Nate was professional, had great communication and was upfront with diagnoses, repairs and costs. Unfortunately, the hard drive was not salvageable, but Nate gave me additional options for possible retrieval. I did have them install a new SSD to replace the old disc drive. Everything worked fine with new SSD. I'd recommend Mad Genius and Nate for all Apple/Mac repairs as they are friendly, knowledgeable and specialize in Macs.

BUT they finally came out with 300mb and 1 gig services and the price for 1 gig is only 10$ more then I was paying for 100mb. Granted it is still steep as sandy 1gig is in the 50$ range but I'll take it. Now if you have had them for awhile you may need them to change your cables as you need cat5e or better Ethernet. Cords as this will allow for 100+mb if not you will be capped at 100mb even though you pay for 1gig. It goes down from Time to time (below 20mb) for a short period of time which sucks when gaming or streaming but they will help you even if you buy your own router system. I bought a Linksys velop system mx5300 wireless 6 technology (2 towers) And it works just fine just make sure you do not prioritize anything as you will be capped at 100mb as they been having problems they are working on. Though the internet lags a bit it's not often and for all the devices we have let alone how far out we live. We don't live in the town we are literally in the outskirts where there are no PGE poles so that should tell you something. They are trying to put better internet they are hopeful by this summer it can be finished but with how it is now it's not to bad at all.

First…read moreoff, we had a fire at our house earlier this year, and when our belongings came back, nothing smelled like normal dry cleaning ( fresh & clean) and we had lots of Pendleton blankets, and they just smell awful and stink kind of like puke. I can move past that, but what is really making me mad is that we got somebody else's belongings and I made a phone call to this company at least 4 times and nobody is responding back to me about getting these peoples belongings back to them to arrange pick -up! When I first called them months ago a lady clerk was very kind to me on the phone about it and offered for someone to come get them or we bring them by but time passed at that time because we've been super busy with renovations and now that we are ready to have somebody come retrieve them I call and am told they will tell a manager and will return my call and nobody gets back to me. I'm always told they'll have someone call me and they never return my calls. You couldn't pay me enough money to have this company clean anything of ours ever again! We didn't choose this company. The renovation company that has been working with us is the ones that arranged this company to clean our belongings! I haven't even started to go through the dozens and dozens of boxes that have come back to sort through and put back in my new attic but it's making me wonder if some of our heirlooms and belongings that had been salvaged and cleaned possibly went to someone else and are missing as well. He told me he had a case with only one. I said I could live with it. I realize that I had the work done several years ago, but the USED case has been a pain in the ass from the start. I was stupid in that I didn't ask him for an estimate. I'd say he was here for about 2 hours. The new "box" was much smaller and harder to reach than the old tower. Within 10 months, the motherboard was gone. Also, several programs that ran well on my old computer did not work properly after he finished transferring my data. Next problem? Because he used a box discarded by someone else (he has a storeroom full of this crap), the on/off switch stopped working. I took it to 1201 (an excellent repair shop). They fixed a couple of things which I can't recall now and called to say I could save some money if I were to use the reset button to start the computer. I did. Tonight, a power surge wiped that out. I now have a computer that won't start. Back to 1201 I go after paying this total waste of time Mad Dog Computer person $700. I have two recommendations. Don't have this place rebuild or build a computer for you. And, get a Mac, which weathered the power surge with no problem. I much prefer Macs to PCs.
