They sell games at ridiculous prices but will give you penny's on the dollar for your games and or console. I LOVE finding places like these! Places that not a lot of people know about, that you just happened to come across, BUT you DO want people to know about them to keep them in business because you realize what a treasure it is! I am a gamer at heart but a Mother first. I had to find a place that repaired scratched up dvds (Finding Nemo, to be exact) to retain my sanity because I'm not about to go and spend 20 bucks for a new one. Game Crazy was the only place I knew of that did this service but we all know how that went down when Hollywood Video went down the crapper. Poor guys. I googled "games, stockton, ca" and this place was first on the list because it was nearest to me. I call and ask if they repaired dvds and they did. Off I go. Right next to, Yum Yum Donuts. I was greeted immediately and they take my disk. I start to look around and they have every console, used, of course and a whole array of games at very very reasonable prices. An original Nintendo goes for $38 with the choice of 2 games but if you don't want the games they can make it even cheaper. They also have the original xbox which is preloaded with over 5000 games from Nintendo, Sega, Atari and so on that is going for $99. I just let out a secret which I may regret later because I want it! Why didn't I just snatch it up? Because I was strictly there to repair my kid's movie. I have a kid, ergo, I don't have time. I dropped my 3ds there for a repair since most other shops around me do not fix 3ds'. Took about one week and it came out pretty well. I have not checked out most of the other games but I picked up a copy of Cubic Ninja for $10 which was a neat find. Staff was nice all around and were wearing masks when I arrived. BAD location. There is no dedicated parking, either try to park in the street of Charter Way or in the Yum Yum Donuts lot which looks like a 3rd world slum. BAD service. I called in, got a price quote on something i wanted to sell. I showed up with what i had told them plus more,first they did not want to pay, they only wanted to give store credit, after negotiating they gave me less than what they had quoted (and everything worked good). BAD service again. I called in on a separate occasion, was looking for a video game, they said they had it, great! I drove in from across town, long drive, with high gas prices, i showed up and they didn't have it.......what a surprise.. Took Xbox 360 in for repairs, 2 different people tell me 2 different prices. So of course they did agree to cheaper of the 2, said about a week to fix. Week goes by Xbox still hasn't been fixed, another week goes by, still not fixed. Finally go pick it up n have to disagree about price quoted, them we get home, AND ITS NOT OUR XBOX!!! Power cord doesn't fit. Go back n finally get the truth out of Guy n he had swapped my Xbox for another because he couldn't get the part for my original Xbox. When i first heard of Gamer World was because of their constant annoying posting on craigslist. So i decided to give this place a try i went in first thing i noticed was the odd smell from the store. I figured it something was wrong with their restroom so i didnt mind. As i start looking through their collection of classic video games i see same constant titles so i pass. Then when i finally see something i like i look at it and it seems they have no price on it ,Big Thumbs down i dont want to keep asking the clerk hey how much is this how much is that... it gets annoying and the condition these games are in are not good at all. it seems that they never heard of sanitization procedures.. these games are filthy as if they had been rolled around in garbage..
