Instead, the project took over a year and was $60k over budget. Some of this was due to unforeseen circumstances (like unexpected electrical rewiring to fix existing issues). Most of this, however, was due to Kyle being unresponsive to both myself as the homeowner and his contractors who told me time and time again that they were unable to reach Kyle for time-sensitive decisions and instructions. Additionally, when his team made mistakes (which they did frequently due to a lack of supervision or the wrong plans on set or a litany of other reasons), Kyle charged me for the time and materials required to redo the work. Not only was the project poorly managed and way over budget and timeline, the quality of the work was so poor that I am still dealing with broken plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues that continue to cost me thousands of dollars to repair. All the faucets leak. The doors don't close properly. The floor is so unlevel (despite being an addition) that furniture doesn't fit properly. The HVAC vent in my son's room was covered up so there's no airflow coming into the bedroom. After a plumbing emergency the weekend I moved back in during which raw sewage came up through my new shower because his team had left the test plug in (!!!), Kyle was nowhere to be found. He didn't respond to calls, emails, texts, or messages in WhatsApp and Signal, and I ended up being on the hook for the nearly $3k plumbing bill to repair his team's mistake. Once I finally heard back from him on Monday, he and I agreed to part ways and terminate the relationship. I clearly laid out for him the conditions of the termination in writing, and he accepted. I have not heard from him again and, true to my word, have contracted directly with professionals that are repairing his team's work at my expense. Now I am receiving Intent to Lien notices from the subcontractors that he neglected to pay for work he contracted with them directly. He and I did not have a contract, and there are no grounds under which I am responsible for these payments. Kyle created pull requests for work completed, and I paid them same day. Every single time. Apparently, KYLE HAS NOT PAID HIS SUBS and they are now coming after me. Fortunately, I have documentation dating back to the beginning of the project that demonstrates Kyle's negligence as a General Contractor, as well as the documentation from all of the professionals I've had to contract since we terminated the relationship that are willing to go on record to describe the egregious mistakes and lack of craftsmanship in everything from the framing to the plumbing to the finish out, so I'm hopeful that I will not continue to be held responsible for Kyle's lack of attention and oversight.

Not only that, but on a personal level Kyle is a very kind and easy to work with person, and is always willing to go through extra mile to ensure his clients are 100% satisfied. It is not July 1st and they have NOT completed the work. They have not been returning calls, texts or emails, and when we did manage to get through to them from a different phone number they claimed they had been having issues with their phones and promised to send someone out. They sent someone out once, and they did not finish the job. We still don't have a sun shade, they were supposed to replace some janky looking lattice work under the bottom step, and the work they did needed repairs that they did not finish. I am super disappointed with them and do not recommend.

They wouldn't fix anything (our kitchen sink faucet would drip wasting water, they had someone come out to patch a settling crack in the drywall and never had someone come out and paint, the back door and front door never sealed properly and the back door handle was broken the screws on the handle where not screwed into anything, and the fence was in horrible condition, not to mention numerous problems with the next door tenant) when asked to address the issues we where told "oh we will fix that when you leave we don't want to do that while you're still here". We left the house cleaner then when we found it and they decided to nickel and dime us for repairs that where not our damage (it was the previous tenants, who also confirmed in writing that they caused the damage, Mitchel and his wife Lori where less then professional when handling it, to the point we where threatened by the wife Lori) If you are trying to rent a house they manage I implore you do think again and not make the mistake we did. We are so glad we found out about them. Neil Hayes came out and gave us a very reasonable quote. He showed up exactly when he said he would and they did a fantastic job chip sealing our drive. It looks great, better than others I've seen in the area. They did the job in a day and a half and cleaned up afterwards. We would use them again and highly recommend Neil and his company.

Steve Joyce AKA Fire and Ice has been taking great care of our family since the 2000s…read more Even though he always did what he said he would do, at the agreed price, and was able to get to us much faster than most, we were stupid and got another AC guy out that was affiliated with a home warranty we bought (which was another stupid decision.) The other AC guy came out and told us we need a $1,500 part installed. It seemed sketch. I had Steve out and he quickly told us that AC units don't have recapitulator valves so it didn't need replacing. (Just kidding - I don't recall the name of the part.) We went back to Fire and Ice and never looked back. We have referred Steve to many friends and family and they have not been let down. Call Fire and Ice - you won't be sorry.

No one came Monday, I called Tuesday to see if they could come out, and they explained they were really backed up but would try to come out. Never heard back. Called Thursday and talked to Stacy again who said they would try to come out Thursday or even Friday if they could. STILL never heard back or had anyone reach out or show up. I am sure they do good business, but after four phone calls, and two texts sending our contact information, and no follow up, that's not a good start to a business relationship.
