Got takeout here a few times. First time I got the Veggie Philly, which comes with roasted Portobello mushrooms and roasted peppers. The seasoning was just right and ingredients all worked well together. Bread made the sandwich very good. The second time, I got the Goat sandwich which comes with goat cheese, caramelized onions, fig balsamic vinaigrette, arugula, avocado, etc. The bread made this one great as well. I wish the ingredients were more evenly distributed though.. I hate having all the onions on one side and cheese on the other. I would get it without the avocado next time. It didn't contribute much to the sandwich in my opinion. I have also had the tater tots here which have been hit or miss. The first time, they were too salty and not that crispy. Second time was way better and spot on with the crispiness. Staff is friendly. Music is very loud in there so I waited outside for my order. They also have cheesecakes that I haven't tried yet. Legit the best sandwiches I've had in a while. We've ordered several different sandwiches from them now and none of them disappoint. I'm a huge fan of their burrata sandwiches, I've tried both the breakfast burrata sandwich and the BLT Burrata sandwich and oh man, so good! This is a generous 2-stars, y'all. TL; DR: if an outer-borough sandwich joint is charging prices comparable to that area's nicer sit down restaurants - let alone pushing Manhattan prices - it's fair to expect they're offering service, packaging/presentation, and all ingredients on a higher level. This was not my experience with Compton's, making them nowhere near worth the price point for this guy. The experience: I ordered their breakfast sandwich with sausage, the bacon/egg/burrata, and mozzarella sticks. With tax, that's pushing $30 for two sandwiches and one side. Considering the ingredients, could be a fair price point as long as everything is on point. 35-45 mins delivery estimate. In total, 1.5-hrs from ordering to delivery (I could walk there in 15-mins, door-to-door). Had everything been fresh and ready to eat right out of the bag? Hiccups happen. Try again to see if it was a fluke. Had to reheat everything. Cheese in the sticks coagulated. Vodka sauce and both sandwiches tepid, at best (kind of a sin to have to nuke fried sticks and burrata). As pictured, both sandwiches flattened, and the BEB just soggy. And I'd think they'd use a better roll than your standard bodega roll for the price point, and package sandwiches so they keep their shape (read: a box worth the price, not just paper and aluminum foil. I can name a number of local restaurants and Italian delis doing just that, which protects product integrity). Either way, this order sat a while before it ever headed out the door. Plus, Grubhub prices are even higher for some items than the slight raise in price on Caviar. I presume you'll likely get a better representation of what you're paying for and overall experience if you order and eat in-house. For delivery, if I can't tell the difference between the bag from the bodega/local Italian market and the bag I shelled out twice as much (and get half as much) for? I actually forgot to take a picture of the sandwich because I gobbled it up so fast. Burrata BLT was amazing! The balance of sweet and salty was just right. I recommend eating it right after it has been prepared because the water from the tomato is going to soak the bread quickly. Fortunately, I was able to eat before the bread became all soggy. With the moisture from tomato and a lot of toppings sticking out of the sandwich, it's hard to eat without making a mess, but I guess it's part of the experience. I bought the apple cider donut with the GrubHub first time deal ($4 off for $16 min order) too. Apple cider donut is pretty good, it's not crazy delicious but was acceptable. read more

I went in with about 4 different options because I couldn't decide and the guy working was very helpful, he help me choose a very tasty option that was not the most expensive (usually people try to get you to buy the most expensive option). The two things ordered were the Enzo- chicken cutlet, burrata cheese, lettuce, tomato and fig balsamic glaze AND the vegan burger- vegan veggie patty, avocado roasted red pepper, arugula, red onion. After this third time, I decided to mention it to the manager in a very cordial way. This is where I was met with 'ya, people make mistakes' AKA not his problem. The bread was oily and not crisp, despite being toasted, and the sandwich was rather dry and bland. The vodka sauce on the sandwich was not noticeable in taste or texture, and if there wasn't a hint of pink I would've believe it was even on it. This is my go to sandwich place if you ever in Astoria! Unfortunately they don't offer the ohmegee sandwich on Uber eats which is my absolute favorite so we tried some new sandwiches. The belief nyc is similar to the ohmegee just without the fries and less cheesy. It was good but definitely not on the same level as the ohmegee. The other sandwich we got is called Jimmy's fight was really good but also very spicy from the jalapeños so be warned if you are not good with spicy. Comptons chicken never disappoints and it was very crispy for both sandwiches. Probably will go back to my favorites (ohmegee and the izzy) but these two sandwiches were definitely good. read more
