Aesthetically, this place is nice (restroom needs TLC). It has that hipster, calm decor with nicely curated potted indoor plants and trinkets on display for purchase. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I needed some jolt of energy. So I ordered cafe mocha, which worked well for me because I like chocolate. The flavor was sufficient. For food, I ordered their harvest bowl. I wasn't expecting an out of this world experience with the food, but for the price ($16) I was at least hoping for something filling and nourishing. It was definitely healthy (cut up sausage, air fried mushrooms and potato, 2-3 pieces of broccolini, sliced 1/4 of a whole avocado, 1 boiled egg and minimally drizzled with some type of aioli sauce). The problem was that it was mediocrely flavored and cooked. Not to mention that it was a small portion for the price. I can't speak for all of their food or drinks on the menu. I honestly wouldn't go back to this place. read more

Their coffee and atmosphere are great, but I absolutely love their floral arrangements. I have bought dozens and never been disappointed by their appearance or longevity. For my most recent purchase this weekend they went above and beyond. I stopped in on Thursday afternoon to request 5 arrangements for a surprise engagement party Saturday (4 small, 1 large). We talked about color palette and looked at available blooms. I asked about some that were in the refrigerator, but was told they aren't part of their usual offerings because of their higher cost. Much to my surprise, when I picked up the arrangements on Saturday, the special blooms I had asked about had been incorporated into the large one. It was stunning and they were all perfect for my daughter. She even showed me some inspiration photos from Instagram of what she wants for the wedding that coincidentally look very much like what we had. I received props for knowing my daughter so well. I knew I couldn't go wrong with Communal. Thank you so much Alyssa. read more

Excellent friendly staff. I just wish I had one of their homemade pastries. Food was great

Super cute coffee shop with great tasting coffee and breakfast items. Service was fast and friendly! I will definitely be going back!

Beautiful ambience, tasty food and friendly service. I also love that they are open pretty late.

Just paid $6 for a "Vanilla Bean" latte. Milk is burnt, coffee is flavorless and ZERO vanilla flavor at all. The space is lovely.

The space was great! Atmosphere was good! They messed up my food order a little bit so I have to wait a little longer but quickly apologize and offered to make a new fresh order and refunded me. All the staff were nice and helpful. Tahini Avocado toast was a little bit too salty for me. read more

Love love love Communal. I had been to their location in South Park but just recently visited the location in Oceanside and it was absolutely adorable. The food was so good and their drinks are amazing. This location is very open and has lots of seating, but does get busy on the weekends. They have lots of cute things for sale inside the store, which are always super tempting :) I tell everyone about Communal! read more

Very chill vibe. Love the zen feeling here. The food is delicious and I love their mocha lattes.

Couple times we went , and same blah service we got. Did not even acknowledge your presence as a customer.

Sunday night (Sept. 18) I went in and was helped by Andrew. Excellent customer service! Super knowledgeable, and kind. I've been coming here for a while, coffee is great, good work environment, highly recommend if you are in the Oceanside area. read more

We will be coming here every day of our trip. Amazing drinks and the food is delicious & fresh. We are from San Francisco - high standards.

I frequent this place often and more times than not they are missing their one plant based option. why have a menu item if you're just going to run out of it every day. read more

Such a cute hidden gem. We went on a Sunday for brunch. Food was quite tasty. We got the communal pizza, delicious. Crust had amazing flavor, the veggie bowl with a soft boiled egg, good but some bread with it would have been nice, not quite filling. And the French Toast, which was good but came with a sweet cream spread on it so not really to our taste. Bread was not as eggy as we prefer for our French toast either. Drinks were delicious. We got the iced chai and the oatmilk sesame latte. Delicious. And they have bottled juice for kids. Setting is open seating with lots of people hanging out on their computers. Just a little chilly and windy inside the day we were there, could have closed a door and it would be better. We found out there is seating behind the fish and bottle place that is for the whole building. Would have been nice to know about that. Also an adorable shop is part of the cafe, where I even putchased a cute book. Definitely heading back to try the other nearby places and get another latte. read more

Hipster coffee shop featuring a shared patio with adjacent restaurants. Cool place to hang out with friends and family.

great service and beautiful ambiance here !! came in to check it out after some friends recommended their coffee. daniel (one of the baristas) had accidentally knocked into me and although I wasn't bothered by it at all, he went above and beyond and comped my food! shoutout to daniel, will definitely be coming back :) read more

This is a cute place, very popular with the 20-something crowd. My turkey pesto sandwich was good, as was the matcha oat latte. However, if you are looking for enough protein to hold you over until dinner, this is not the place for you. The English muffin-sized sandwich was supposed to come with a soft boiled egg which endeared me to order it, because I love a soft boiled egg. Unfortunately, the egg yolk was hard boiled. There was the thinnest slice of turkey, making it pretty insulting to call it a "turkey sandwich". I'm now going down the road for some fish tacos as I'm leaving here carb-loaded with two English muffins and one hard boiled egg in my stomach. Some things that bothered me; there are still no menus, so they tell you to bring a smart phone if you want to see the menu online, or try squinting to see the small font menu board directly above the cash register. They don't take cash. They bring your food out with 1 tiny, thin cocktail napkin and no silverware. I am sure they will say, all you have to do is get up and go ask someone for these items, but I couldn't leave my baby in the stroller for such things. I ended up leaving the bits of sandwich on the plate that fell out while eating since I had no silverware, and licking my fingers since the tiny, thin napkin was not enough. I know they are trying to save money, but at a place with these prices I expect an actual napkin and silverware (and a paper menu please), to be delivered with the meal. If not, train your cashier to say, "please grab napkins and silverware yourself before securing your table." read more

came in with my mom this morning for a pick me up coffee and breakfast sandwich and it did not disappoint. i got the maple sausage sandwich and it was absolutely incredible. the man who brought the sandwich, caden, was so kind and he needs a raise with how good that sandwich was. i could eat one every single day because of him! read more

I had the most incredible experience working with Communal's floral department for my wedding day! After reaching out, I was connected with Tatum who is the Floral Lead at the Oceanside location and I cannot gush about her enough! Tatum was an absolute dream to work with - extremely kind, understanding, encouraging, and overall just wonderful communication from start to finish throughout the entire wedding planning process. I was a very anxious bride and she was so comforting every step of the way! I really wanted a specific flower included in our arrangements (calla lilies) and she explained that they would do the best they could to include these for me, and they delivered 100%! (Even though I totally understand that some of this is totally out of their control due to the season and which flowers are up to their standards, etc. but it meant so much to me that they made my dream flower happen!) I also sent some inspiration pictures and Tatum really understood my vision, and she helped me with suggestions to achieve the look that I wanted (I wanted a small piece of greenery on each plate and she made a suggestion for eucalyptus, and it turned out even better than my inspo pic!) I was very stressed about coordinating the pick-up timing as my father was picking up the florals, and she was so accommodating and offered multiple options to make things work. She also answered all of my anxiety-ridden questions (Can flowers last okay in air conditioning in a hotel room? lol) with so much kindness and never made me feel annoying! We ordered my bridal bouquet, groom's boutonniere, twelve bud vases, two larger floral arrangements, and individual greenery for each plate and I was in love with every single thing that we received! The mixture of florals and greenery was exactly what I was hoping for and I wouldn't have changed a thing! And this was so sweet - the boutonniere with the calla lily had a thick stem, so Tatum even threw in an additional boutonniere for free in case I didn't like that one, and so then my dad ended up having one to wear! Working with Tatum was seriously such a dream and I couldn't feel luckier. I couldn't recommend Tatum and the Communal floral team more highly! Thank you, thank you, thank you! :) read more

Honestly, I got too excited to eat to take a picture of my bagel. I got the eggplant veggie bagel and it was sooooo good! It's just a cute little cafe with a fun boho aesthetic. Natural lighting, plants, cute decor, I'd totally come back if I'm in the area again :) read more

THE breakfast spot in north county. I've tried them all but the ambiance and happy service and AMAZING food kill it here! cute atmosphere, good food but insanely long wait time for food. we waited almost an hour on a Saturday am at 1030.

Coffee is great. Ordered a bagel with cream cheese came over toasted dry and no cream cheese. Since I'm in a hurry to get to a family member who is ill I do not have time to get another. read more

Very inviting space where the staff just go that one extra step to make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is pleasant, somewhere you could spend hours. Highly recommend the mint cold brew, although I had their salted caramel latte recently and it was the best I've had (really get that perfect amount of salt to sweet) read more

Items on the menu are hit or miss for drinks and for some food items but I do like the salmon bagel & the turkey pesto sandwich, menu is wrong they stop serving breakfast @ 3 I think (even tho it explicitly says breakfast is served all day). Absolutely beautiful location from the decor to the plants in the shop to all the fresh flowers very peaceful vibe. We got two chai lattes which were delicious and not overly sweet, the sweet potato hash with wild mushrooms Brussels sprouts and a perfect soft boiled egg, the sausage sandwich was incredible we were a bit worried the maple would overpower everything else but it's so subtle and not overly sweet and the Irish cheddar really gave it the perfect balance, and the chocolate croissant was flakey and light. We will definitely be back. read more

great vibe, delicious coffee, broad menu throughout the day. love this place, especially for coffee and breakfast. the line to order can be long on the weekends, but there's always plenty of indoor/outdoor seating once you place your order. coffee and food is slow to come out, so don't go if you are in a rush. lots of vegetarian and vegan options and they change their menu seasonally, which is great - my only gripe is that the only way to view the teeny tiny light font on the posted menu is when you get up to the counter (which probably causes some of the long, slow ordering line) or by scanning a QR code that takes you through an unnecessarily complicated and adobe account/sign in required process to view it. read more

Loved their aesthetic, but that is about it. My cappuccino was served in a glass which allowed all of the heat to escape almost immediately. I tried to order an apple juice for my daughter but they were out. We also ordered the mint cold brew which I would not recommend. They forgot my bagel and after going to the counter and asking for it, someone brought it to me cold. There are so many great coffee shops in the area, I will stick with Revo or Lofty. read more

I love everything about this place! Easily my go to for studying, work, or just grabbing coffee with a friend!
