnostic charge with no strings attached. If you are in the Santa Rosa area or live in Sonoma County, Please check out Scott for any computer issues, as he is a trustworthy and kind individual that can help you when computer trouble becomes frustrating. read more

Took my desktop PC to Scott after reading the reviews here. After a power outage it would not turn on. I did a little fiddling of my own but could not solve the problem. Brought it into Scott for a diagnosis and he had it repaired in short order. He's extremely knowledgeable and I think his pricing was quite fair. Highly recommend Scott Larson if your laptop or desktop is on the fritz! read more

I am a very happy customer. Mr. Larson will be my only go to computer pro. I like his educational information approach, and software suggestions but best of all I like his own package offers to personally safeguard my computer. That's what I call a peace of mind. Thank You Scott. I've got more shit coming! read more

I emailed Scott after one my very old external hard drives suddenly stopped communicating with my laptop. He responded within hours, and the next day, I delivered the drive to him to see if the data could be rescued from it. Although the situation seemed dire at first, he was actually able to access the data normally and offered to transfer it to a flash drive for a nominal fee. His initial fee for diagnostics was completely reasonable, as well. I found Scott personable and professional, and I'm happy to say that he'll be my go-to computer guy for any future tech troubles. read more

Quick, efficient service and good communications. You might find someone to do the job for less money, but you get what you pay for. Paying a professional a fair rate makes for better sleep and no regrets. (Some) data is priceless. read more

Scott recommended a simple, inexpensive fix to a design flaw in my pc. I'll certainly enlist his services in the future.

Scott did a wonderful job building a new gaming system for me - I could not be more pleased. From the carefully selected parts, to the timely communication about progress, and willingness to answer questions, everything has been fantastic. He even helped me get it to my car on pickup day ! If you want a good, professional computer person, Scott is that person. read more

Scott's help was outstanding. After failing at Geek Squad, I looked him up and went there because he was open on Saturday. He greeted me, was very honest about the process, and appeared very competent and confident. He finally charged less than his estimate. Certainly an impeccable and impressive place. Already recommended to friends. read more

Just contacted Scott for a slow laptop issue and in a matter of a few minutes and a very, very reasonable fee he connected to my laptop remotely and resolved my issue. The whole experience was pleasant, easy and again very, very reasonable. I now know where to go if I ever need anything computer related ever again! read more

I requested a quote online to fix my fan and he responded fast. I took it in and turned on my laptop so he could hear the fan noise. Originally my laptop booted up as usual (if it hadn't, I would have noticed because I was right there, and he would have noticed too and should have mentioned it before doing any repairs). He orders the fan and fixes it except somehow messes up the hard drive and asks to fix it,which would obviously cost me more. I insisted to fix the fan only because I know my laptop didn't have any issues with the hard drive. Now my laptop won't boot and he is denying that it did when I brought it in. Im livid because it will cost me a lot to buy a new laptop UPDATE: I have just now seen the response and I must say this. I may not be a computer wiz but I know a few things and I know that while fixing the fan, you should not have tampered with the hard drive AT ALL! Here's the proof! First image, as agreed, a fan replacement. Second image, the receipt that he gave me after the "repair" which includes charges for fixing the fan and "the hard drive", which I did not request!!! You gave me a great discount, but what good is a discount with a non functional laptop?! read more

I was having issues with a brand new computer and Scott quickly figured out what was wrong. I really thought the "squad" was going to help me, but when I found out they were going to send my laptop to Kentucky for servicing, I knew I needed a local tech person. So glad I found Scott to take care of my computer problem. Diagnostic procedure was well worth it so that I could make a decision whether to repair or replace. I was happy he was able to recover my data quicker than I expected! I highly recommend his services. read more

I am very pleased with Scott's services. He responded quickly and did excellent work and kept me thoroughly informed throughout the process. He's exactly the kind of small business owner we want to support. read more

I found Scott on Yelp after a week that sounds like the one the previous reviewer had (I got in a hit & run accident - my car was totaled, and then the next day dropped my laptop and it broke). Best Buy told me it would cost about $400 to ship my laptop out to be looked at and opened up... with no guarantee that it would be even fixed. My tiny little off-brand laptop is barely worth that much! So when Scott returned my email saying he'd be willing to help, I took my baby to him. His fees were extremely reasonable, and he did what most others would not do: opened up a laptop, found shattered parts, ordered the new part needed, and took a soldering iron to it. Many computer techs just won't do it - too risky. But he's a pro. Here I am, two weeks later, with a laptop that works like new. With all of my beloved files intact (Ill be backing those up soon!) In addition, Scott is friendly and easy to talk to. Very professional to do business with, but also down to earth and not intimidating. If I *ever* have a computer issue in the future, I will definitely be contacting Scott. read more

Scott is a very honest, and forthright independent computer repair man. I found him here on yelp, and contacted him, and left a message regarding a hardware problem I was facing on my cheap little HP notebook. Scott was prompt to get back to me. Unfortunately for me, I had let Scott know what I thought was the problem (a loose charging port) Scott said okay... give me the model number of the notebook, and I had to call him back with it. We played phone tag a bit, and he was always very prompt to get back to me. He researched to see if the procedure was even possible to replace the charging port on my computer, and if the part was available. Dealing with Scott was very easy. I never did have to bring my computer to him, as I misdiagnosed my own computer. And had Scott order the wrong part. I am still going to keep the part on hand in case it ever does go bad. Moral of the story is Scott is a good guy to deal with, and I would go back to him again. Only next time, I will leave the troubleshooting up to him! read more

I've been using Scott Larson's services for years, and I HIGHLY recommend him. He is communicative, courteous, prompt, and reasonably priced, and his services are excellent. Scott is my go-to-guy for any technical computer issues. He has helped me with everything from networking, to installing new hardware, to recovering data from a failed hard drive. He completely restored my entire library of songs, videos, etc for a very reasonable price. I refuse to take my computer into Best Buy or some other store because I have no idea who is working on it. Scott is very professional, honest, and communicative and I have the fullest confidence in his technical ability. Plus he's a real nice guy. Don't fool around with trying to fix your own computer when you can take it to a pro like Scott. read more

Scott walks his talk! He's a man of his word and will really goes to bat for you. If you're looking for someone who's knowledgeable, focused, HONEST and caring, you've found him. His rates are very reasonable and he takes time to explain everything to the non-techie in language we can understand As a small business owner for over 25 years, I've had plenty of experience with "experts" who bluff about the depth of their skills, so it's really a relief to find someone to rely on. I highly recommend Scott Larson! Sincerely, Peggy Lutz President, Peggy Lutz Plus, Inc www.plus-size.com read more

I emailed Scott because my netbook wasn't getting power. He emailed me back right away to ask me questions so he could better understand my situation. Once I gave the details, he emailed back to say that this seemed like a fairly common problem with my brand of netbook and that it was too small for him to be able to open up and work on; also, that a new motherboard would be hard to find and expensive... the repairs, if possible, would cost more than a new computer. I can't say how much I appreciate Scott's assistance, for which I never paid any money. More than that, his integrity in being of service while not charging me for something he knew was impossible, is rare. Scott did not repair my netbook, but he proved himself to be professional and trustworthy. I'll call him for my future computer repair needs. read more

Very happy to have discovered Scott. He worked quickly and carefully to diagnose my computer woes. Time taken to repair was reasonable. Scott is awesome, friendly, helpful and honest. When my laptop monitor stopped showing any sort of picture, I took it to him and he gave me an inexpensive diagnostic. It was completed with complete professionalism. In the end, I wound up deciding to get a new computer - and enjoyed a nice chat with Scott about my needs and options. Hopefully it will never need repair, but if it does, I'll go right back to Scott. read more

Scott makes consultants look good. He has a very professional approach to business and communicates clearly. I recently asked for his assistance in recovering data from two different devices. Both jobs had their own unique technical challenges. Scott clearly identified the circumstances where he could provide service and at what point, I might have to consider a more expensive solution. I was very happy when Scott called (as promised) to advise me of the status of the restore (he was almost done). I have had a chance to review the work and I am very satisfied. The bill was reasonable and fair. Highly recommended. read more

Scott did an excellent job repairing my notebook computer after I couldn't start Windows due to a failed hard disk. He backed up my data to my external hard disk so I didn't lose any of it, at least none that I'm aware of. I was very worried because my wife and I depend so much on the computer. I carelessly didn't perform backups for the last several weeks before the HD failure. Scott then ordered a new hard disk for me that so far has performed very well. He copied my data from my external HD to the new internal HD. He reinstalled Windows. Most of my file system and data were organized the way it was before, but I only spent a few hours reorganizing the rest. He recommended a superb backup program that I'm using on a trial basis, and that I plan to purchase. He answered my questions after the repair was completed. My system works as well or better than it did before the hard disk failure. Much to my relief, the entire recovery operation, with my time included, took within a week. The one area in which Scott's service was less than exemplary was in the documentation and notification he provided. For example, details about scheduled shipping and delivery times for the HD weren't given when I needed them. I wasn't given a copy of the invoice for the new HD, since Scott purchased it and resold it to me. However, Scott more than made up for these oversights with the warranty he offered on the new HD. Scott is expert with computer technology, and very helpful and friendly. His sidekick / assistant Pauline was also helpful and friendly. In any kind of technical crisis, I wouldn't want anyone other than Scott on my side. He had my wife and me covered in a big way. I'll seek his help again with a complicated computer project. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention -- his prices are very reasonable too. read more

So grateful for this guy! Really fair & courteous service. I would & will recommend to anyone needing computer service! Thanks Scott!

Horrible Service, do no use this man in a legal dispute or divorce proceedings . He sided with my ex wife and instead of following the court order presented to him he decides to take the law into his own hands and doesn't give me back my laptop for 3 months, he was supposed to delete some files off my computer by decree of the courts and then Return my laptop back to me. The laptop was mine and he decides that he will return the laptop back to my ex, what a nightmare read more

So I have a laptop that takes longer than it used to, to boot up, the internal speakers no longer work and I have to use an external CD drive as the internal one died on me. My main concern was speeding it up, I am not a techie but do know that there can be many reasons why your PC/Laptop can slow down. I read the reviews on Scott and figured I would reach out to him for his recommendation. His website has a lot of info, I found it a bit busy but ok. I found a page to fill out to have him contact me, I did appreciate that one of the contact options is via text, pretty cool. I provided a description of my issues and awaited his contact. The next day I received a text that basically said, his recommendation was that I buy a new laptop, he provided a link to his website with instruction to read an article and that he could make a recommendation as to buying a new laptop. His text was polite and professional but I was a bit put off by it. We texted back and forth a few times and turns out the link he sent is to his policy on "out of life cycle" basically he is stating that if your computer is 4 years old or older he does not want to work on it, for varies reasons. I get it, it is easier to work on newer computers as they would have less issues but come on' my laptop is no dinosaur and he does have a link on his website about "system tune ups" and how in many cases a tune up is all you need instead of buying a new computer. My expectation was that he would have at least wanted to physically looked at my laptop prior to kicking me to the curb. It is his business and he can run it anyway he wants and our texts were polite and professional. I just have an issue with advertising about system tune-ups with no strong mention of his policy against working on 4 year and older computers and for the record my laptop is 3.5 yrs old. Anyway if you have computer issues Scott may be your guy, BUT not if you have an older one. read more
