They completed the repair at the stated cost and more or less on time. Only a day late and 3 trips. Paul needs to stop making promises if he can't deliver. It's far better to have a realistic idea of how long it will take. AND he needs to stop telling me how much someone else would charge. It makes him sound like a frantic car salesman, and you wonder if you haven't made a big mistake in handing over your device. Stop flitting from one customer to another. Just deal with the one in front of you and then the next. I was there over an hour each time.Three times. Stop lying to the customers: they lost my charger and then pretended it was defective so they'd provide me a "free" one in replacement. Stop telling me someone else would deactivate my bitlocker for a "whole lot of money" but if I would bring the device back on Monday they'd do it "for free." I got home, looked it up online and fixed it myself in about 3 clicks. Overall, they did the work I needed. But it was needlessly painful. read more

I feel super disappointed with this place. Got my iPhone 7+ plus screen replaced and they charged me at least $50-$70 more than other places I've seen. I feel Like I got ripped off and taken advantage of. They charged me $170 and I've seen several other places nearby charging around $100. Don't go here. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THESE GUYS! I went in yesterday to get a phone repaired to complete a trade in with my local service provider. The glass was cracked on both the front and the back of the phone. A service guy named Paul told me that the phone would be to expensive to fix for a trade in and that he would just keep my phone and give me a different phone that I can just trade in to get a new phone with my service provider. I agreed to this. After about 20 minutes Paul told me that the phone he was giving me was going to only get there at 6:00 from one of his business partners. I left the store. I came back at 6:00 to pick up the phone I was promised. Paul then said he still didn't have the phone, and if I could come tomorrow. I told him that I didn't have time to come back the next day. After this he gave me a phone that was supposed to work in the trade in. I took this phone to my local T-mobile. The guys there have to do an inspection before trade in. They told me that the liquid sensors on the phone were removed, the camera under had dust and that the phone just looked like someone put together a bunch of parts from different iPhones. I called Paul and explained this to him. He told me they would deliver me another phone within 30 minutes. I waited for the delivery for 2.5 hours and still nothing came. In the end I went and took back my phone. I would not recommend this service to anyone. Avoid at all costs even if it means paying a little more somewhere else. These guys are straight up scammers and manipulators. One of the other guys there named Vitaly is a good guy he tried to help as best he could. While I was in the store a few other customers were complaining about Paul changing his prices on them right before charging their credit card. AWEFUL AWEFUL PEOPLE!!!! Went in today after calling and confirming that they had the iphone we were looking for, upon arriving we were bummed to hear they didn't have it but Paul (The Owner) let us know he would have a phone for us within 20 minutes we went to the nearby safeway and came back and he had the iphone we wanted , he discounted it for us threw in a matching case and tempered glass as well as a charger for free, he even gave me a clear case for my iphone and also put tempered glass on my phone for free, it definitely was more than we expected. Just upgraded my phone situation substantially thanks to Paul, Alex and the rest of the folks at Comprite Happy Valley. Changed out a defective port, battery and speaker in an iPhone XR for a very reasonable price, even took the time move over my data and threw in a class shield at no additional charge. They upgraded my computer last year and fixed my son's iPhone recently as well for less than $100. I'll tell you, this place is BUSY. Nonstop customers coming in and out and these guys are hustling (no, not that kind of hustling). If you're patient, you will be rewarded with excellent customer service, competent technicians and salesmen, and an exceptionally square deal for whatever you're seeking. It's old school service at old school prices. If you want a slick, cheesy Verizon Store type experience then I'm sure you won't have to go far; if, however, you want good service at a fair price, Comprite is the place. read more

This business has my loyalty with my blessings. I brought an iPad that had a cracked screen. Not only was it fixed to perfection, but returned in a most timely manner. A technician was on premises from their Lake Oswego store, and took care of the screen replacement, added a screen protector, and polished the casing to its preuse perfection. Paul carefully explained my options, was warm and kind in talking with me. He was knowledgeable and practical with me and other customers. I was so pleased with the eztra touches he took to make sure the experience was satisfying. I purchased a laptop while there, and he took the time to explain options, there was no pressure to buy a higher priced machine. He listened to what I wanted, and presented the best choices. I was mostly happy with the service I received here; I'm taking away a star based on an element of service I will explain at the end of the review. On 2/1/2017 My laptop was having an issue with the power system, and the techs at CompRite got me back up and running again way sooner than I was expecting. I found a coupon on their website, so the price was very reasonable. As far as criticism: well, this is a small business and there are only a couple of people operating the front of the store. When I arrived I was told to wait at a counter, and stood there for several minutes while the owner chatted with someone, and the other counter person was helping someone. Techs were coming to and from the back of the store, and they ignored me. As a computer tech myself, I get it -- techs don't want to have to interact with people, they just want to do their job. However, from a customer service standpoint, it's poor customer service to completely ignore someone, and I made eye contact with people several times before I had to demand that someone help me. For the owner and/or store manager: make sure your techs at least ask someone standing there what's wrong and make some effort to help your customers. I know techs just want to work on systems, but in the very least ask what's going on, and make an assurance that someone will be with them as soon as possible. read more

BEWARE!! Bait and switch. I called to see about getting 2 hard drives copied from older desktops. I was told there was no charge, but I would need to buy the memory. When I got there suddenly it was $60 for the service plus $40 for the memory. I asked "for both?" and was told they would only charge me $60 for labor and I would need 2 external drives. Whatever I was there. I just went in to pick it up. They said one computer was corrupted and handed me 1 external drive. When I asked for a refund he said, "we gave you an extra large drive". The bill was $209 to copy 1 hard drive on a generic 500 GB external hard drive which I just found on Amazon for $35. read more

I brought my MacBook Pro in and found out that my hard drive had basically died. They helped me find the best option, negotiated with me and were very helpful. They were also able to get my laptop back to me the same day! The employees are all very nice, they weren't trying to sell me anything I didn't need, and were able to answer all of my questions. Great service. Heard about them from a coworker of mine who sang nothing but high praises and they did not disappoint. I have an iPhone 6 and had accidentally cracked my screen on vacation by dropping it on gravel. Decided to stop in on my weekend here at Comprite and get a quote. I was so happy I did. I am not very technologically savvy but what I do know is I love my laptop and need it to survive. One day, I decided to try to do my own maintenance on my precious laptop and I somehow managed to break a key. I've taken keys off to clean under them and had always been able to replace them, but this time I actually broke it. I had no choice but to take it in to a repair shop. Comprite is in my neighborhood, so I thought I'd check it out. I was told they now have 5 locations, so perhaps you have seen a guy standing on the street waving one of their signs. Anyways, they have a very reasonable flat fee for repairs. I also needed my cooling fan replaced, and I believe they charged me the lowest price possible. Not only am I very pleased with their work and my cost, they also completed the job extremely quickly. I brought my laptop in around 11 am and was told I could pick it up after 4 pm on the same day. I know the speed was in part because they were not too busy, but still, I appreciate the effort. I am convinced they charge a fair price for excellent service. No complaints whatsoever. All in all, I'm very pleased and will definitely return if I have any other issues with my computers. Highly recommended. read more

I too chose Comprite because they were in my neighborhood, bad choice. The staff were plenty friendly but they don't really know how to do good customer service. Every time I called I was placed on hold for at least 5 minutes or more. Normally I could handle this, but the hold music was so loud and annoying I couldn't keep the phone near my ear. When they tell you they'll call you when it's ready, they WON'T. I feel I was mislead on what services you get for the price. And I think they take advantage of novice computer owners. Brought my MacBook in to get it working again. I thought it was just the backlight that went out. It turned out to be the screen and backlight that went out. Paul helped us out and was very knowledgable and friendly! He explained exactly what he was planning on doing and explained any and all costs that may or may be involved with the repair. I got sucked into this flat "fat" rate thing. They told me (after hearing the problem) that they could get it running great again and also save the data, which is the reason i took it to someone in the first place, instead of using recovery disks to start over. then, they asked for more money (89) to do the job "Properly" and i ask if they know what flat rate means, they end up doing the same thing I could of done (wiping everything out) and for 109 $. When I went in to pick it up it was kind of ironic that there was an angry customer on the phone that i had to wait for to get done being pissed before i could. Don't fall for this flat rate thing because there just going to over promise and under deliver. Now i am "banned" from the store which was fine with me. Beware of these con-artists especially if you are a computer novice. read more

Terribly disappointed in their service. Took my laptop in to be worked on early Saturday morning, was promised it by 4 pm, that did not happen. So, next promise was by noon on Monday, sent my wife in to get it, she arrived by 1:30 pm, still not ready, next promise was... "we will deliver it by 7pm tonight" and here it is 8:20pm... and still no show. Paul called and said, maybe tomorrow. I am sending my wife in tomorrow and ....she WILL PICK IT UP (ready or not). I would much rather they had been honest with me about how long it was going to take them to get the job done, instead of making promises and then not able to keep them. Also, they wanted to be paid in advance, which is something I don't recommend. I will now have to contact my bank to have charges reversed. read more

I thought I was going to save some money when replacing my iPhone screen by going to an aftermarket shop...boy was I wrong! I paid $159 to have my screen replaced with a "factory apple" screen, which come to find out was a complete lie all together. It was a shoddy repair and my home button felt off ever since the replacement. Fast forward a week after I paid to have this done and my new screen was already broken again! This comes from someone who has owned iPhones for nearly a decade and I have literally never broken a screen prior to this. Clearly their product and practices are not quality. I was even more disappointed when I called in and they told me if it's cracked I would have to pay the price of the parts again, but "no charge on labor". Yeah. No thanks. I took my phone to apple and come to find out a REAL factory apple replacement screen would have been only $139 and they replace everything in the front including speaker, home button etc. Save the money and headache and avoid this place. read more

Great customer service me and my buddy received from them. We walked in minutes before closing with a broken iPhone screen and speaker. Due to our profession we don't have the ability to get to most stores during normal business hours. They offered to stay late for us so they could fix the iPhone both screen and speaker. We we're quoted about an hour of time, it took them way less than that. 20 minutes later my buddy was picking his phone up with a new screen and new speaker for the original price we were quoted. Let's start with some context: I am a daily blogger and a mac enthusiast. I love my mac's I have everything from an iphone to a mac pro but my knowledge of using them is very limited at best, I can basically do everything from turning it on and changing the background to writing essays and surfing the web. Well now that you know a little about me you should know a little bit about why I'm writing a review for a computer repair company. One fine morning in the middle of February, I awake to white sky and a sun hidden under the clouds. I do my regular routine shower, make coffee and cook myself up a killer batch of scrambled eggs and bacon. Coffee in my left hand, plate full of breakfast in the other I walk to my desk and sit down to set up an environment in which ideas and stories are born. So far the morning is going fantastic. I am wide awake, the ideas flowing through my brain like a great river. I lean over to start up my mac pressing the power button I sit back in my chair waiting for the white screen and the bitten apple to show up, but nothing happens. "Okay" I said to myself "Maybe I didn't press the button hard enough." Again I press the power button but this time with a great more urgency than before still no response not the sound of a fan moving or a led blinking. Nothing. Emotions began to flood my head, panic and fear that my computer and all of the documents that were being stored on it were gone. Documents that I have spent months writing and years holding on to. All gone In the blink of an eye. Scrambling down on my knees I began to furiously press the power button, I started trying new things; unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in, hitting the thing on the side slightly as if hoping that the problem would be some random dust particle. Nothing was working, teary eyed I stood up tried getting a hold of my sell "Man up!" I told myself, but it was so hard to do so. Leaving my untouched breakfast I grabbed my phone and called upon siri. "Show me the closest computer repair store!" "Yes sire" she replied ( not really). Seeing a half decent place with good reviews and at a small distance away I decided to head off on a journey. Disconnecting my computer I held it by my side and headed out the door. I arrived at the computer place shortly after, walking into the store to the smell of some kind of cheap air freshener I was greeted by a man who had maybe moved to America maybe a year or two ago and had not fully learned English. He was friendly and asked me what he could help me with, as he was speaking I noticed he was nervous and had periodically looked at my computer. I gave him the full scoop and he said he could look at it and see what is wrong with it and he would call me if anything came up. I went home, finished my breakfast and had begun to write on my other computer. A few days passed by and still no update so I decided to visit the computer shop and check for a update on what's going on. When I arrived the guy had remembered who I was a greeted my kindly, I asked him what's up and he said he is still trying to resolve the problem. A few more days and I was beginning to get irritated so for the third time I found myself coming back to the store. This time I was intent on getting my computer fixed or getting it back. I arrived and I asked the guy what the status is on my computer, he had told me that there were several problems like a bad motherboard, ram, and power adapter and that it would cost a ridiculous amount of money to fix, also he said there will be no wait to back up my data. Frustrated that so many days went by and there has been no progress what so ever, I took my computer back from the store and went home. At home I went on to the web and looked up a few more places to check out. I had seen a few good reviews for comprite and decided to check these guys out. I came in and they greeted me with a friendly manner and I told them that my computer isn't working. They took it and like the other company said that they would check It out and shoot me a call if anything comes up. Praying that history doesn't reoccur I went home. In two days I had got a call from comprite saying that they had finished my computer and that it is ready for pick up. Getting off the phone I was very confused because I hadn't even asked them to fix it or even had paid them yet, all I did was ask them to see what the problem was. I came in to the store and they greeted me with a smile and a handshake, they had told me that there was a very simple problem that a cord was unplugged inside the computer and that it was having problems because of that. They gave me the computer and insisted that I take it for free because the work to fix the computer was very minimal. I left with a huge smile on my face and very happy that my baby was finally fixed. read more
