Great little shop. Staff is super helpful too. Awesome selection of back issues, new issues, in box and out of box figures as well and the condition on everything is nice as well! Just happened to drive by while on a road trip and found a couple of awesome books. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely be sure to stop here. It's a good comic book store with a decent selection and helpful staff, - BUT - I don't like that they bait and switch you on comic book prices. I was charged double the sticker price on the comic since he price matched with eBay. If I wanted to buy on eBay, I would just go online. If prices had gone down on eBay, would he give me the lower price? I doubt it. Anyway, I almost put the book back, but decided to buy it. I don't like that they price adjusted their own sticker price as I was ringing out. They lost on all future sales as I won't be going back there. Hopefully, the shop owners read this and realize what is going on and change their policy because although my experience wasn't great, it's not a bad store overall. read more

Before I came here, I'd go to Larry's which Opens and Closes whenever they feel like it. The staff here always welcomes you and is more than willing to answer questions. I've asked them multiple questions in person and online. Definitely making use of they subscription system to get ahold of comics. read more

One of two Comic shops I now visit regularly. I tend to bounce between Massachusetts and Rhode Island so when I'm in the area, I always find time to stop in because the service here is exceptional! The shop itself is great because of the great selection of cards and comics and the store owners only make it better! They're knowledgeable about their products and are very friendly! The prices are also unbeatable!! This is a great store for kids too. It's a very kid friendly environment; I brought my 11 year old cousin here to buy some cards and toys and even he couldn't stop talking about how great the store was and how he wants to go back. Even if you only visit once, it's worth the stop by. It'll bring you back to childhood and you're guaranteed a great experience! read more

Love this local shop with a huge selection. Very friendly staff who don't nerd-shame and are helpful when you're looking for something. They are awesome dealing with my kids and make them feel welcome every time we visit (which is often). I don't play tabletop games but they seem like they've got a pretty big presence here in the community. Some nights the lot is packed for their events and there's barely a spot to park. Worth a stop and a repeat stop if you like comics and comic memorabilia. read more

I stumbled upon Command D one day when I attempted to go to Larry's Comics. I couldn't find anywhere to park, and didn't find a chance to turn around before driving by this establishment. George, the owner, is very nice! I have set up multiple subscriptions through him. The shops itself is a little drabby, but it's got a parking lot (a huge plus for me)! There is a collection of popular new releases by the big names. Unfortunately they don't carry as many independents, which is what I mostly read, so I have had to set up subscriptions for all of those. That's not a big deal, but at the time I visited the shop, I wasn't able to get the items I was looking for, and had to wait to regularly receive them with the next issues. Also, the hours are a bit limited. They are opened all day on Wednesday, the most important day, and then just the afternoon for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They close by 7, which I think is a little early, especially for someone who commutes from the city. I do want to stress, though, how easy going and kind George is. I think he has a great relationship with so many of his customers, which is why he's able to take in and keep many subscribers. If you want to subscribe to the comics, have them waiting for you, and pick them up at your convenience (as opposed to shopping and hoping to find them on Wednesday) Command D is the place for you! read more

This place is great! I traveled from Egypt to the small town of Lowell, MA to attend a conference. Since Egypt does not have a huge comic book fan base, many things are hard to come by. I searched for comic book stores in the area and although Lowell is a small town, I cam across this gem of a place. The place itself is hospitable and welcoming as soon as you arrive and see the paintings of comic book heroes on the walls of the house that houses the store. One of the owners, Tony, who happened to be there both times, was extremely helpful. I don't know much about comics and so I was communicating via FB messenger with my friend in Egypt about what she wanted. He was very patient and helpful and took down a lot of stuff for me from the top shelves as well as the back. He also let me use his computer to talk to my friend and take photos of the merchandise so she could make a choice. I didn't buy anything the first day but he gave me a ride back to my hotel rather than letting me wait for a cab, and he had no problem that he didn't make the sale that day. I happily went back the next day and bought a vintage Darth Vader helmet (he installed batteries for me in the voice box so we could make sure it was working), a 1970s Vader action figure, an Optimus Prime figure and a set of Batman and Hulk issues I know we don't have back home. He even threw in 2 cool posters and a couple of other issues for free. A friend of mine who was with me in the shop mentioned that she had some cousins who were crazy about comics and he also gave her some posters for free to take back home. After buying the stuff, Tony drove us back to our hotel again. This is a great place and Tony lets you browse at your own pace without pressuring you to buy something or hovering over your head. There is also a parking lot outside which is great if you come by car (which you probably will because the place is not within reasonable walking distance from anywhere). I walked to the store both times though, as it was my first time in Lowell and only my second time in America and the scenery and nature of Lowell were quite nice. I could not leave the place without taking a photo with Tony. The place has all the new issues as well as a ton of back issues and you are bound to find a gem or two or three that will make you or a friend back home happy. Needless to say, my friend absolutely loved the stuff I got, particularly the Vader helmet. Unlike other stores I visited in America (usually chains), this place has a lot of collectibles you probably won't find elsewhere. Tony also offered to ship stuff to Egypt if I wanted and would only charge whatever the shipping company takes without anything extra. Highly recommended! Thanks Tony! read more

Went in for the first time after years of driving by this place. Larry's was always my place to go for comics. Then Larry's closed their current location, so I decided to give this place a try. All i gotta say is... what have I been missing? This place has such a great vibe to it. The cashier was very welcoming and helpful. The wall art on the outside of the building was an amazing hook, and the stuff for sale inside was plentiful. I ben to this store a few times .A great selection of back issues. It is to cramp in the store. Not lot of room to get around. Not organized and no wall comics to choose from. Boxes on top of boxes you have to move boxes around to get what your looking for. The owner is very nice guy. All the back and currant issues comics are way over priced. read more

Went in today and tried to buy a piece that was on their shelves and clearly marked with a Command D price tag for $19.95. I get to the register and they say "oh that price tag is 10 years old, it's worth a lot more money now, let me look up a new price for you on eBay." ?! Really?! Why go to a brick and mortar store to pay eBay prices when you can save the trip and have a better selection? This place is cluttered, dusty and smelly and these guys like to play pricing games. I'll take my business to Comicazi in Somerville from now on. read more

The man behind the counter was very friendly and asked me a couple times if he could help me find anything. I appreciated the offer. I also felt like he wasn't "watching me like a hawk" either, which was nice. They have all the new comics, and a decent selection of back issues. A large selection of loose action figures. The atmosphere does remind me of somebody's basement. read more

I found the place yrs ago,when i just went for a drive.The name was different and there was an old man running the place.The one fellow who was there is very friendly and helpful if you want that.He lets you browse the store,which has at least two sections.The place is rather homey,with handmade pine displays.Old and new comics,lots of collectible figures in and out of packaging.The "Kamandi" mural and yellow/black stencilled name outside will definately help you find the place! This is an old Jack Kirby character that he later redid as "Thundarr the Barbarian" for TV. read more
