English muffin sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese
    Abigail Q.

On their menu, you can order different variations of the sandwich: we got the croissant sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese and another sandwich with the sausage as well as the English muffin sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. These were filling and we got 3 healthy strips of bacon! The Chocolate croissant is flaky and soft. We tried the London fog hot tea, snickerdoodle latte, and hot chocolate. All were very flavorful and delicious. Service was great, they brought out our drinks to us while we were sitting outside. The ambiance both inside and outside is beautiful and clean.

Verona Coffee House is where European elegance meets Bloomington charm. From the coffee and creamy lattes to fresh-baked pastries and savory breakfast bites, this family-owned, locally sourced gem has it all. Working on my MBA from here, surrounded by students studying--makes me feel young again Come for the caffeine, stay for the cozy vibes & community!

    Maple Pancake Sausage Sandwich

My partner and I have a seasonal bucket list. For fall, we wanted to try a new coffee shop ! I had heard so many positive reviews about Verona - and it definitely lived up to them. I got a salted caramel mocha from their seasonal menu. It was so light and creamy. It was definitely unlike any other coffee I've had in town. The sandwich was fun ! It was literally two pancakes with sausage and egg in between. It was so good ! The maple flavor came through super strong. The coffee shop was so cute and elegant. The staff was super friendly. And there was an outdoor fireplace ! That was so cozy to sit and chat at. I definitely recommend trying them out. It's a bit pricey, but totally worth it !

First time at this Crumble Coffee, but I love the other two. Same good experience here…read more I got a tomato red pepper danish, a piece of blueberry almond cake, and a summer garden tea (seasonal green tea with fruit syrup) The danish was actually my second choice after I found out they were out of the galette I wanted, but I actually liked the danish a lot and was glad it was what I ended up with. The pastry was great, with nice layers but not overly flaky for my taste like a lot of danishes; it had a nice tenderness to it. The filling was delicious, like a cheesy roasted red pepper dip baked into a danish. The cake was also great, not too sweet and very aesthetically pleasing too. The tea was really nice, with the fruit flavors balanced with the green tea. The shop is very cute and felt welcoming. There's a lot of outdoor seating. They have some local art prints for sale and there's even a printer for customer use. The baristas were friendly.

I ordered the cookie with the apples and crumbles on it. I assume the apple strudel cookie. It's very good. I also ordered milk. The lady didn't told me that they didn't have milk, but then a display showed that they did have milk so she had to go look for it and finally found it. It's really a unusual Customerservice experience as the employees aren't that friendly and don't seem very hospitable and welcoming.

I have only tried the espresso drinks before, but my friends have raved about the juices and smoothies, too. I usually go for the Razz-Matazz iced latte (raspberry and dark chocolate), but this time, I decided to branch out and try one of the seasonal specials, the Frosted Animal Cookie Latte. The presentation reminded me of the viral "dot cakes" with the vibrant pink cold foam and nonpareil sprinkles. It's definitely on the sweeter side, but I love sweet, so it was perfect for me! I am also impressed with how friendly the staff is. They are always polite and efficient, and they are always diligent about watching out for allergies. I appreciate that they have a list of common allergens that are used in their drinks at the register. Soma really has something for everyone, so it's the perfect coffee shop for groups!

Have not tried their food but their coffee is consistent. Service is always quick and accurate. They let us use our own travel mugs as well. Seems like this would be a great spot to hang out and work if you were a college student or artist.

Even with all the space they look pretty busy whenever I pass by, but that's only been on weekends, so it may be quieter during the week. On a weekend afternoon, though, you will not find quiet here. They have all the standard drinks you expect at a coffee shop and lots of fun specials, but the food selection is a little limited. I think they normally serve soup Mon-Sat but they were out when I got there. I got a bagel with schmear, a zebra (chocolate crinkle) cookie, and one of the February specials called "Opposites Attract" which was a raspberry chai latte. Everything I got was pretty good, especially the fresh, chewy zebra cookie. They warmed it up which made it just a little gooey. The raspberry chai was an interesting combination. i wasn't completely sold on the raspberry - I didn't dislike it but probably wouldn't get it again - but I think I liked the chai itself. The baristas and bookstore staff were all welcoming, and the vibe is very inclusive. I've come in and looked around the store a few times, and the staff seems approachable if you need anything but will leave you alone if you're just browsing.

The baristas are always friendly. The place is spacious with a good amount of seating, but it can sometimes be hard to find a good seat inside because, as you would expect, students come to study/work and stay for a long time. I love their baked goods - they have interesting and unique offerings and everything tastes wholesome. Besides their Soma-made bakes (muffins, loaves, scones, dessert bars, cookies, and more), the bagels (I think from Gables) and Piccolo Dolci pastries are great, but they have these two muffins that are from a different supplier that I didn't think were of very good quality - I recommend avoiding the chocolate cheesecake muffin and banana nut muffin. I think the veggie/cheese sandwich is decent. It's just deli cheese slices with lettuce, cucumber, pesto, and mayo, but the bread is good and if you want something simple it's surprisingly satisfying. The coffee is pretty good. I am a decaf drinker so I appreciate that they have both decaf coffee and decaf espresso. They have a really good loose leaf tea selection and the teas are legit. Between the variety and quality it's the best tea selection I've found at a coffee shop in Bloomington. The quality of the chai and matcha are less impressive. I feel like there's a slight artificial flavour to the matcha, but to be fair, I've only tried it with flavour added, so maybe it's better unsweetened. When I asked for half sweet, that was better than regular sweetness. Both are still better than Starbucks. But I'd definitely recommend the loose leaf tea lattes over the chai/matcha. As mentioned in my previous review, some things are self-serve. It turns out they do have glasses and mugs available if you ask, but if you don't ask for dine-in, the default is disposable cups. Brewed coffee is self-serve, with your choice of (usually) two regular roasts and one decaf. If you want a toasted bagel, you have to slice and toast it yourself in the toaster on the condiment table. It seems like you sort of have to know what to order here, but as I'm learning what's good, I really appreciate the offerings that are good, the comfortable unpretentious environment, and long hours at Soma.
