There were a lot of back issues (great!) and a lot of comics that had been graded. The prices were on the back of the bag and you weren't allowed to tough them to check the price. Annoying. Hubbo found it annoying enough to make him not buy anything, but he's a tad dramatic. Also the grading system was pretty inconsistent. I'd definitely come back. I spotted Hall of Comics on the road and decided to stop in on my way back. The shop was clean and very well organized. I bought a few books and when I was checking out Jake asked me if there was anything I was looking for that I couldn't find. I told him I was looking for a certain book, and he walked me over to the section and double checked, even though he told me it was not in stock at the moment. I had a great experience here, and I would highly recommended this shop to anyone interested in comics. read more

Walked into "The Hall of Comics" for the second time yesterday and was still just as impressed as my first time in. Met Jake the first time and John on this trip. Great guys who care all about helping you find what you're looking for. Picked up some great, latest issues. John also threw in promo cards for upcoming books, a business card and the latest Comics Shop News (why doesn't every store do that anymore?!). After finding out I'm a die hard Ironman fan, he pulled some high end books for me too that are set aside and I was asked to make a list of what I'm looking for so they can let me know if they have it or come across it. The shop is fantastic! The pictures don't do it justice. It's clean, organized, professional looking and a place to bring kids, newbies to comics or even (dare I say it) women too. No Simpson's Comic Book guy crap here. The selection of current, back issue, low dollar, high dollar, high end and graded books is awesome and a great toy selection as well. Adult run by warm, genuinely nice guys who love to share the art and stories of comics. If I owned a comic shop, it would look like this. read more

I felt terrible for cheating on my comic book store, but this store just has all the books in all the right places! And I can't even use the excuse, "I was drunk" or "It's a one time thing" since I'm planning on going back there in the early future. As soon as I stepped in it was clean, open, and very welcoming. I was greeted by John, who was great in showing me his currenty stock and stuff on order. There were a ton of the Funko Pop figures and figured displayed in display cases. There were trades and monthly issues. There were rares and bargin bins. What I really liked is all the rare comics they had on display in the open. I'm a collector so seeing them up close was a great treat. Instead of have to ask the guy behind a coutner every 2 seconds to look at something, you an look at the cover and decide to go forward. If you want ot go forward, jsut ask one of the clerks, John or Jake, to grab it for you. Techincally you can grab it, but it's not nice to touch, so I was told once in Vegas. Anyhow, after browsing the walls for a bit I hit the bins. I found a few books I was interested in but it was missing on book in the series. John insisted he has it and held onto the books for me until he get the missing book. Which was great since nowadays, people jsut tell you to go look online to get the missing pieces. Overall, a great experience. Will definitely come back again. Well, at least once more for that set they're holding. read more

My wife and I have become patrons of this store. Its huge, well-organized, and we know the staff there pretty well now! They have everything from the really old comics to a ton of new releases and if they don't have it, chances are that they can get it for you. I've had a subscription service with them for about a year now and Jake comes out and hands me my books every time I show up at the store. We always find something good here and its definitely a kid-friendly store... which you think would be a given with what they sell, but you'd be surprised sometimes. They have all kinds of events, including artist signings and holiday parties, so there is always something going on. Keep up the good work guys! See you soon! read more

I often visit other shops if they're closer to me or if I want to quickly get something to read, but the only shop that's kept my pull list AND loyalty for years has been this one. Clean, Organized, and fun store. The hall is a great comic shop that has everything I need and if they don't have something then I can easily ask and they'll try their to get it. The store has this nice 1 dollar first issue thing that I like and use to get into new comics. They also have a great selection of old comics, from the 70's and 80's. Just stopped in to see what they had to offer and was immediately impressed. Every staff member greeted me, introduced themselves and were incredibly friendly. They were very knowledgeable about everything. The staff made some great suggestions based on my specific tastes, which included themes, artists, and personal favorites from when I was just a young lad. I took their word and was totally satisfied. I'm gonna go back and ask them for some more suggestions, as I felt they hit the nail right on the head. The store itself is pretty awesome. Great collection of vintage books, collected editions, graphic novels, and of course the current crop of comics. It's clean, organized, and just fun to look around. Made my first stop at The Hall this weekend. All I can say is, its an amazing place! Clean, bright and well organized. The owners, Johnny and Jake were both working ( on a Sunday NO less!), and their obvious pride of ownership was great to see. Truth be told, I know nothing about comics etc. But I do know quite a bit about retail, customer service and pride of ownership. The Hall of Comics could teach a master's program on those subjects! Every time I step foot in the store, the guys not only remember me by first name, but are ready with personalized recommendations; they will make you feel like you have found your tribe every time. I have brought several friends with me now on trips, and everyone agrees that these guys not only love comics, but love the comic community as well. The in depth conversations alone on various fandoms that fly between employees and other customers make it worth the drive whether you're five minutes away or two hours. We stopped here a few days ago on vacation. We were greeted by two friendly gentlemen who assisted us when we needed it, but otherwise stayed away and let us browse at our leisure. They were both very knowledgeable and worked together to suggest some comics my partner might like. The store is extremely clean. Everything is clearly labeled and organized. Finding back issues is a breeze and it's nice to see the rarest comics being displayed even if one can't touch them. Of all the comic book shops I've been to, this is one of the most professional looking. One minor negative is that while the current "all ages" section is pretty good, the "all ages" back issues selection is not very large. For example, I was able to find a few of the relatively common Disney/Gladstone back issues I wanted, but not very many. This isn't a complaint that justifies a lower rating as this is a common issue with comic book stores, but thought it was worth mentioning. The prices are great. I checked after we got back and every single back issue we purchased had been very reasonably priced. I can't recommend this place highly enough. It's what every comic book shop should strive to be. read more

I've been to Hall of Comics a few times now, and every visit has been a positive experience. The store is clean, well-organized, bright, and open. When I have been there, a TV played some sort of comic-related movie, show, or video, making the atmosphere pretty exciting, too. They have a lot of clearly labeled and well-organized back issues and collections, and their new comics are all displayed in a way that's easy to follow. The only thing that's really lacking is their graphic novel section, though one of the kind staff members told me during my most recent visit that they're actively looking to hear what they should look for when it comes to graphic novels and trade paperbacks. The staff is very friendly, accessible for a comic newbie like myself. They will suggest reads with enthusiasm and are genuinely interested in their customers' needs. I highly recommend this store for anybody who likes comics. I will drive out of the way to come here instead of other stores. read more

My boyfriend loves this place! The only down fall is the hours they are open (for anyone working in a retail environment the hours aren't the best over the weekends, closes at 8pm on Saturdays and 4pm on Sundays) My boyfriend could spend hours in this place. I'm not too much into comics however it's very organized and in a decent location right off route 9 with parking. Definitely recommend checking them out if your into comics! read more

I have been dragged to many a comic book store by my boyfriend. Most of them smelling like a wet basement and I don't even want to think the last time things were cleaned. But that is not the case at hall of comics. The store is clean and you can see the floors with plenty of space to walk around and not trip. They have plenty of selection of new and old comic books. After my second trip I was offered some comics from the one dollar wall to try out. They knew after telling them what movies I liked I'd be hooked. They were right. The following week I was back in there buying my first trade paper back and 3 more floppys to get me caught up in the story. I even grabbed a couple other titles to try them out. John and jake have made a comic book fan out of me! They are great! I walk in and they chat with me and make more suggestions in books I can try out. I've never so much as had someone help me at other comic book stores. Thank you for finding a new fun thing for me. And I can't wait for the next issue to come out so I can see what happens next in Alex and Ada!!! read more
