We went in yesterday expecting a normal shopping…read moreexperience, but instead were met with one of the most disrespectful and unprofessional interactions I've had at any business. The person who seemed to be the owner was rude, arrogant, and clearly has no idea how to treat customers. Instead of being welcoming, he made the entire environment uncomfortable. There was even a family with kids in the store trying to enjoy themselves, and his behavior completely killed the vibe. It's honestly embarrassing to see someone run a business this way. After looking at other reviews, it's obvious this isn't a one-time thing--this seems to be a pattern. If this is how you treat people, don't be surprised when customers stop coming back. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place entirely. There are plenty of better shops out there that actually respect their customers.

I don't even know if they would appreciate you so carelessly giving out that personal info. He then says I was helped right away. I was helped by an employee yes. Which I mentioned already in my review. Because the comics have no rhyme or reason for organization. You should change that if you want customers to actually find what they are looking for. They would not even have to ask for help ... mind blowing I know. Then he says when I brought the books up I looked very upset lol false. I was only upset after standing there waiting to be rung up . The employee said I had to wait for you (why , I have no clue. In my opinion everyone should be able to ring someone up. That's how good businesses are ran.) Usually in a store they don't have to wait for thew owner or manager to do a simple purchase at the register. That's another tip for you. Then he said I gave a disgusted look at the "LGTBQ" customer. Obviously he is trying to use a very common tactic that's ;lazy when he knows he was wrong. I could easily lie and say you didn't like me because I was the only brown person in there. See my point? I have no issue with anyones sexual preference nor did I have a problem with anybody in that store, except you buddy. He then ends with "sorry you weren't happy but it seems like you would not have been regardless, and that I hope I find a different shop more "suitable"". I would have been happy if I was simply acknowledge at the very least . Here's one last tip. If that ever happens, just tell the customer , "How's it going sir one moment I will be right with you" or better yet tell the person you're talking to , "hold that thought let me ring him up" Or hell you could have done both, keep the conversation with him , while simultaneously ringing me up. It's amazing you don't know these things, maybe that's why your store was shut down for that day I first tried to visit and why it was so dusty and empty. You should treat ALL customers with respect. Seeing some of the other reviews on your tiny store pretty much sums up how you are. Also your store wasn't busy like you claimed, you had the person in there talking to you and me. And maybe one person looking at the stuff to the right of the store.

Later in the day I went to Cards and Comics to pick up some cards. Baseball cards in the 80's and 90's are not like today. I was confused and didn't know where to start or what to buy. Brad was so very helpful. He took his time to explain the different packs. The different series. When the next series will be released. What to look for. Not only did he educate me on baseball cards in 2024. He made me sound really cool to my son when I got home and talked cards with him. With Brads guidance. I picked up a couple packs. When I presented them to my son later. He was so stoked. But to my surprise. Brad had tossed a hand full of other cards on the bag and protective sleeves. A huge thank you to Brad at Cards and Comics. This is a great example of why supporting small businesses is important. The big box store would have provided cards (the set was more expensive at then big box store) but they would not have provided the service and the personal approach to helping their customers. I will forever think of the excitement of my son opening these cards and appreciate Brad for helping me. I wanted to note. That while I was in there for baseball cards. There were all sorts of cards. There was other kids and parents were joyfully looking at cards and items. Highly recommend this awesome local business.

Besides the free comic book, the owner has booked a Smash Bros truck, a smashed burgers truck. We tried it, and the burgers were good!! A bit pricey ( 1$ extra for one slice of tomato and 1$ extra for some shredded lettuce ) but they were good! And somebody was selling coffee too. We sat in the car to enjoy our lunch, then went back to the store for more bargains. The bookstore has some outside vendors too. I bought a drawn book for my granddaughter, and they were some lovely bookmarks too. I bought some 3D printed Pokemon toys last year, but I was disappointed that vendor didn't come back. I have not seen many back issues with the exception of wall comics. They have a pretty large area of clearance $1 comics on the left side of the store which seem to be 2-3 years old books. I like that these $1 boxes are on tables and my back appreciates that they are easy to sort through. They also have an inventory of collected editions which includes trade paperbacks, hardcovers, omnibus, and compendiums. The owner Kerry has tried to help me find some obscure current comic books a couple times which I appreciate. The staff have all been helpful and easy to work with. I believe they do a significant amount of business in trading card/game card these days, but still have a respectable comic offering.

I started collecting baseball cards again in 2019 after a 29 year hiatus. This is the first card…read moreshop I visited after deciding to jump back in. Met Kevin, the Owner, who's been in business since the heyday of collecting in the 80's. He was extremely helpful, friendly, and didn't mind taking time to answer questions, which I had plenty of since the collecting industry had changed so much since I stopped. Over the next 3 years I bought numerous hobby products from Kevin. When COVID hit in 2020, the industry went crazy and caused prices to skyrocket. Kevin remained true and offered prices well below what he could of asked for at the time. I asked him about it and he told me he'd seen numerous highs and lows in the industry, and he wanted to take care of his loyal customers who would always come back. I have a great deal of respect for Kevin, and while I have stopped collecting new cards (I just purchase vintage), I still stop by from time-to-time to say hello. He no longer sells sports cards because the distributors got too greedy, and he didn't want to pass those excessive costs to his customers. He still sells comics though, and he is extremely knowledgeable and helpful with anyone who stops by. It's a small shop and if he doesn't have something you're looking for, he has years of connections and will either find a way to get it or point you in the right direction. If you're in the area, stop on by and take a look. You'll feel welcomed and want to come back. Not enough places like this anymore.
