The best place to eat in Canmore. Fresh and healthy so satisfying and great iced tea blends to blow your mind!

I got the shrimp nori, pad thai, and strawberry lemonade. All main dishes were delicious, flavorful, and filling. I ate at Communitea Cafe 3 days in a row! read more

Communitea Cafe - Breakfast burrito with avocado, berry smoothie, and hemp avocodo toast on ciabatta - Gluten-Free Near Me - Canmore, Alberta

Excellent coffee, tea and breakfast! They have vegan options and their vegan breakfast burrito is amazing! Great service and great atmosphere. We will be back when we return to Canmore! Thanks for a great experience! read more

Had to wait for 15 mins for our "tea to steep" and there was no one else waiting. Service was ice cold. Really no reason to go unless you like that kind of ambiance. read more

Yum! Fresh bistro fare with a twist. Lots of vegan options and an impressive selection of loose leaf teas. Ordered the Avocado Open Faces Sandwich, which was avocado, tomatoes and hummus on a ciabatta bun: delicious! Had a side mushroom mignonette soup which was also very rich and tasty. Really enjoyed the modern, clean and bright ambiance as well! read more

If you want the best tasting latte in town, go here. I make it a point to get to Communitea whenever I am in town. I'm sure it sounds a bit odd to rave about the espresso when they are marketed as more of a tea house, but such is how it is. If you get there early enough to take advantage of their breakfast menu, you MUST have their take on the Elvis peanut butter banana sandwich - the peanut butter, honey and banana panini. It's made with organic products, and it tastes absolutely amazing. I have yet to have anything from here that I have been disappointed with. Most everything is organic food, and they have numerous gluten-free and vegan dishes. They also often have live music - the layout of the restaurant is very modular, in that everything is movable or is on wheels. I had the privilege to see a live jazz trio show here, and I was impressed with how they shifted the layout to accommodate the musicians. Acoustically, the room isn't the best (lots of hard walls meant occasional feedback issues initially), but once the sound was locked in it was a great time. Definitely will be back either during the day or for a show if I'm in the area when one is going on. Highly recommended. read more

This place has the BEST tea I've ever had. We were only visiting so I'm so has Communitea is so far away! We had a light lunch and tea there while we were in town. We ended up buying a lot of tea to bring back with us. They have a variety of teas that are awesome! read more

Ordered the chicken quesadilla and the iced blueberry green tea. The quesadilla was delicious with warm filling and soft tortilla wrapping. The line up to make the order was a little long but it didn't take us too long to get our food. The atmosphere was relax and comfortable. Will definitely return to try the rest of their menu. read more

Really good food! We found this place because of the great reviews, but it was truly better than expected. All the food was great and the toddler in our party was pleased as well. There is a small, but equipped, kids play area. Lots of delicious tea, and great bowls and sandies. read more

I have a soft spot for visits to Canmore, and Communitea is a spot I love taking my friends and family along to. The food is delicious, and caters well to vegans. I have never had a terrible pot of tea here, although I usually have to press my leaves right away to avoid bitterness. The space is a little utilitarian/IKEA looking rather than how I envision a cozy tea shop, but it's quite cute. :) read more

Stopped here for a quick breakfast last time we were in Canmore. The coffee was good, and the place was nice to hangout in, and the food was pretty good. In reality, I'd give it a 3.5, but I wouldn't hesitate to give it a 4. Worth a visit for sure, as YMMV at any place right? read more

I love this place for many reasons. First, I'm a tea lover and they do offer a wide range of teas. Second, their foods are healthy conscious and tasty - I'd eat their food every day if I could. Third, as the name suggests, the place is really a place where people gather. My husband is a coffee nerd and he has to grab their late every time we are in Canmore. They serve Intelligentsia Coffee. read more

This is my favourite stop in Canmore! The teas are out of this world and I always end up buying a few different kinds of loose leaf tea to take home with me. The food is also unbelievable. It's all fresh and hand made. The menu changes regularly which makes me feel like they really put an effort into what they are serving. My only complaint is the hours! They are never open late enough! read more

Tried this awesome coffee place on the way to jasper. A typical coffee shop kinda ambience. Food wise, their avocado chicken quesadilla is a must try! Melts in the mouth! We also tried the chicken burger which was good too. For beverages, maple latte and earl grey latte are good. read more

my sister and i came down here for lunch. we had to wait THIRTY MINUTES for our pad thai. maybe i was just hungry but that seems like a long time for a basic dish. i also asked for no green onions but they still have me green onion. i get that it was an honest mistake but it is still annoying. all of this is a shame because the pad thai is amazing, but the slow service really ruined it for me. i just found a strand of blonde hair in my dish. disgusting. also some of my noodles were undercooked. read more

I found this place through a blog. It takes a bit long to get your food, especially during their busier hours, but the portions are big and tasty! For what you pay, you definitely get a lot out of it. It was a great place for food after all the hiking we've been doing. Since we're road tripping it was nice to have healthier options available to us! read more

Had lattes there this afternoon. They were yummy, but the maple latte wasn't extraordinary, like in previous posts. We were there between lunch and supper, so didn't have a meal but the menu looked yummy. Love the name! read more

I remember coming to this place and it is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in Canmore!

There was not one, not two, but THREE hairs. My sister and I visited Communitea Cafe on Monday, March 25, 2019. I am a vegan, and she is not, and this cafe looked like an awesome place to grab a breakfast we would both love. Things went wrong beginning with our order. The girl who took our order (no nametag, otherwise I would state it) was very softspoken and did not hear our order right. I ordered the vegan breakfast bowl, my sister ordered egg, ham, and cheese panini. (My sister had to repeat her order twice because the girl couldn't get it.) I also got the vegan zucchini and chocolate muffin to go. We both ordered London Fogs to drink. Our London Fogs came out first, delivered by a guy in a plaid shirt. They got our drink orders right and they were good, although not as flavourful as others we have had. My sister's food order came out first. The presentation was really good and she was excited to dig in. She waited for my order to come, but when they brought it out, it was the burrito instead of the bowl. I apologized for the mix-up, thinking maybe I hadn't spoken clearly enough or something, and the girl (same one who took our order) returned it to the kitchen and came back twice to confirm what I had originally wanted. I hate sending back orders and felt guilty. I must've said sorry three times, but there was never an apology from them. Whatever, I let it go, otherwise things seemed to have been going fine. It only took a about five or so minutes before my bowl came. It also had a really nice presentation. I dug in eagerly, hungry now and excited to try it. At this time, my sister also started to have her panini. She took three or four bites before pulling a long, dark hair out of the sandwich. We both cringed in disgust. She opened the other half of her sandwich and looked inside, and found another two hairs (shorter than the first). We were shocked and totally grossed out. I suggested we return it to the kitchen, but by that point my sister had completely lost her appetite, and we had already made a fuss over returning my wrap for the bowl. And needless to say we already felt like the cafe staff hated us. I forked through my bowl and thankfully it was hair-free (something I never thought I would have to verify in the middle of eating my Monday breakfast but here I am...). Overall, my vegan bowl was really tasty. (And so was the zucchini chocolate muffin I ate the next day for snack). BUT my sister's food had three hairs in it. GROSS. In the end, we decided it best to notify the staff when we went to leave about the hairs in the food. The same girl that both took our order and served our meals returned to clear our plates. We told her very simply that there were three hairs in her food. My sister said she didn't want them to make her another one, because she had lost her appetite, but that she wanted to let them know. The server simply nodded her head and said "okay," agreeably. There was no apology, no attempt to make it right. (By the way, we spent $39 on breakfast, and $12 of it was inedible.) At this time, we hadn't yet finished our teas so we awkwardly and quietly drank the last few sips. We stayed for at least another 5 minutes after she cleared our table, and yet there was no further acknowledgement from the staff or attempt to remedy this unacceptable experience. How about an apology? An offer to refund? Anything to acknowledge how disgusting it is that there were three hairs in my sister's breakfast! Eww! read more

One of the most popular places to eat in Canmore, and it is easy to see why. Great, healthy food. The lunch menu starts at 11:30, and not a minute earlier. Great for foodies, vegetarians (though meats are available), GF eaters & more. read more

This is my favorite place to go in Canmore when I'm craving something fresh, healthy and tasty. Their pacific avocado toast is delicious and very generous with the amount of smoked salmon on the toast. I also love to order their nori wrap coupled with their ginger soy dipping sauce. It's a great way to get your veggies in when you don't want a full salad. Pricing is reasonable for the quality and quantity that you get. Atmosphere is comfortable, clean and kid friendly. This is a truly special place. So much care taken and attention to detail in every aspect. Plenty of organic, gluten free, veg & vegan options. Everything was so good, and the service was amazing. Friendly staff, beautifully designed interior, healthy amazing food. Mountain views... My favorite cafe ever... Serious! With the caveat - the tea was scalding hot, tasted like swamp water, and was twice as expensive as I had expected. That said, I think it's "real" tea, not the garbage you get at the grocery store, and so that's likely the reason for the inflated cost. If you are a tea snob, you'll probably think you died and went to Communitea Cafe. Overall? Awesome. read more

Excellent spot for fresh healthy food. Had the vegan breakfast bowl-delicious. Will stop here again when visiting Canmore.

Came here for breakfast, and I ordered the breakfast wrap, and it was delicious--I didn't realize how roasted yam pairs so well with black bean and eggs.
