Good morning! Cortado with lovely coffee art.
    Bruce K.

Open when I wanted coffee and hooray, they're not the Green Siren people! I was here for about two hours to get my day started and enjoy my "first coffee" of the day, which turned out to be a cortado served perfectly in a short glass. Not just great coffee, but my barista made a latte art bear. Adorable and I didn't want to drink him, but drink him I did. Comfortable space, great for working, super easy hang out. Egg and cheese burrito

The Razz Ma Tazz latte was incredible, but the egg and cheese burrito was the worst breakfast I've ordered in a long time. It was nearly $7 for a lump of egg and the tortilla melted into the foil and half of it ripped off. I didn't even eat it and in this economy, nobody can afford to spend money on bad food. Very disappointed they would even consider something like this on the menu. My fiancé had the egg and cheese bagel and didn't enjoy it either. Go for the coffee and skip the food.

First time here and it was pretty neat spot. I got the "Lethal Weapon" smoothie which is a green smoothie. Really good. Allot of fruit flavors in the smoothie. Expensive, and definitely filling.

I come here pretty regularly, usually just for coffee, but sometimes I get a breakfast burrito as well. They make a good cappuccino. There are about six tables inside set up as booths, and then about 10 tables outside, mostly with some sort of protection from the sun or the rain. In the winter they usually put out some space heaters. It's right at an intersection with quite a bit of free parking within a minute or two of walking. Attractive new brick buildings on three corners and an elementary school on the other. Mature trees. Lovely place to read and write outside.

Brilliant selection of FRESH and delicious pastries.

Fantastic atmosphere. They had me at Björk, Aurora and beautiful indie music. The coffee is delicious and isn't over roasted. The natural lighting is the star of the cafe. My new favorite coffee shop, I got so much work done! The staff radiate kindness and passion. Thank you Soma team, cheers!

Smoothies, coffee drinks, casual location to meet someone. They have some great smoothies, and a very nice case with fresh pastries to enjoy. They also sell their coffee to take home.

Great place to have coffe outside. Lots of tables

Best coffee shop for outside seating. Especially during Covid. Lots of seats. Best coffee is the Blackbeard blend. And the almond scones. It's actually better than brown county coffee

Very little seating so if you want a cup of coffee and pastry there has been no place to sit. We have yet to stay and order anything.

Same good experience here…read more I got a tomato red pepper danish, a piece of blueberry almond cake, and a summer garden tea (seasonal green tea with fruit syrup) The danish was actually my second choice after I found out they were out of the galette I wanted, but I actually liked the danish a lot and was glad it was what I ended up with. The pastry was great, with nice layers but not overly flaky for my taste like a lot of danishes; it had a nice tenderness to it. The filling was delicious, like a cheesy roasted red pepper dip baked into a danish. The cake was also great, not too sweet and very aesthetically pleasing too. The tea was really nice, with the fruit flavors balanced with the green tea. The shop is very cute and felt welcoming. There's a lot of outdoor seating. They have some local art prints for sale and there's even a printer for customer use. The baristas were friendly.

It's really a unusual Customerservice experience as the employees aren't that friendly and don't seem very hospitable and welcoming.

Verona has a list of coffee and tea beverage options that seems to never end. We really enjoyed a great cappuccino and matcha drinks. It's easy to get lost in translation as they have a drink favored by staff member Gracie which should not be confused with a Grace Latte. Execution does not necessarily match their web site - ask for more puree if you want. Sometimes they have something in stock but can't sell it because the manager did not put it in the system. The staff tries but does not seem to think outside the box yet. Great potential!

They close at a HARD 3:00 on Saturday and Sundays. NOT 5:00. I have a broken leg, and after hobbling down the stairs, I limped through the front door with my boot on at 3:02 and was quickly told that they are no longer serving anyone. Which, totally get you need a hard end time, but I will say, the shop was still packed full with people and every table was still filled. I don't know. Maybe I'm just annoyed I put in the effort with a broken leg to support a local place and they didn't update their hours. Maybe I'm overreacting. But....this area of Indiana seems to have a ton of coffee options. So I probably would check out the "campus" ones a little closer to town next time or call this one before to see what they decide to make their hours for the day.

Even with all the space they look pretty busy whenever I pass by, but that's only been on weekends, so it may be quieter during the week. On a weekend afternoon, though, you will not find quiet here. They have all the standard drinks you expect at a coffee shop and lots of fun specials, but the food selection is a little limited. I think they normally serve soup Mon-Sat but they were out when I got there. I got a bagel with schmear, a zebra (chocolate crinkle) cookie, and one of the February specials called "Opposites Attract" which was a raspberry chai latte. Everything I got was pretty good, especially the fresh, chewy zebra cookie. They warmed it up which made it just a little gooey. The raspberry chai was an interesting combination. i wasn't completely sold on the raspberry - I didn't dislike it but probably wouldn't get it again - but I think I liked the chai itself. The baristas and bookstore staff were all welcoming, and the vibe is very inclusive. I've come in and looked around the store a few times, and the staff seems approachable if you need anything but will leave you alone if you're just browsing.

The baristas are always friendly. The place is spacious with a good amount of seating, but it can sometimes be hard to find a good seat inside because, as you would expect, students come to study/work and stay for a long time. I love their baked goods - they have interesting and unique offerings and everything tastes wholesome. Besides their Soma-made bakes (muffins, loaves, scones, dessert bars, cookies, and more), the bagels (I think from Gables) and Piccolo Dolci pastries are great, but they have these two muffins that are from a different supplier that I didn't think were of very good quality - I recommend avoiding the chocolate cheesecake muffin and banana nut muffin. I think the veggie/cheese sandwich is decent. It's just deli cheese slices with lettuce, cucumber, pesto, and mayo, but the bread is good and if you want something simple it's surprisingly satisfying. The coffee is pretty good. I am a decaf drinker so I appreciate that they have both decaf coffee and decaf espresso. They have a really good loose leaf tea selection and the teas are legit. Between the variety and quality it's the best tea selection I've found at a coffee shop in Bloomington. The quality of the chai and matcha are less impressive. I feel like there's a slight artificial flavour to the matcha, but to be fair, I've only tried it with flavour added, so maybe it's better unsweetened. When I asked for half sweet, that was better than regular sweetness. Both are still better than Starbucks. But I'd definitely recommend the loose leaf tea lattes over the chai/matcha. As mentioned in my previous review, some things are self-serve. It turns out they do have glasses and mugs available if you ask, but if you don't ask for dine-in, the default is disposable cups. Brewed coffee is self-serve, with your choice of (usually) two regular roasts and one decaf. If you want a toasted bagel, you have to slice and toast it yourself in the toaster on the condiment table. It seems like you sort of have to know what to order here, but as I'm learning what's good, I really appreciate the offerings that are good, the comfortable unpretentious environment, and long hours at Soma.
