Nice coffee shop. This was my second visit. The coffee shop has table if you want to work or study. It is pretty quiet. The pastries choices are limited. I ordered latte, and it was good. It's not too hot. The pastries are also good. The workers were friendly.

so disappointed with my cake order. paid 50$ for a 9" inch round lemon cake with lemon frosting and requested yellow frosting with yellow roses and orange roses. I received a cake with white frosting, not a single decoration that represented a rose and green leaves to add to the color. it was such a simple order. The taste was a bit off for lemon as well. I am so disappointed with the bakery and baker's lack of skills. I would not recommend and I will not return.

If I could have went to Crumble everyday of my Bloomington stretch I would have. I feel like I'm a bit of an authority on coffee shops since I'm at one almost everyday. Make no mistake this is a solid choice in Bloomington. The campus location is close to Indiana University grounds and offer off street meter and garage parking. The walk up was debris free, however way too much road debris from a recent patch was everywhere. Also the concrete was spalling horribly. Usually this is from using rock salt in the winter and not clearing off. The shop has a cool open air vibe with tons of dark wood and communal table as the centerpiece. Tables and floor were clean on both of my visits. A group of students were gathered in a corner studying. I imagine this is a huge student study shop. Ordering is at the counter by iPad and tips can be applied. Large menu boards on the wall provide your direction. The bakery items are beautifully displayed so you can see exactly what your getting. They make them in house and from my experience you better not skip. I enjoyed vanilla mochas and quiche on both of my visits. The spinach quiche was my favorite. It was fresh and light and so scrumptious! The mochas were among the best I've ever had with pro latte art. Quality beans obviously, but I did not get their roaster. My friend got a cranberry scone that he loved. It appears the flavors and selections rotate, but the basic items remain the same. Checkout was flawless on both visits. However on neither occasion was there any type of get to know me, or even a smile. I did chat with a male barista to thank him. 4.5, rounding down. They can work on the service aspect at the counter. Products are a full 5.

Remaining open during covid. Great place to come and get some studying done. Delicious pastries and quiche. Also enjoyed an iced latte.

    Tasty pistachio latte! (Seasonal)

I know I gave the other Crumble location 3 stars, but i'm upgrading this location to 4 stars for the following... I visited this location on a Monday because Inkwell was closed. +1 already! I was immediately enticed by the new seasonal drink - the pistachio latte (homemade pistachio syrup, almond, freshly squeezed lemon). This latte was LOVELY. It reminds me of what Indy's Milktooth's pistachio-based drink HOPED to be. I really appreciate a strong pistachio flavor because I know how many little fellas have to be squeezed in order to develop a rich flavor for a subtle pistachio. Also, the lemon was a surprisingly nice touch. I liked the acid it added. Props to the barista or owner...or whoever made this beautiful seasonal drink! Perfect for spring. +2! I also sat for about an hour just reading a book. It's a more spacious area and seemed lively but not distractingly so. Also, at some point, my jacket slipped off the armchair back & the barista was nice enough to alert me & pick it up for me. Gotta love that Midwest genuine niceness vibe. +1 again! 82/365

I went to meet someone there for coffee. The meet up did not occur but I had the opportunity to try out a local coffee shop. The shop itself is conveniently located in a bank building with a parking garage and parking spots just for Crumble bakery. I am guessing that many people who frequent there are younger than retired. The staff was great and the coffee as well as pie were great. This coffee shop is well worth the visit.

Visiting my daughter and son-in-law for a few days and landed here - partially because my son-in-law works here and partially because I would have picked it anyway. Nice spot. Good atmosphere, nice coffee and tea selection as well as some savory and sweet accompaniments, nice music selection, plenty of places to plug in and work or surf - or both. Especially like the street view table/bar. Great spot for daydreaming and getting lost in thought....

This morning I came in and got the Bacon Quiche and Caramel Macchiato. Sheathed you are looking for a sit down coffee place, or a quick and easy togo option, this is the choice for you. I will be coming again.

We stopped in this coffee shop late in the afternoon to grab a beverage to warm us up. They have some metered street parking across College Avenue which we grabbed. The shop has a large order counter/bar and several folks working behind there. The shop is laid out with several very large communal tables and a handful of smaller ones. There is also a small wall mounted work area near the door way. The chairs are generally stool type without backs, but some of the smaller tables are a little more comfy. I went with a plain black drip coffee which was served at a drinkable temperature (Yeah!) The blend was on the strong side with a bit more bitterness than I prefer, but still full flavored. My wife got a hot chocolate that was large and yummy. She thought it was a little on the cool side, probably due to all the whipped cream added on top. If they could maintain the ratio of flavors while making it a bit hotter, she would have given it a 5 star rating. Nice folks working, generally good flavors, seems like a good place to stop by. Note that they do expect you to bus your own space when finished. They have a bin for cups near the counter and a trash bin for napkins, etc near that. Review #2115

I know they were experimenting with some…read moreitems with dairy a while ago but I did not notice any non-vegan items while I was there, so not sure if that's still a thing. Anyway, it is a little out of the way. It's walkable from downtown but not really in the downtown core. Pretty quiet when I was there, but the atmosphere felt approachable. Some of the chairs were like school desk chairs (adult-sized, of course) that I haven't seen since I was in primary school which was kind of funny. The guy at the counter was cheerful and friendly. They looked like they had run out of some of the hot savory items by Saturday mid-afternoon, but there was still a wide variety of sweets. I believe the current owners are Indian, and you see some of those flavours featured. I got: Samosa handpie: Good, not mind-blowing, but good. Nice flavours. If you like a flaky crust, this is not it, but I liked the rustic pastry crust. Pistachio cardamom donut: Loved it. Before I moved to Bloomington, there were a few bakeries that offered vegan-GF cake donuts that I loved, and this was the first thing I've gotten here that reminded me of that. Pleasant texture and strong cardamom flavour, not too sweet. I think these are baked donuts, so they're a little different from regular fried donuts, but in a good way IMO. Rose dream latte: Milk with rose syrup topped with coconut whip and nuts, no espresso. Tasted great, but more of a dessert drink than I was expecting. The coconut whip was quite thick. The concept could probably use some refinement, because the whip was too thick and rigid to drink without a straw, but the nut pieces were too big to go through a straw, and so I couldn't figure out the best way to drink it. From what I understand, there are some longtime fans of this place who feel like the quality has dropped since the most recent change in ownership, but as someone who had never been here before, I really had a good experience. I get why people would be upset when something changes, but if you are considering trying this place for the first time, I wouldn't be too put off by the negativity around the change in ownership. There's no other place specialized in vegan baking in Bloomington, so I think it's good to support what they are continuing to do here, and even though I am partial to vegan food I wouldn't say that if it wasn't also GOOD. They also had some refreshingly unique options for baked goods.

The owners, a Sikh family, gave us their cardamom donut for free. The samosa hand pies were out. I would rate it 4/5. The decor was nice, and the owners were friendly. We were told that the staff is limited, and the owners themselves are thinking of selling this location and hoping to restart it in Greenwood, where they currently live and actually drive down to Bloomington every day. The matcha latte was fine. Everything was fine but not great. The vegan chocolate chip cookie was good, but could've used more chocolate chips.

Each were very flavorful and the dough was perfect. I personally enjoyed the chicken arepa the most. We were both very pleased with our meals. The Venezuelan cheese however was not my favorite cheese ever.. so I might ask for it on the side so that it doesn't ruin your whole arepa/sandwich just in case you feel the same. The service was very accommodating and pleasant. The ambiance was clean and decorated very nicely. We will certainly be back for more!

The cookies and muffins and cinnamon roll just seem to melt in your mouth (I'm sure lots of butter is involved). They even have a very good vegan coffee cake! The drinks are not great and consistency is not the name of the game. Maybe the coffee is better than the tea, but the chai tastes more of sugar and cinnamon than tea, and the matcha was very murky, but maybe that's because I got the strawberry matcha and that affected the colour. It didn't taste bad but just didn't taste like quality matcha. They have decent teabags, but the brand and selection varies and is not what's listed on the menu board. They can do a tea latte but don't always have teas that work well with milk. I like the iced tea they make during the summer better than the hot tea. They sometimes have bubble tea, which is made with a machine and is decent (as far as artificially flavoured tea goes) but very sweet. It's a complete gamble as to whether or not the bubble tea machine will actually be on at any given time. I tried to get it in the evening once but was told they usually power it down around 6, so came back around 4:30 next time, but it was off again. I finally did manage to get bubble tea a few times around lunch time and in the morning, but there have also been days where they don't turn it on at all despite displaying the posters for it. Tapioca pearls are on the menu but they seemingly never have them, only the popping pearls. The baristas are students and are sometimes friendly, sometimes not. I would guess there's a combination of high turnover and poor training because some of them just seem very confused. They usually do okay at keeping the line moving though. I come for the baked goods, and just get a drink while I'm at it because I don't want to wait in another line at Starbucks even though I actually think Starbucks makes slightly better drinks.
