Stopped in today and picked up the last 5 packs of Topps series 2 hobby baseball and this happened.

While I was talking it over with Tina (my mother) she said to me, "You know how you complain about being trapped in places [like TJ Maxx] as a child? How you feel about that is how I feel about *this* place." She was talking about The Comic Store. To say that this is my favorite store in Nashua would probably be an understatement. Not only do I remember them before they moved into their current location, I remember the annex location on Amherst St. I used to go here once a week since I was about 12. I probably bought every 'Buffy' piece of merchandise they ever sold in the first 3 years of the show. A benefit of being home at Christmas is that I know they have an annual sale. It used to be just half off back issues - it's still that, but it's been expanded for trades/graphic novels, action figures/statues, and possibly even stuff I'm not even remembering. It's worth going over the holidays. I will agree with James M's review of the guys who work here can be difficult. One guy, a dude named Dwayne, is a super douche. He tried to NOT give me some of my discount. Another guy who works there, and who has worked there for pretty much my entire life, stood up for me. He's awesome and I wish I knew his name to give him kudos here. But Dwayne? I was shopping here long before he started working there, and he's a 6" foot tall jerk. Since I was the only one in the shop for most of my stay, he probably should have been a lot nicer to me. And for the fact that, you know, I was a paying customer and all. I wasn't looking for much, but it's a GREAT place for out-of-print stuff and hard to find trades. This happened to me last time I was in Nashua, too. Because not a lot of people are comic book nerds in my hometown, it makes this place a mecca to those of us who are. It's actually worth the trip to Nashua just to go to this store.

This is all we got plus two bases from this store and lugged it in a big box the employee/owner gave us

Absolutely amazing store with friendly workers, they have the most updated and most complete gundam collection I have ever seen. From SD to PG gundams, they have everything. Things from more than 5 years ago to a gundam that came out a few months ago is here. I was buying the MG Astray Red and Blue frame and was about to pay, then I saw the Astray Green frame that just came back through Bandai's gundam cycle behind the counter and HAD to pick it up immediately. Not only are there gundams there are many comic books and video game figurines and statues. Drove all the way from south of Massachusetts just for this store. Definitely worth the time and money. Wish I took some pics but we spent $351 there and $218 was mine...whoops XD

It's a Gundam Mecca! Super friendly staff and the owner is extremely nice and very helpful. Well worth making the trip from Boston. If you are new to Gunpla it can be a bit overwhelming...because the inventory is epic!

    Comics, books and statues galore!

It's always been super-easy to update my subscription and I love discovering all the pop culture gems when I visit: used records, CDs, DVDs, Disneyana, games, toys, and of course comic books! All at reasonable prices. I love the bins of action figures; you never know who you'll find! Free handicapped parking can be found in the metered lot behind the shop on Chestnut Street. There are also several handicapped spots on Moody Street. Shop is handicapped accessible, though it is a pinch cramped in the back. I've been able to maneuver with a rollator and cane. If you need help navigating or reaching anything, the owner is happy to help.

As a Disney nerd I was very excited to scan their vast amount of Disney collectibles. Statues, pins, books, comics, stuffed animals, die cast cars, you name it they have it. As soon as you walk in you can smell the paper, books and comics from wall to wall. The gentleman that works there was extremely nice and helpful with trying to find certain comics my oldest was looking for. It definitely let me walk down memory lane with some of the old comics they have available. The pricing is reasonable too, if I didn't budge well I'd leave that store with empty pockets but with a treasure trove of goodies.

It's the kind of place where you want to take your time & stare at every display. If you love comics, collectibles, or just stuff that makes your inner nerd scream w/ joy, this store is an absolutely must see! Pricing went up from the last time I was here but honestly what hasn't. Prepare to spend a good amount of bucks b/c once you see everything it's hard to leave empty-handed. Visiting here has officially become a tradition for me every year when I'm in Salem & I def can't wait to go back!

The walls are crammed with figurines, masks, and memorabilia--some genuinely cool, some you could find online for half the price if you can spell "Amazon." But hey, Salem tax is real, and apparently nostalgia comes with a surcharge. The store itself is brightly lit, which sort of kills the "spooky collectible" vibe and makes it feel more like you're shopping in a dentist's waiting room with masks on the wall. Window displays draw you in, but once inside it's a quick lap and you're done. Definitely not a place you'll get lost digging through hidden treasures--unless you consider Funko Pops a rare find. The staff? Friendly, technically. If they talk to you at all. Some days you'll get a warm hello, other days you'll wonder if you accidentally broke into the store after hours. Overall: it's fine. Quick in, quick out, nothing offensive but nothing remarkable. Three stars for existing, charging too much, and reminding me that in Salem, even plastic monsters cost a premium.
