I purchased red dead redemption recently and it kept freezing In the loading screen. I called them as I live in Merced and was not going to make it back out to Modesto within the 7 day return/exchange period. Diego said since I contacted and stayed in touch he would accept my return or try and clean up the disc when I came in. When I did make it in after cleaning the disc a scratch remained and he recommended that i try their sister store utopia down the street since he did not have another copy. I found it at utopia and ended up getting the zombie version and red dead two also. I went back to return the copy I purchased from laughing crow but asked if I could exchange it for some enamel pins and cleaning the discs I bought instead of a refund since utopias disc cleaner wasn't working. He was pleased with the idea and we agreed on that. My experience with this store has been positive and it's clear this business and its workers stand by their product and their word. I am a lifetime customer now. Thanks Diego!

I've been into Pokémon cards for quite…read morea while, so I was excited to take my girlfriend's kids to this shop for their very first pack-opening experience. Unfortunately, the visit was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The storefront looked boarded up with wood covering much of the exterior, and it was so dark inside that I honestly couldn't tell if the store was open. Once inside, my girlfriend's son politely asked the employee behind the counter how much a pack cost. The employee responded with, "I can guarantee it's more than you have in your wallet." I was shocked by how rude and dismissive that was, especially toward a kid. That's not the kind of welcome I would expect from an employee. I then told him I wanted to purchase three Prismatic Evolutions packs. He looked at me and said, with an attitude, "You know they're like $20 each, right?" I told him that was fine, but the interaction left a bad impression. What should have been a fun and memorable experience for the kids turned into an uncomfortable one because of the poor customer service. I spent $100 on 6 packs of cards and i was going to buy more cards but didn't want to give them anymore business. I won't be shopping here again and cannot recommend this store based on my experience.

I was only looking for Nintendo Switch games (Skyrim, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Disgaea 5) so I went online and called some stores to see if I could take advantage of the offer. I couldn't find those games without bouncing around stores within a 30 mile radius. Before I prepared myself to go through this dumb endeavor, I decided to stop by the Lodi Gamers store and see if they had the three games I was looking for. It turns out they did. The store did not advertise any similar promotions so I expected (what I assume to be) the store manager to say that they wouldn't do it. But he did. He rang up all three games and discounted one of them by 100%. I saved a couple more dollars because their pre-owned pricing is a bit cheaper than Gamestops. I said it a couple times at the store but I want to say again: I wholly appreciate your help. Needless to say, Lodi Gamers surpassed my expectations with their friendliness and customer service. Five stars.

As her major was psychology, he suggested a seminal book that she might like. So, I went on Amazon and ordered it in hardcover. They promptly shipped it in paperback. I returned it and reordered the hardbound. Again, they shipped me a paperback and, just for good measure, refused to publish my truthful review (which Amazon asked for in the first place) as I am not allowed to say anything that might reflect badly on a seller. So, I ordered it from Barnes and Noble in Modesto. Not only was it the edition I wanted, it was ready in minutes and good value for the price. When I stopped by to pick it up, the clerk was cheerful, helpful, and an all-around good ambassador for the B&N brand. I had forgotten how good these folks are. Amazon lost a book buyer and reviewer. Barnes and Noble Modesto gained both.
