I ordered 2 quarter chicken and quarter rib meals for delivery. Each comes with a side and a sauce. I requested a side of rice and a side of mac & cheese for the sauces, I ordered green sauce for both. I think my initial disappointment with this place started when my delivery arrived and I did not get the sauce that I requested. I highly doubt this place ran out of green sauce, and I don't know if maybe green sauce is not an option when ordering this meal, however, if it was not available, I would've liked to been told. Overall, I have no complaints with the chicken and the meat aspect of our meals, but I did think the mac & cheese was extremely bland as well as the rice. The meat was tender and moist, but the sides were a real disappointment. I'm not entirely convinced I would give this place a second try, and if I did, I would probably not get the meal. read more

Pretty decent spot with very delicious BBQ chicken and ribs. Place is a tad bit on the small side but there weren't a lot of people inside so it was easy for me to sit in and eat. The lady behind the counter while not really friendly was polite and served me in adequate and proper time. I ordered the 1/4 Chicken and Ribs along with rice and beans, pita bread and a dessert of chocolate pudding on the side. The entree really hit the spot, the ribs were so tender and juicy and so was the chicken. I enjoyed that meal but it filled me up a bit too proper, I didn't have much room for dessert so I took it home with me. My order overall was $25 and I say it was pretty decent. The food is great here. Chicken really speaks for itself. It is a bit higher priced than other places that have similar but still worth it. Reason why I'm not giving more than 3 stars is because of the poor service. I've gone numerous times and the service is always disappointing. Also, I saw some other Yelp reviews stating that the employees don't wear masks. I noticed the front employees wearing masks but it's true, the ones in the back cooking do not wear masks. I live right across the street from Chicken Shack and I tried them on a whim recently. They specialize in all kinds of meat and seem to use charcoal broiling as their main mode of cooking. I've only tried their broiled half chicken so far and the smokey flavor is so delicious. The chicken meal comes with pita bread that also absorbs the charcoal and chicken flavor. Their fries are nothing special so I recommend opting for another side. I think the one problem with Chicken Shack is that it can be hit or miss. Depending the day, your order can either taste amazing or just be okay. Within a weeks time, my experience with them went from incredible to mediocre. Funny enough, the incredible experience was ordering delivery from them! They definitely have the potential to be great if they maintain their quality and the freshness of their food consistently. The sides were equally bad. The mashed potatoes were mealy and the mac and cheese was wet and flavorless. We got the meal to go and ended up throwing out most of it. When I called to ask for a refund, the manager said they have the right to give us whatever pieces they want. When I told him I didn't live close by, he said my only option was to drive back so he can look at it then decide what to do. He then hung up on me. Delivery/seamless review: Food is good. I get the tenders/nuggets / wings (dry rub, sauce is on the side). Their the perfect fry not to had or seasoned just right. It's a nice addition to Broadway & I was happy with my grilled chicken breast & orzo (with feta & chopped peppers mixed in). However it was a bit salty, as it seems like the usual with chicken spots. The food was satisfying, but a kind of empty fullness that you would get with eating fast food. Had a take out order last night, I ordered the grilled tilapia and my bf ordered the lamb chops priced at $22 I may add, instead of lamb chops they gave us the lamb gyro platter with some type of meat that doesn't even taste like lamb .. the tilapia was so burnt I had two decent bites from it. My sister and I stumbled upon Chicken Shack We were standing outside thinking we wanted Greek food but didn't know where to go. We decided to just going to the Chicken Shack and lo and behold Greek food The giro sandwich was fresh and delicious with healthy portions of lamb. The half roasted chicken was moist and tender. Really flavorful. The platanos maduro were cooked perfectly with just the exact amount of char. I have severe food allergies to anything red pepper or Cheyenne. The manager was very thoughtful and made sure I was safe. He also remembered my sister and I and my allergies when we came back a few days later. Clean and respectful staff. Yummy read more

Four stars for fantastic service & taste, 2.5 stars for wait time & incorrect order. Came in on a Sunday night and was the only order being placed in the restaurant at the current time. We ordered 1/4 chicken with a mac & cheese, chicken tenders with Spanish rice and beans and an order of mozzarella sticks - that's it. We waited 30+ minutes while the entire restaurant became filled with people and they received a lot of online/phone orders. They ran out of mashed potatoes so asked for the rice and beans and we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally the order was ready, we walked home and realized our sides never made it in the bag. This wouldn't have been such an issue if we didn't wait so long for the order - not sure how a quick quality check was missed at that point. I called and I'm assuming the manager answered, he worked with his team to get the sides prepared as a rush and delivered them to my door within 5 minutes - no exaggeration. Chicken Shack is back and just as mediocre as ever. Recently a fire in the neighboring store put CS out of commission for a couple of months. CS was previously on 30th Ave but when the lease came due and the landlord insisted on a gargantuan lease payment, Alex thought it appropriate to move elsewhere. I perceive quality to be consistent with other chicken joints in the hood. Methinks it laden with preservatives because whenever I have eat at CS I become overly thirsty. For me this is anecdotally indicative of overly usage of MSG or similar flavor enhancers. Thus my rating is based on the food. The chicken is always fresh and costs a little more than similar neighboring restaurants. I primarily swing by because my munchkin likes the chicken. Thus my rating is based solely on the food. However, today marks my final visit because they don't have a bathroom for in-store dinners. When I complained the owner said to me that based on the number of tables he wasn't required to have a bathroom by the building department. Perhaps that's true but what does that have to do with good business sense? Especially since several even smaller restaurants come to mind that care about their dinners. My feeling is that the proprietors didn't feel like spending the money for this most basic of accommodations. C'est la vie. I wish Alex all the best and please consider this unsolicited suggestion in the helpful manner in which it is meant: ease up on whatever it is you are using in the sauce and chicken rub. read more

Reminds me of the Kennedy Fried Chicken places that are both the butt of jokes and the envy of drunks throughout the city and parts of Long Island. This place, though, looks a bit nicer. Look nicer. I should have gotten something besides chicken nuggets, because they tasted no better than store-bought nuggets made by someone who knows their way around an oven. Expensive, too! Worst food I've eaten in years... Or not eaten. I got delivery and they were lightning fast. This turns out to not be a good thing. The buffalo wings were not buffalo wings at all. They were flavorless, breaded, stale and hard. I'm surprised my friend didn't hurt his mouth on them. His words? "If I was drunk this might be okay". My lamb platter which was supposed to come with a side of fries just had the fries dumped in it. The fries were soggy by the time they got here and the heat of the fries coming from the fryer cooked some of the lettuce. There was this random block of feta on the side which wasn't mentioned anywhere. My friend joked and said "at least they can't mess up a can of club soda" and I joked with "unless they pissed on the lid". A minute later I hear "why does this taste funny?" I think it's a joke. No. We have a closer look. There's something brown that was now floating around the rim of the can. It was hidden in the crevice of the can and under the tab. There's nothing special about this place. Food is ok. Rip off. First they gave me the wrong food which I had to drive all the way back. I ordered the Caesar salad w chicken and side of ribs.. Omg they charge me 9 for ribs. No meat not worth it... The owner or manager didnt even apologize for the mistake.. Finally when I open my salad the lettuce was wilted.. The Chicken Shack moved from 30th Ave to Broadway a couple of months ago. The new location is about a quarter of the size of the old one. While I never ate inside the old location; I always ordered delivery through Seamless and always enjoyed my meals. This new place is tight, but comfortable. The wife is eating healthy these days and she wanted a salad so we stopped by last Saturday. We had a small Greek salad for $8.05 total. A little steep, but if was a decent salad. Fresh greens, lettuce, tasty feta cheese, mild vinagrete dressing. I just think more value could have been provided for eight bucks. The Chicken Shack does a huge take out business, but with the move it is a longer distance to my apartment. With the cold weather coming up; I have to think twice about ordering delivery. Overall, I like the new place. It is nicely constructed and I felt very comfortable. They had a specials board outside with some decent deals. I always love a deal. Definitely a place to stop by if your in the mood for grill chicken. read more

Let me start by saying, I would definitely order from here again. Prices are good, delivery was fast and the delivery driver was so nice. The food: The grape leaves are super delicious, so were the bbq ribs. My boyfriend wanted a burger so I chose a restaurant that had burger in the name...but weird when I checked it out on yelp, no burger in the title. No biggie but odd that the burgers are so basic and they don't let you add anything, bacon, avocado, etc so to me you are missing out. Regardless he enjoyed his basic cheeseburger! He also got the chicken fingers and fries and they were good. We also ordered the grilled wings which I was the most excited about, but they had a weird grill taste, not sure if it was a grill cleaner or a dirty grill it was just and odd taste. Everything else was good so I am just chalking it up to a bad night and I will try again because grilled wings are my favorite. Fast, friendly and you even get coffee brewed for you. My favorites here are the lamb chops, and chicken meals with a choice of sides, such as rice and beans. Since this store moved from 30th Avenue last year this has been my go to chicken eatery and except for a fire in the back of the store last year Alex and his loyal team are friendly and fast, not to mention there is free wi-fi and TV showing soccer and other sports most hours of the day Footnote: I went past this eatery today and it was closed. I wanted to take a trip down memory lane at the end of Memorial Days Weekend, but it was not meant to be. The last time I came here was in 2017, and I had stopped going after that because I saw that the quality went down south and a gave them a bad review. I hoped that after all these years should have been enough time for them to have improved, but it was not so. I ordered the usual, one salmon steak dish and one shrimps dish. I'm guessing that if you don't specify "grilled shrimp", and just say "shrimp", that it defaults to fried shrimp, which was the garbage that I got, and went straight to the trash. The salmon steak got more thinner than before, a shadow of its former self. The rice now is plain white rice like you get in Chinese Take Outs, when it used to be yellow. They went from including grilled vegetables, to including jar vegetables, to no vegetables. This place seem good only for chicken and french fries. That's it. Never again will I go. read more

ordered takeout, so incredibly slow- it took 2 hours to get our delivery, we called multiple times, they just kept saying whatever nonsense they could think of. first it was "you're near the edge of the delivery zone" then it was "he'll be there in just a minute" after which we waited another half hour. Then finally the driver called and said "you have to come down and get the food, I'm not going to be able to find parking" we said "it's been 2 hours, can we get some of our money back?" the person said "I'm the owner, I'm bringing your food" when my wife talked to the driver (downstairs) he said he didn't understand english and he was just the delivery person couldn't do any kind of refund. the food was completely ordinary, but it didn't matter since it took so long to arrive. they complained that we lived too far away, but we ordered on their website, where they control the delivery area. we'll never order here again read more
