This is my computer experience from a computer shop in Ripon, CA which eventually lead me to…read moreComputer Pros in Stockton, CA. I came to the computer store in Ripon (my local shop) to attempt to recover pictures and documents from two hard drives from older computers that were freezing up. I was told that the first hard drive had the pictures on OneDrive and none were on the hard drive and was charged $29 for the diagnostic. I brought in a second hard drive from another computer to attempt a second recovery because I knew that the pictures were definitely stored on there and brought an external hard drive for the transfer. The owner stated that he wanted to charge me $399 for the hard drive repair and an additional $150 for the data transfer by text after a few days. I decided not to do the work and came in to pick up my internal and external hard drive. The owner seemed surprised of my decision and threw out a hypothetical question on what the pictures were worth. I was confused on why he would even ask me that question but just told him that they were not worth the estimate that he gave me. I asked him a question about the first hard drive and telling him that I was 100% sure that the pictures were on the computer and asked him to explain it to me again and to "talk to me like I am dumb with computers and not like I am an idiot". He looked puzzled with my statement but the whole experience was condescending from day one each time that I asked a question about my computers. He is very knowledgeable but will make you feel like an idiot for asking any question to try and understand the recovery process. Both internal hard drives were taken to Computer Pros in Stockton and Erik the owner was the true computer expert. He explained the repairs to me and made me feel appreciated as a customer. Erik stated that if he could not retrieve the documents and pictures that there would be no cost. He stated to me that the second internal hard drive and external hard drive were toast and that the documents and pictures could not be retrieved. I understand that the internal hard drive could have been jacked up because I had the first place take the drive off the repair process before it finished but my external hard drive was not broken when I brought it in to him. Thank goodness that Erik was able to retrieve the documents and pictures that the first shop said were not on the internal hard from the beginning. He was able to retrieve 100% of the 12 GB of data. If anybody is willing to drive to Stockton for computer repairs, I highly recommend Computer Pros with Erik. They are top notch with knowledge and customer care was amazing. He also does remote work to save you that trip if it fits your needs. I will be coming back for future computer needs.

As for the technicians, all I can say is they were amazing. They were very professional, detailed oriented and on time. All of the work performed was done great and great quality. This blessing being that we would save an abundance of money that would have gone towards a higher mortgage at a new home. Therefore, we figured that we would use the money to make upgrades to our home. While playing video games together, my son suggested that we turn our spare room into a "mancave." After furnishing the room with a comfortable futon, I figured that we should upgrade the 42 inch tv that currently resided in the room to something a bit bigger (so American of me). While at Best Buy waiting to pick up a new tv, I began looking at tv stands; however, most of the stands were bulky and would conflict with the minimalist approach that I was aiming for. I immediately started watching YouTube videos on how to install a TV wall mount, and came to the conclusion that it was a job that my wife and I could take on. However, when the mount arrived at our home via Amazon, we realized that we much rather prefer to have a professional install it. I immediately did a Yelp search for "tv mounters" and the results led me to Alive Entertainments owned and operated by a gentleman named Francisco. Francisco not only had perfect reviews (and the photos to showcase his work), but also had a really cool bio about his journey working with electronics (ironically I had a similar upbringing in relation to installing car audio systems in my youth). I gave Francisco a call and was able to secure a same day appointment. Leading up to the set appointment time, Francisco did a great job of communicating his status. Francisco arrived at 1:23 pm and finished the installation at 2:10 pm, which was extremely quick. It probably would have been quicker had I not bothered Francisco with questions pertaining to the installation. I'm using the word bothered; however, Francisco did not seem bothered at all to patiently answer my questions. By the attention to detail that Francisco applied to the installation, it's pretty obvious that Francisco is knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. I'm looking forward to playing video games and using our spare room for at-home workouts on those days when I cannot make it to the gym. I will definitely refer Francisco to my family & friends, and plan on scheduling another appointment in the near future to have our bedroom television mounted. Thank you Francisco!

They had appointments available as soon as the next day which was unlike other companies we reached out to, and they were also the most affordable. They even gave us a call when they were on the way, and arrived right on time for our scheduled appointment. They were also polite and removed their shoes, and wore masks and abided by social distancing guidelines. We purchased a mount ourselves for them to use for mounting our TV on the wall. They explained everything thoroughly, and I could even hear Francisco explaining to his son each step along the way, as it seemed he was training him. It really showed how much he knew about what he was doing! Once the tv was mounted, Francisco m explained to us how to use the mount, and how to uninstall it if we ever needed to put up a new TV. I was impressed with their punctuality and their level of knowledge. Usually these kind of service appointments don't occur right on time. They were in and out, in less than one hour. If we ever have any entertainment needs in the future, I will be calling up Francisco again, no questions asked!
