People were friendly, food was good, coffee was unique, and the space is huge. It has a nice outdoor patio as well and some cute items to purchase that looked like they were secondhand. I had the sweet potato curry and basil mocha and both were really tasty although I wish the curry had something in it besides just puréed sweet potato.

While on a little weekend getaway with my better half while visiting family, her daughter suggested Hopscotch Coffee as a breakfast stop. Wow! What a great little spot. Perfectly Bloomington - charming, friendly, spacious and relaxing. A smallish but nicely varied menu offers something for everyone. I opted for the Hop Bacon, Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwich which featured a tasty blend of Provolone Cheese, avocado, tomato, arugula, and aioli with a really tasty little side bowl of salad. Delicious. The coffee bar in the adjacent room is spacious and you'll find any variety of coffees and teas available. My Americano was just right and something I will order again any time I am here. My girl ordered a chai tea latte which also came out perfectly with a nice foamy design on top. There is plenty of seating both inside and on the nice patio / porch that offers a really relaxing space to hang out, enjoy your coffee and a good book. This could easily be a regular spot for me and I know I will spend more time here. Service is great. Everyone is friendly and helpful with suggestions. Hopscotch Coffee needs to be on you list of morning spots for your coffee and noshing fix ( or any time of day, really ). Highly recommended!

My sister lives in Bloomington and that allows me to try many new places. This is one of her favorite coffee shops and I enjoyed the chai tea latte I ordered.

This is my coffee enthusiast friend's favourite coffee shop in town and he took me here for a quick coffee stop. On the right is the coffee bar and food is served out of the kitchen on the left - we only got drinks so this is solely a review of the coffee shop side. It's a cute, comfortable place with lots of seating options inside and out (couches and tables inside. It was a sunny day so we sat at the high-top counter on the patio and it was really nice. My decaf iced americano was good! The flavour was really smooth and drinkable but still full-bodied. I don't drink regular coffee except when I really need a boost but I can appreciate that they have two coffees on offer (which rotate) plus a decaf, and they looked like interesting blends. The baristas were nice and seemed knowledgeable.

Super cute patio, lots of space to meet with people. There is a cafe as well that seemed to have great lunch options! I originally ordered a lavender oat matcha (which is very standard for me, that's usually my baseline for judging a coffee shop) and was shocked to not like it. Lavender doesn't usually taste soapy to me, but this one did. The baristas were SO kind and made me a new matcha, on the house, with vanilla. Was absolutely delicious. We also ordered a cardamom maple oat latte which was fantastic. Will definitely return!

    16 oz lavender latte

Ordered a 16 oz lavender latte with regular milk. Went around 11 am and it was pretty busy, not many places to sit. The lavender syrup is very good and not overly sweet, can definitely get the taste of espresso. I would order 1/2 sweet if you aren't big on syrups, but I do think they charge extra for that maybe because it's a modification (I'm not sure, but I was charged last time when I asked for 1/2 sweet). Definitely check it out and if you're wanting to get some work done, I recommend going earlier in the day when it's not too busy.

My maple chai latte was delicious. Hopscotch prepares their drinks very well; I've always been pleased with my orders. Seating can be sparse in Hopscotch, and if you are lucky enough to get a table you soon realize that you are just too close to other customers. It can take away from the cozy feel of other coffee shops. Their conversations become yours and vice versa. Just a little too loud which is surprising considering the ample space they have to work with. Pricing can also be a bit of an issue here. After a small tip I spent around $12 for two small drinks. They are very good, but the cost to portion is a little rough.

Decent coffee and vegan food options. My visit here was influenced by two things: 1) our Airbnb included a coupon for a free coffee drink for each of us, redeemable at this nearby coffee shop. 2) the friend I was visiting town with is vegan and was excited to see what breakfast goods they had that fit in to her diet choices. So in the morning, we walked over from our Airbnb and grabbed ourselves a breakfast of each of our choices. This is a cute little neighborhood and Hopscotch certainly fits right in/a coffee shop was a must for this area. I can't speak to parking options, as we walked there. I opted for a specialty latte and a donut to start my day. The coffee was decent and the breakfast pastry hit the spot, just the right amount of sweetness. It is a bit bigger on the inside than I expected it to be. But we opted to grab a seat at a table outside on the wrap around porch. Great for people watching along the B-Line Trail.

They have a serious fly problem. Get used to flies being around specially if you order food. Otherwise this place is great.

Nice place. Clean and friendly staff. Hade the Korean bowel and it was quite tasty. Had a mocha for a beverage and it too was perfect.

Coffee Beanery - Blueberry cheesecake muffin, iced matcha latte w/ lavender cold foam

They were…read moreplaying music the first time but the second time there was no music and it was pretty much silent since there were few customers. First visit: I got a matcha latte and caramel apple muffin the first time. The matcha latte was pretty weak. It comes with vanilla syrup by default and I guess I can see why, but I asked for mine with no syrup and I'm still glad I did because I don't know if I would have been able to taste the matcha at all if there was any flavoring. The apple muffin looked good (all the muffins in the display actually looked really good) but tasted kind of freezer burnt. I wanted to give them another chance and the second visit was better. Got a blueberry cheesecake muffin and an iced matcha with lavender cold foam. It may have been unwise to get matcha again but I just didn't have an appetite for anything else, and the drink was actually pretty good this time. It seemed like it was made a little stronger and the lavender cold foam was VERY good. The muffin was alright. A little generic but not freezer-burnt. It was called blueberry cheesecake, but there was no cream cheese. Maybe it was infused into the muffin because I thought I could taste the cheesecake flavor, but that could very well have been placebo effect. I might give them a few more tries because again, some of the muffins did LOOK very good, and I was compelled by the cold foam matcha. I kind of like the quietness. It's probably better for flavored drinks since it looks like that's what the most effort has gone into on the menu - they have lots of syrups and posters up everywhere for the specialty drinks (the images look AI-generated though, which is uninspiring). Nice if you just want somewhere quiet.

The coffee I ordered had decent flavor, though it wasn't as strong or as bold as I was hoping for. The service was a bit slow, even though it wasn't very busy at the time. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. It's a decent spot for a quick drink, but there's room for improvement in both speed and consistency!! I'd stop by again if I'm in the area, but it's not a place I'd go out of my way for!!

I visited twice for a breakfast and a lunch. Lunch: I had a Black Russian sandwich and a pot of Emperor's Pride tea. The sandwich, which is a vegetarian version of a Reuben with roasted veggies instead of meat, was delicious. They really piled on the veggies. Some fell out of the sandwich, but I just ate them with the home fries. The home fries also were nicely seasoned. The tea was a little off. It's possible it was the tea itself that didn't taste how I expected, but it kind of tasted like I was getting the flavour of a different tea in the pot. Breakfast: Apple pancake and bouquet latte (seasonal special - lavender Ceylon tea latte with honey and rose syrup). The bouquet latte was wonderful and had this beautiful red swirl latte art. The pancake was nice and fluffy. One pancake is something like $5, but one is enough for a complete meal, maybe with a protein side if you're especially hungry. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. The food didn't take very long even though they seemed busy.

Son decided he wanted to go as he was craving breakfast for dinner, so off we went. Again, as always, was impressed and enjoy the quirky nature of the Spoon. RS is in an old house just off Kirkwood. A bunch of smaller rooms, plus a large outdoor dining patio out front. We got lucky with parking on the street pretty close to the restaurant (no real parking lot) and I would have preferred to eat outside but daughter got to the hostess first and we ended up indoors. Everyone ended up with breakfast choices. Wife had an omelette, said it was great. I had banana+granola pancakes (two) which was plenty. The flavor was great. Also eggs and toast. Son had the Kevin which is basically what I ordered but with French Toast. Daughter had a chocolate chip pancake which she enjoyed. Overall, great food and very reasonable. Service was on point and again the atmosphere is fun and quirky. Need to add to our regular rotation.
