I've had a really nice interaction with one of their employees. That being said, recently there was an employee with a goatee that was one of the most condescending people I've ever met. Making a joke about an 9 year old Nintendo game being full price was met with immediate hostility, as if the employee worked for Nintendo itself. He told me that the price would never drop and it shouldn't, so I should just accept it. What a jerk. I wanted to like this location since it's the one I've been going to since I started gaming again years ago. I tend to develop loyalty to places I go to. I've refrained for a long time from writing a bad review. I wish this place was AT LEAST better, if not good. I'm not sure if all GameStops are like this. This place employs entitled young adults who never seem to have a good day. It's like they hate their lives. I'm a nice person and I always show up in a good mood, but it's tough to not let their vibe ruin your good mood. I don't like bothering people so when I sense they don't want to small talk, I avoid engaging. However, the one time I did, I received the most robotic, "can you stop talking" vibe I've ever received in my life from anyone. There's this flamboyant Asian employee there who had a fit when I came to exchange my controller because I mistakenly thought I received the same old controller back, since it didn't work that good (Xbox build quality). The employees are so lousy, that one time I lined up where they set up their markers- "line starts here." Someone went to their counter, cutting me, and they saw it. Yet they still helped that person first. Honestly, the whole experience at this store for the past 4-5 years has made me not want to shop at GameStop anymore as a whole. I've read reviews. I've heard stories, but I couldn't imagine it was this bad. Don't get time wrong. There are a couple good employees there. Francisco is always bubbly and brings great vibes. The Hispanic/black girl is pretty cool, too. The short Mexican guy with the droopy eyes probably hates his life the most outni Avoid this place at all costs, but if you do go, have your arsehole suit on and ready to show them you're not the one to be treated like crap. I also went there during this COVID-19 stuff, after checking the hours, and their open sign was turned off, doors locked. I stood there for a while, then knocked. Ok. I went to this GameStop yesterday with my friend because she wanted me to buy a COD game, and when we were ready to pay, a cashier ended up replacing the NEW COD game for a pre-owned one for us to be able to get the insurgence for it just in case something happened to it. Tell me why, when it finally downloaded this morning, it did not want to work. I cleaned it and made sure it wasn't upside down. Then that's when I realized it just wasn't working AT ALL. This cashier literally did me, and MAINLY my friend dirty, because it was over $60 what she paid for. This pre-owned overpriced piece of shit was NOT fucking worth it. *My son and I love this GameStop* This location my son and I come here at least once a month. Just to check things out and look at some games we both want. My Son is mainly into sports games,* FPS *First Person Shooter, *Rpg's* Role Playing Games and Fighting games (Street Fighter) . I pretty much enjoy the same games as my son. But I also love action type games *Devil May Cry* and Survival horror *Resident Evil* GameStop has the games that we're both interested. So yeah we're gamers alright. Just like any other GameStop. They sell Xbox 360 and ONE games. PS3 and Ps4 games and Wii and Wii-U games. Along with the handheld games. They do carry some Pc games but not a lot. GameStop also has a giant selection of used videogames. I didn't use to buy them in years past. But I love buying them when they offer the buy 2 get one free. Another thing is cool, if you pay $15 for a year. You get a year 12 issues of Game Informer along with a discount card that saves you like 15% off used games. The staff is always amazing here. Rudy the store Manager is a cool guy and Saleen a cashier is super nice and friendly. I was helped by Louis today and he has good customer service skills. Black guy, Correy, that works here is rude. All of the employees are very disorganized and lost: they will tell you they have an item in stock when they are actually don't. They don't take the time to go to the back and verify their inventory. I drove over 30 miles, and when I got to the store they didn't even have the console they told me they had in stock just 30 minutes before over the phone. Then I was being very patient and told them that whatever console they have is fine. Then they listed out the inclusions of the bundles and had me make a choice. Then Correy was dishonest with me and said that the bundle I chose doesn't include the accessories I want even though he just listed it out to me 5 minutes before ( he wanted to get me out the door so he can clock out). This was his first lie. I asked them for documentation on the bundle information, they handed it to me and proves them wrong and told them that they were jipping me of an accessory that the paper shoes is included. So Correy came up with his 2nd lie and said that the computer won't let him select/add that accessory, and that it's for the other bundle only. So an Asian guy that was working there was actually helpful and told Correy that we can still cancel the transaction and have me purchase the alternative bundle. This was nice of the Asian guy, but then Correy just wanted to get off his shift and said that the accessory can't be attached and was already at his 2nd excuse. Again, I'm paying for this and he's not giving me an item I'm paying for that is suppose to be included. Then to top it off, Correy said out of no where, we're actually out of stock of that accessory. Knowing that there was nothing I can do about it if it's out of stock, but funny how 5 minutes before it was not out of stock, it was included in another bundle. When I was leaving, I said thank you, and told them I would have appreciated if the information I was given on the phone was correct, because it takes 2 seconds for them to walk to the back room to verify inventory and they were being lazy. After I said this, instead of Correy or anyone giving a genuine "sorry for being disorganized, we will try our best to have things in order next time", Correy really showed his unprofessionalism and passive aggressive customer service when he gave me the condescending and generic "have a great day SIR". It was rude, they could have just owned up to misinformation they gave me over the phone. Lastly, they were closing the door few minutes before 8pm, I got lucky that the guy was at the door ready to close and let me in. It shouldn't be closing prematurely just because you want to get off your shift. This guy clearly just does not want to work. Please respect the closing time. The fact they rushed me out and didn't give me all my items in my bundle and were trying to close early just shows what was on their mind, clocking out and going back to their miserable lives. I would be miserable too if I worked at a GameStop for minimum wage and just to get discounts to video games. I suppose I would be bitter at the world too. read more

Best Gamestop in Stockton. I used to work at this one fin 06 about a year. The entire staff has changed but the new people are awesome as well. Salina is great! I come here for midnight launches especially and win cool free stuff and they have a DJ out front. In fact I'm coming here for the Call of Duty Black Ops 2 midnight launch tonight! This Gamestop has a lot of games to look through and they always help me find what I need. They also still have some of the more obscure rare items that other Gamestops stopped carrying. read more

This Game Stop is the best of the four, well it's what I think... They are usually staffed well enough to ask questions and not feel like a pest. All staff is well informed and knowledgeable in all video games, which is good for this ol' skool loving Mario Bro's I and III, Mario Kart, and new skool loving Dance Central. :) I feel safer at this location too! The time I pulled up to Hammer Ln Gamestop i felt super threatened and scared for the two employees that were inside (i think this was around Christmas a couple of years ago, when XBOX Connect was a Hot commodity). I love the membership perks, that if having a membership and a new game is coming out and you want it, you pay towards the game ahead and you have one on hold before the heard at midnight sell them out! read more

Pretty much the best GameStop I've been to when it comes to service. GameStop everywhere now carries the newer generation of games, so do not expect to see Playstation 2 games anywhere now. This GameStop is pretty much the same GameStop stores you see anywhere, with a similar layout and such. However, the service and the workers are amazing. They're not just workers, but gamers as well. If you bring up a game into a conversation, they'll talk about the game, similar titles to it, and so on. I'm actually surprised that they will remember you when you visit again within a week. Overall, it's pretty much the same GameStop everywhere else. But the workers make this one of the best ones I've been to. read more

Great Gamestop! I used to go to the one in the mall but I always felt like the workers were staring at me as if I was going to steal or something. This location always seems to have what I want in stock. And everytime I'm here the employees talk to me abuot my game choice and sometimes suggest similar games. But never in the pressuring "you HAVE to buy this game" sort of way. What's even better, is sometimes I can't find a game used, so I go to buy a new one, and they tell me they have the used in stock. I came in today around 1 pm to purchase a new PS4 system along with games. I met two of your employees (Maria and a Hispanic tall male cashier). After suggesting that I wanted to purchase a new game console and a few games I had a few questions about which games would be best for my young children. The cashier Maria was rude, short and NOT very suggestive at all. She mentioned "game ratings" for certain age ranges and I stressed again "which are popular games for elementary children." She again tells me like I am an uneducated idiot that younger kids games apply to this rating and older kids have this rating. From the way she behaved and was acting she definitely had some type of racial bias against me. It is unfortunate because I will also leave a very negative feedback on Yelp as well as any other online avenue for GameStop. I wanted a helpful and positive experience because this is what you guys pay your employees to do no? To provide excellent customer service? I bought a $400 game console system with a few games and this the bullshit they give you. Horrible service. Went with to get my bf the deluxe madden 17 that I preordered and the female worker almost sold the last deluxe edition to someone who did not preorder. She was Caucasian, short, and petite. I could of sworn preorder means I get a copy no matter what. So she was going to get a mouth full if she sold it to the person who did not preorder. Never going there again. Would not recommend going there. The one on lower sac I would recommend, best service there NOT HERE W MARCH LANE. I don't plan on shopping at any GameStop again any time soon and if I do it's because they are the last resort with absolutely no other option because the customer service I received today was horrible. I was purchasing a Xbox one headset adapter and I simply asked if it could be price matched or something because Best Buy had it brand new for 24.99 and here it was used for 29.99 with is in a way outrageous but Best Buy didn't have it in stock. However when I asked I was responded with " oh we don't price match just go buy it there since it's cheaper". My very own job consists of customer service and that's not how you respond at all. We find a way to make something happen so the customer leaves happy and I did not leave happy. I chose not to argue because I hate causing a scene but I will not be returning any time soon. Or possibly not at all. And also my package was missing a part and although it was not a part I needed she still neglected any type of compensation. So like I said. Never again. read more
