    The Camera Guys

I hired their team for a 6-camera install around the outside of my house. I went over the details…read morewith Mike, the owner, on the phone and he sent his guys out on the next available appointment. Mike said his guys knew their stuff through their experience with all sorts of installs, but I think he should have also advertised their level of effort. I went over the plan with the guys assigned to the job - Matt and Robert. They helped me tweak it in line with their professional opinion, the reality of the install, and how hide the ethernet runs. To my surprised, they offered to and spent the extra time to create runs inside a smaller attic to mount two of the cameras to leave no visible wiring to the device. Check the pictures for a few of the installs. I've given the cameras a few days to soak test against high load and moderately toasty temperatures outside (Lower conductivity and high data traffic to challenge the install.). So far it has worked pretty darn good on the first go. Beyond the install, Mike and the team respected my decision to acquire and manage my own cameras, poe switches, and VMS. They didn't attempt at all to make any sales pitches but did offer to help me acquire cameras if I needed their assistance to do so. I appreciate all of this because I know doing this kind of work for a residential building doesn't provide the best returns for a business and many have stopped offering wired camera install services - including the low voltage installers for my home! On top of that, they do this at a very reasonable price.

Long story short, I was having a problem and I called in. Mike took his time and fixed my problem over the phone. Problem fixed! I would give this zero stars if I could. 11 years ago I purchased an alarm system from ADT. I paid…read morefor sensors for all my windows and two doors, all my entries. This year, beginning last month, I began having issues with one of the alarms going off every time I left the house, like every time. I thought it was my cat, but apparently the sensor was malfunctioning because I woke in the night to the alarm panel telling me something was amiss, and it was supposedly a "low battery" in the sensor that had been going off all the time. I was upset because after I replaced the battery, the problem was still there and I couldn't set my alarm. I called customer service, waited on hold for 20 minutes, and finally got some gal in another country I could barely understand. She wanted to lead me through "troubleshooting" before telling me how to bypass that particular sensor. I had replaced the battery and told her so, but she wanted me to take it out and wait two minutes before putting it in again. I couldn't get the cover off, and she told me to push on the button on the bottom of the sensor. I did, and it broke off in my hand. For the next three hours, I tried desperately to either get the sensor to work or to bypass it, but I couldn't bypass the sensor at all. I also couldn't set my alarm at all. This is infuriating and I pay way too much to have an alarm system I can't arm. On the phone, I got passed from one person to another that was reading, in a foreign accent, from a script of troubleshooting tips and FAQs, but it came down to having to have a technician come out for, they said, $59. This was more than I wanted to pay for a system I'd already paid for, but I couldn't arm my alarm, so he came out today. This is where the ripoff starts; the guy took five seconds to tell me that the sensor was not covered by my warranty because I had "broken it", even though I tried to tell him I'd never even known that button was there and I was told to press it by one of THEIR customer service agents, and this meant the whole appointment was not covered by any warranty. This tech charged $59 plus $184 PER 30 MINUTES!!! At this point, they have you by the short hairs, and I had no choice as I couldn't arm my alarm. As it turns out, that sensor had an error code that could have been cleared up if I'd been able to get hold of anyone, anywhere, with this company that knew ANYTHING about this alarm system. This is not how it was two years ago. Needless to say, I'm done, I'm going to find another alarm system with better customer service as well as better prices. I'm tired of being gouged.

Good job, keep up the good work. You came through when it…read morecounted the most. I appreciate all you have done to make it happen.
