There's a lot going on here. Common Grounds is tucked off the main road down a little alley, but the signage is there to make it easy to find. When you enter, it's not exactly straightforward. The place looks like hippies became mild hoarders and I don't think I'm far off. There are books and games and eclectic seating throughout. It is larger than it first appears and it is full of books and... Stuff. I don't know if any of it's for sale or if it is just there to be perused. The bar is straight ahead and the menu is broad enough to please but not overwhelming. There are some pastries and scones ready to go. The coffee is very good! Service is extremely friendly and an excellent representation of what to expect in Nashville. Top notch!

Got 2 smoothies from Common Grounds on a warm day while walking through Nashville! These were SO good. They were so creamy and sweet. They were made with frozen yogurt which was delicious! The space almost seemed like an antique shop so it was different than normal. Their menu was pretty big for being a coffee shop so I definitely think anyone could find something here that they would enjoy!

This is an amazing place in Downtown Nashville. We stopped here twice during our camping weekend. There were locals there both times sitting and talking, which made it seem very homey. You could stay here for hours and not see everything that is in this coffee shop/thrift store. The first day I had a lavender latte and the second I got the chocolate cherry latte. Usually when I get things from coffee shops that have chocolate syrup and multiple syrups, they are very very sweet and hard to drink. The chocolate cherry latte came with dark chocolate syrup, almond syrup, and cherry syrup and it was *perfectly* sweetened. Not too sweet, but still had great flavor. The employees were very kind both times, answering our questions about the town and making sure our experience was great. They had food options but we did not order food either time because we were just there for coffee. There was plenty of seating inside, plenty of things to look at while you wait for your drinks, and it is in a nice little side street that isn't too busy. Definitely stop in here while in Nashville to enjoy a nice cup of coffee!

Cool eclectic coffee shop and whatever store. Lot of books and other items to browse through. Good coffee and good prices. Go say hi to Ira.

Coffee is delicious and the ladies working were the sweetest! Highly recommend the Snickerdoodle!

If you like your coffee houses a little off the beaten path, then this place is for you. Although it has a Van Buren Street address, the entrance is actually in the alley that is next to the Big Woods Pizza place. After finding street parking on the neighboring block to the west, I wandered over here and entered the eclectic shop. As you enter the order counter is straight ahead and to the right. There are multiple rooms with a variety of items including books, board games, wall murals, baskets and vases. I don't think they are for sale, just decor. I ordered my standard black drip coffee and a tasty looking banana nut muffin. The coffee was good and immediately drinkable! (My one absolute requirement from a coffee shop is to serve it at a proper temperature.) The muffin was wrapped to maintain freshness and it was surprisingly moist and yummy. Just enough banana and nuts to stand up to the coffee. The service at the counter was friendly and when I was finished, I asked where to put my dishes and she directed me to bring it back to the counter. This isn't a high tech place to do your computer work (at least nobody seemed to be doing that here.) But it is a quiet and inviting place with a lot to keep you occupied if you wish to. Seating was mostly at tables, not at solo stations. Review #2772

The staff was extremely knowledgeable about their products and helped with any questions that we had. The owner was super friendly and also said she just opened a gift shop down the street and also lives in town. Her brother and one of her employees helped us the day prior and they live in town as well. They also have a coffee or tea to sample on a table in the seating area. There are a few tables to sit at and a couch and chairs in the seating area. They were 7 of us so we enjoyed many items on the menu. The highlights were vanilla chai latte (my fave), the peach tea, and the s'mores latte. There are plenty of items in the shop for purchase related to tea and coffee and you can browse for quite a while. I highly recommend this shop and the delightful owner and I will certainly stop in again.

We arrived on the main thoroughfare in Nashville on a Monday morning around 10:30 am in October - the high season in this leaf peeping area. Having stayed at an inn just down the road, we wanted to get a hot tea to warm up before our day off walking around town. We are so glad to have found Sweetea's! We got a great parking spot in the small lot and went right in. The shop is cozy and filled with teas, tea related gifts, and some other fun Brown County & Indiana knickknacks. I tried their cherry almond tea latte with oat milk and my mom had a maple tea. We both loved our selections. Exactly what we needed to warm up before a brisk shopping adventure. There's some family style seating at two round tables up front and a couch and chairs in the back. By the time we left people were starting to file in as the shops all opened up for the day. We were able to started parked in the lot while at the visitors center and the shops in the surrounding square which was very handy. Loved this place, will definitely be back next time we visit Brown Co!

It turned out, they had to make my iced tea special, because they weren't allowed to use the tap water because of some boil order that was established in the area. OK! I wish I wanted some baked goods while I was here, because this place has all of the homemade-looking baked goods. Peanut butter cookies in a Tupperware container, bread pudding covered in plastic wrap, apple pie in a metal pie dish. All of the baked goods look like they were made by someone's grandma. And they looked like they were labeled by someone's grandpa, carefully, in grandpa handwriting.
