We went popcorn chicken, Korean fried wings and spicy mozzarella sticks and they all delicious Smash Burger (2) Combo ($19) was simple but done right For my daughter, the Grizzly Kids Meal ($12) is a solid option. Had a pretty nice lunch here. Upon setting foot inside the restaurant, it has a fast casual setting, adequate seating, a bar further in the restaurant, it's almost like a place common in Bushwick and Williamsburg. Wasn't too busy when I went in so I was able to find somewhere to sit easily. The waitress noticed me almost instantly and did a solid job serving what I wanted out of the restaurant. She seemed to be the only one there which I hope wasn't the case but with only 3 people including me in there at the time, I'm sure she can manage. I got the 2 Smashburger w/ Fries lunch special, Root Beer & a Chocolate Milkshake supposedly made from organic ice cream and was pretty good. Bareburger might be one of the last affordable meal options left in this part of Astoria. Came here on a Friday night and was able to immediately get a table. Our server promptly placed complimentary popcorn on our table, which was warm and salty, like movie theater popcorn. Ambiance wise its pretty much a rustic looking bar with a bunch of booths in the front and back of the place. I ordered a vodka mule which was only $11, anywhere else around here its running you upwards of $15. Cocktails are even cheaper during happy hour which we missed, but I'll definitely be back for it. My smashburger combo came with fries and lots of toppings, all for a meager $12. It was delicious, fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy and the burger was juicy and flavorful. On top of already being a deal, they were offering a promotion when you paid through the InKind app, which gave us an extra $25 off. Bareburger is the one place that makes me into a cheap date, and I'm totally okay with that. read more

I had a nice time at Bareburger, from its pleasant and bumping energy to its friendly wait staff. I got takeout on a Monday evening, with about five to six people ahead of me in line for takeout. I noticed, spread across the three different seating areas, about half the tables were full with a party in the enclosed outdoor yard. Because of the busyness, it took about 25 minutes for me to receive my food- a Blue Bison burger with vanilla shake. The server apologized for the atypical delay, but I didn't mind too too much as I was Very happy with the meal. Despite the steeper cost, at about $20 for the meal, it was an incredibly tasty burger that hit a unique taste and filled me up completely. The experience honestly reminded me of, although it can never surpass, Portillos, the Midwest chain with phenomenal burger and shakes. We had plans to go to a different burger joint which ended up being closed for renovations, a couple had walked up to the same restaurant and realized it was closed as well and told us there's a spot called bareburger not to faraway. Our most recent order was over 40 minutes late and we were told they had no control over when the food is delivered. I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. This is not the first time food was not delivered and after three phone calls, we never received a refund. No one is on site tonight to issue a refund so I will call again tomorrow.
