Great store but after Covid they never was open again. Apple Maps said they were open and I took a hour drive to find out they were not open!!! But If they are open it's 5 stars! Great customer service!!! read more

Good customer service and selection of games! It has been years since I last walked into the door. There's more room to walk around in and everything was organized. read more

Awesome store, lots of vintage games and the owner is a great guy. The store is really organized and priced well too

A really cool spot to buy "vintage" (wow I feel old!) video games and consoles. The place is nicely decorated, simple and organized. The people working there are friendly and they have quite the selection along with DVDs also on sale. This would definitely be a good place to go to if you're a collector or if you're looking to purchase a nice gift for the classic gamer. I was looking for a couple of rare games which they didn't have, but they do get stock in. So far my brother has started a collection of gaming consoles and they all work really well. So I would recommend 4Jays to provide reliable working systems. And they have their own return policies as well. read more

This is a cool place to check out every now and then. They have Atari, Genesis, NES, SNES, N64, PlayStation, ect... systems and games. For what it is, this is a store worth checking out. However, I would be hesitant to make any serious purchases here. Their prices are fairly high, though not extremely. They have Shaq Fu for $8, which is arguably the worst game ever made. Should be $2 tops. All the while Mario Paint was $5. Their gaming systems are all around $10-15 too high. Cheaper options can be found on Amazon. Their selection of games leaves much to be desired. A lion's share of their games are old sports games nobody wants anymore, SNES bazooka games, casino games, ect... They have some classics like Castlevania, which are around $40 (which is accurately priced), but all in all, they have very few games I would actually want to play. They had a copy of Mega Man in the original box for $130. Makes me sick, since I used to own that game and the box. Should've kept it! The store survives by being a rare novelty in the area, as I don't know of any other stores like it in the area. However, they don't seem to know how to price their inventory, don't seem to understand that significantly cheaper options are available on Amazon, and their selection isn't very strong. Fun to visit every once in a blue moon, but other than the $13 I spent on Mario Paint and Jurassic Park for the SNES, there isn't much here worth buying, either due to high prices or a lack of quality games. read more

Solid retro game store. Came here on Saturday and although they say they open at 11am the doors didn't actually open until about 11:20ish. Anywho they have a fantastic selection of retro games ranging from Atari games all the way to newer games! The ladies that run the place are very nice and helped me out when I asked to see a few things. A note I will say is not everything is up for display I asked for several things and they found them in the various containers (I picked up a Sega Genesis 6 button controller this way). I ended up picking up a few games and old controllers to compliment my Retron 5. The prices were very competitive with what I've seen online. This place is awesome and I'll definitely be back soon. read more

Me and my boy Tim were hungover as fuck one morning and decided to check 4 jays out. This place pretty much has every single console system you can think of for sale. 3DO? check, Jaguar? check, Neo Geo? check. I've been wanting to buy a SNES since I threw mine in the trash a long time ago (FUCK!) so I wanted to see if they had any for sale. Not only did they have one but they also have some weird over seas version of the SNES as well. Our little trip was cut short because I had a major case of the morning after shits that you get from a night of binge drinking. The denver omelette from matchmakers didn't help either. read more

I went to check out the store because I like the older game systems like N64. While I walked around the store, the two employees simply sat behind the counter. The boy was playing a game and the older man seemed to be watching tv. They never acknowledged me even when I was at the counter. Basically there was no such thing as customer service. The store itself was dirty and unorganized. The pricing was reasonable but I decided not spend any money since they didn't even care that I was interested in making a purchase. read more

It's a bit of a hike from me but when I have the time, always like to stop in and take a peek. Not a ton of crazy rare games, but nice to have more options for vintage finds with nice folks who seem like a family running the shop. read more

I drove a long way to get to 4Jays and then braved the sketchy streets of Antioch to get to a little tiny store with bars on the window that pretty much looked closed. When I walked in, I think somebody said hi to me, but it may have just been the sound of the door creaking shut behind me. I guess the prices were ok, but everything looked VERY used and not in the best of shape. There was a decent selection of vintage Atari carts and hardware which is probably the store's strength. Other than that, it was a grab bag of common carts and discs and some loose systems. I was the only person in the store, but neither of the two girls behind the counter bothered to talk to me or ask me if I needed any help. Anybody who's ever worked retail knows that you've got to engage a customer and make them feel welcome if you ever want to sell anything! If I want this quality and selection of games, Games & Electronics in Fremont is a lot closer and the people are way more friendly. Maybe I should open my own videogame store? I've got a way better selection! read more

Very good very good very good very good very good me recommend very much cheap kinda idk

Really fun! Altogether, had a really fun time here with my family. I browsed for a while admiring all the great old classics. after browsing for a while I ended up buying a Nintendo 64. The only problem I had with the place was the Nintendo 64 controller I got was a bit dirty, but nothing a toothbrush couldn't fix. altogether I would recommend this place over buying online, and everything was a great price too, you could buy GameBoy advance games for about 2 dollars! read more

Really good video game shop! I came here when I was a kid back in the 90's with a friend of mine when the N64 had just come out. I am glad that it is still in business. Very friendly customer service, and their selection is one of the best you'll find ANYWHERE in the Bay Area. That's what impressed me most, the diversity in their console and games selection, especially considering its a pretty small shop. Thanks again guys, will definitely drop by next time I'm in the east bay. read more

4Jays is a great store. The staff is knowledgable of their stock and will help you as best as they can. You never need to explain the item you need. If you say "dualshock" they'll say " which color?" if you ask for Donkey Kong 64, they'll say "Would you like an N64 expansion pak with that?" They have consoles and games from every generation. The lady who answers the phone is very nice and will actually get up and look at the stock if you need an item. The man however doesn't seem to bother. I asked for RE2 on PS1 and he just said "no, we dont have it" without even thinking. I called back the next day and asked for the same game, and the lady who answered got up and rummaged through the display to see if it was in stock. It was! Contrary to what the guy said. Basically, this is an above average classic video game store. Although, the store exterior isnt very inviting. It's connected to a mechanic shop and it looks like a part of the mechanics. Hell, if it wasnt for the sign I'd just assume the dusty, barred windowed store was the office of the mechanics. I guess my only complaint is... The guy working there isn't exactly friendly and its uninviting exterior. Otherwise I'd give it a 4/5 read more

Always bring the boys into the store to get some new old video games. Has a good selection of the games I grew up playing. Fun memories! Good price! read more

Great inventory. Everything is very clean and organized. I had a great time and will definitely be returning, even though it's a bit of a trek from Oakland. read more

For game stores I think 4jays has the best prices. The people who work there seem like family and friends and I like that. They are usually nice to me and let me do my thing and dont bother me. I like that. Last time I was there I saw an older lady refurbing a Nes and that made me maddd jealous lol I wish my mom could do that. anyways ..... WHATS GOOD - prices, good selection and nice hands on shopping displays and organization. WHATS NOT SO GOOD- I've had issues with a couple games. I bought a shenmue for a crazy nice price of 20 dollars but disc one isnt working. and a copy of immortal for nes which hasnt worked overall I love this shop and you should most definitely give it a try. Just maybe test stuff out before making any major purchases... read more

This place is amazing!!!! A+ After searching various stores in my local area that will allow me the ability to grow my vintage video game collection, I stumbled across 4Jays Video Games. Tucked away in the quiet downtown area of Antioch it is the perfect place for this store. They have everything a "Video Game Junky" would want from Atari to Zelda they have it all and the prices are fantastic! Was able to pick up to older PS1 games and a NES with 2 Controllers and 2 Games for under $60 There customer service is very quiet and laid back, I personally like that, the last thing I want is some salesman trying to push something in my face I'm gonna regret buying when I get home. I will defiantly be back to purchase several more systems. Big plus is that they all come with a 30 day warranty. So if something happens they'll gladly replace/fix it! read more

I am a lover of video games! My service was great. The lady with the light brown hair I think her name was Rene. She was an awesome employee. Also the lady behind the counter, when I called she was very nice! This place has always gave me great service!!! read more

This really is as good as it gets. Reasonable prices and a tremendous selection. It could pass for a gaming museum as easily as it could a store. Friendly folks behind the counter that have been in the business for a long time. They know their stuff and are willing to have a nice conversation if that's what you're looking for. Thank you! read more

Found this store thanks to a show called gamecenter cx, store has lots of variety in terms of retro games. its a nice visit if you want to see some of your childhood games. Though it will be hard to find the specific game you want, there are lots that you will see that you wouldnt even think about getting. It is a nice trip back to memory lane. The prices are really low too so if you are a big retro game collector in sega, or nintendo games, maybe even older like atari you should definitely visit read more

I come to Antioch once a year and when I do I always stop here at 4jays. If you are an old school gamer like myself this is the place. I talked to the ol'man and he knows a technician that can fix intellivision consoles. They have just about everything here. My last visit I completed my NES black box game collection. The only game I didn't have was volleyball and the prices are very reasonable. Every year I come here and I never leave empty handed. read more

My brother and I absolutely love this store and their selection is great. It's really two bad the people that work here are...not very friendly? read more

Don't be deterred by its rag-tag appearance. Though small, this store has a LOT of vintage gaming equipment software. Everything from Atari 2600 to Xbox One. Their libraries of games are impressive. If you are into retro gaming, it might take you a while to look through it all. I know it did for me. read more

We were looking for a Super Nintendo for our son and an employee at Gamestop recommended 4Jays in Antioch. We were really amazed at the selection of games and we found everything on our list. They were very helpful and patient answering all my questions. Our son loved his birthday present and can't wait to visit there himself to get more games. read more

I agree the service may not be as good as Phoenix Games however the service was still good. The Prices are even better! I give this 5/5 because in the end for me great service is nice but the low prices are what won me over! I will be returning! They have everything from atari-ps3. read more

Best retro videogame store! If you are looking for anything from the Atari 2600 to the newer stuff stop by. Good family owned place and massive respect for their collection of retro goodies. I visit every three months or so to contribute to what I believe is a NorCal institution. read more

I've visited your store on 1/21/16 at 3:30 p.m.and I was so surprised the prices and service I've received it come a long drive from Cotati in Sonoma County and is definitely worth the drive I've heard you have in business for 17 years.I hope you stay strong with your business and hope the best in near future Sincerity yours:Jasondea37@gmail.com read more

Found this store a while back and was very pleased with it. The owner and his family are very nice and their prices are very fair. I am a person that goes after retro games and it's often worth the drive from the South Bay to come here. The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 is that more often than not they have the same inventory every time I go... Maybe it's me going there so infrequently, but I guess old stuff is becoming harder to come by now of days... Oh well, still run up there every once in a while, great store and organized better than most. thanks! read more

Bought some games for NES here. Every single one didn't work without cleaning. One was so dirty it caused the connector inside my NES to stop working, so I had to disassemble it to clean it good enough to work again. Prices on games sold in store range from nice to fair to more than ebay. I was offered 50 cents for a copy of Streets of Rage 3, the guy that made that offer called the owner and the offer doubled to a dollar! So if you want to trade in or sell games go somewhere. read more

Went there after many recommendations and the special episode of game center cx showed their store I decided to give them a visit. At first I thought I was in an abandoned area of town. When I went inside they have a big collection of games at a fair price. Most of the stuff I was looking for wasn't in stock since it was hard to find but they took my name and number down with the items I wanted with a smile. They were super friendly. I managed to get a copy of E.T. On the Atari 2600 and Shaq Fu on the SNES for 2.99 and 1.95 respectively. The staff were super friendly and engaged into conversation with me with no hesitation. They just earned a new customer in me. Though I live in the east bay I am will to drive out there to show my support after a fantastic first impression. read more

Customer service is just awful. Would give a zero star review if possible. The family who owns it and works there are incredibly rude and make you feel as if you shopping there and giving them your money is a burden to them. They will even flat out refuse to accept legal currency. If you want a huge library of great retro games at a great price and wonderful service then use eBay bit stay away from 4jays at all cost. read more

They have a wonderful selection of games. BUT they are the rudest sons of bitches ever! The video game they sold me did not work I asked if they can check what's wrong he looked at it and said its fine I asked him to try the game he tried and said its fine eve when there were glithhes. Do not visit their store! Go to the one in brentwood I would rather pay a couple more dollars and get great cutomer service athr than be helped by theyoung and older prick read more
