The soundbar that Patrick installed last year stopped working the other day, after some obscure message about HDMI flashed across my LG TV screen (too quick to read.) It wouldn't start along with the TV and the sound was coming from the TV's speakers, not the soundbar. Patrick walked me through a way to reconnect the bar to the TV and then helped me to re-enable HDMI ARC on the TV's settings and- voila! - sound through the soundbar again. My 7 year old tv recently stopped working. I took advantage of the holiday deals and got a 75 inch Tv and a sound bar. I contacted a few companies with mounting my new TV and sound bar. PCA was very responsive and broke down their process and costs. They weren't able to come by for almost two weeks as the holidays are busy with everyone taking advantage of holiday deals. James was communicative the day of our appointment. I was scheduled for 1:30-2:30. He gave me a call and let me know he'd be by closer to 2:30 as his previous appointment is taking longer than expected. He was respectful of our home. He did a great job explaining the whole process to me. He took great care to lay down a blanket to prevent any mess from the wiring. He put up tape where we were mounting the TV so I could get a visualization of where the TV would go. He gave me his number expert opinion on things. We had been searching for a surround sound system installation, but were told repeatedly that it couldn't be done in our home, or that the process would be so extensive that it wouldn't be worth the cost. We live in an average home with no special features, so we knew someone would be able to do it. After 2 years of searching, we were referred to Patrick and finally found someone with the experience and knowledge to help us get the job done right. Patrick and his wife Robyn were very responsive, communicated any scheduling or delivery expectations and were respectful of our budget; making just the right recommendations for our space, even teasing the idea of outdoor speakers tied to our system, which are a pleasant addition to our outdoor space. Our home did present some unique installation challenges, simply because the builder did a shoddy job, leaving bent nails throughout the interior wall space, causing the fishing wires to get hung up, but Patrick worked around it and managed to get the wires through with minimal extra wall cutouts. Upon completion, Patrick left the workspace clean and he stayed to teach us how to use the system, and has since responded to calls when something gets changed in the settings by my curious man. If your looking for an experienced individual to help you get your home entertainment system designed, suggest and order equipment, get it installed, and train you on how to use it. LOOK NO FUTHER, Patrick Coughlin Audio Inc. is really the only place you need to know! Patrick is a very experienced audio specialist/engineer with 43 years experience in the field, who very much enjoys what he does! He helped me get my outdated system, which never really worked like I had hoped 8 years ago installed by another individual, totally upgraded and performing exactly as I wanted at a nice reasonable price. Patrick and his wife Robin are very prompt and professional in taking your calls, scheduling appointments, and keeping you informed, until your project is completed! After scheduling an appointment with Patrick. He came to my home the day and time he said he would. We went over my current setup, as I explained what I had hoped to accomplish with someone else 8 years ago. After a few minutes of evaluation, he explained to me that my receiver was pretty out of date, and suggested one that would take care of everything I was trying to do. I have 3 zones I wanted to be able to pipe audio sound to. And I wanted the ability to intermix, or select a single zone to pipe music to. I also wanted to be able to watch and listen to the TV in the main zone while maybe listening to stereo/CD audio in one of the other zones independently. Patrick explained that he knew exactly what I wanted to accomplish. He suggested a brand of receiver that not only would meet my needs today, but would last me a few years without being outdated so quickly. He also explained along the way, that because I already had a Smart TV, and it was automatically doing upgrades on it's own occasionally over night. That it will reach a point to where it will outdate your equipment, and you won't know it until you turn things on, and all of a sudden things like surround sound doesn't want to work any more. This was exactly one of my problems. Another problem was outdated cables. The high speeds for audio and video these days require the latest in high speed audio/video cables. Something I wasn't exactly thinking about. Again, Patrick knew exactly what was needed to accomplish my goals. After his evaluation and discussion, I agreed to move forward on getting a new receiver ordered, and schedule another appointment to get things installed and setup. Patrick required 50% down to get things on order, and then 50% upon project completion. Robin kept me informed on when things got ordered/received. Contacted me on setting up an install appointment. Again Patrick showed up the day he said he would. He was running about a half hour behind from another project, but gave you the courtesy of giving you a call, letting you know he was running a little late, and was on his way. VERY PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS!!! After about 6 hours of work, and setup time. I was very happy to finally hear music coming from ceiling speakers for the first time that were installed 8 years ago. Patrick took the time to ring out all the speakers I have, and found a few original mis-wires. After straightening that out, Patrick removed some of my outdated equipment, and rerouted all wiring, as well as update all high-speed cables. All cabling was tidied up and routed nicely. I was very impressed with the tests and fine tuning the new Denon receiver does to tune itself to your room size, and speaker distances for the surround sound setup! After that Patrick showed me how to download a couple of FREE iPhone apps that will now let me walk around my place and direct sound to the front porch side, or my back patio, or just be able to sit down inside and watch a cool BluRay HD movie in surround sound that is totally independent of what might be playing outside. Or I can direct TV audio outside if I just want to listen to a ballgame while working in the yard. The combinations are numerous. I know the star rating system is only 5 stars, but I would give Patrick and his audio business a 10 Star rating!!! So if your looking to install any kind of home audio/video entertainment system.
