Ther are quite a lot of burger joints along 30th Avenue with one right next door to OG Burger. So, what makes OG Burger different? From what I can see, they are one of the few burger joints that is Halal. Here's what I ordered for takeout: Chicken Slider ($9.03): First of all... this is not a tiny slider. It's basically a full sandwich. Fried chicken breast with coleslaw, pickles, and OG sauce on the side. The chicken itself was fine -- nothing mind-blowing -- but the OG sauce definitely helped and pulled it together. Solid, but mostly because of the sauce. Kids Burger meal ($13.03): comes with cheeseburger, fries and drink. You can customize toppings and choose regular or seasoned fries. The Halal beef had a noticeably cleaner taste -- not greasy or heavy. It was a good size and actually filling. Honestly, this felt like a great value for a kids meal. They serve Boylan fountain drinks instead of Coke or Pepsi, which was a surprise. I'd never had it before and really liked it. Onion Rings ($6.03): when I got home, I was sad to see that they forgot to give me the onion rings. I checked my receipt and confirmed I was charged for it but they forgot to include it in my bag. What a bummer! Overall a good first impression. The Halal angle definitely sets them apart, the fries were great, and the portions were generous. If they can stay consistent (and remember the onion rings), they'll hold their own amongst the plethora of competition along 30th Ave. Tip: sign up for their VIP Program to get discounts and give aways.

We got the family special that consisted of four beef burgers, fries, and drinks. The beef felt under seasoned and rather plain, and the fries did not hold up in the twenty minute drive home and we soggy, limp, and meh. We came for grand opening and got some shakes which were also just average with BARELY any hint of the flavors I ordered. The caramel tasted just like vanilla. The pineapple did have some bits in it but like the other flavors we got, just had a trace of the flavor. That can easily be amended by adding more syrup, sauce whatever it is they use to flavor the shakes. They were initially very thick but melted into a thin drink about thirty min later, so consistency wise you can enjoy both. Admittedly I am not a beef burger eater at all. I prefer chicken and due to the parameters of the special I elected to go for the discount as opposed to my personal preference of chicken. They had some supposedly super spicy chicken sandwich that looked appetizing but I can't see myself making the trip just for that. I do wish them all the success and since they just opened naturally there will be plenty of room to make changes and improve. Adding more seasoning to their beef blend will be a great place to start.

Haha. I mean it's actually some pretty salty breading but honestly great with the chicken meat itself which isn't quite at salty at all. Get the chubby sauce too (which would probably be great with some fries but I just can't get myself to do fried potatoes when I'm doing fried chicken even though I love both). The red onions were meticulouslu cooked down in garlic butter on his griddle, and the burger patty (100% fresh, by the way) was cooked on grill using wood chip-fueled fire.
