Crompton Collective is one of my favorite places to go so I had expectations that this place was going to be very lovely. There are some notable differences between Crompton and here. This shop is cute and has plenty of decor, knick knacks, jewelry and unique pieces to look at. It's a cozy little shop, instead of a massive floor separated by different vendors. There are also many unique pieces and decor pieces, not much in the way of antiques or furniture of that sort. The shop is small but well decorated. I took multiple laps and still kept spotting items that i had not seen previous times. It is a nice addition to the shops and stores that now fill Main st in Hudson. I personally did not interact with employees that day because it was busy and there were ample customers with questions and gifts to purchase. I'll be sure to visit again, as there were plenty of little items I wanted to buy that day.

As a gifter, I don't fully understand how I didn't know about this place before, but I'm so glad I do now. I went for a family project recently when closer craft shops didn't have what we needed. There's an abundance of arts and crafts supplies here, housed in two interconnected basement rooms, along with an impressive paper and picture frame selection (among other items) on the first floor. The atmosphere is one of a kind--more like an arts-and-crafts boutique curated by the owner, with items you won't easily find together elsewhere. Because of the sheer breadth, some categories (like fabrics, for example) have a smaller variety, which is just an observation, not a critique. Ribbons are unrivaled. If you don't have time to wander, ask--the best part of our experience was the owner, Carol, and the staff (thank you, Lilly). They are wonderfully kind, patient, and creative, offering thoughtful, gentle advice for your projects and genuinely care about their customers. Tip: There's a parking lot in the back or bus 87 drops you off right in front, literally. Highly recommended local business.

Imagine this place was built just a few years after our country first began in 1776. It was formerly a General Store, School & Post Office. It was purchased & moved to this location by Henry Ford. Yes that Henry Ford of the Ford Motor Company. The foundation of the building was made from huge boulders dug up from the grounds, & the basement is supported by pillars made out of huge tree trunks. There is a secret located in the cellar. The stairs are hand carved from logs & the steps are joined together with wooden pegs. Mr. Ford had a way to detect burglars that predated burger alarms. What Henry did was to loosen the pegs in every third stair so they creaked. When someone stepped on them that would signal that a burglar was climbing the stairs. When I presented them at the register I asked the cashier if I could return them if they were wrong. "Of course!" she replied. They did not fit so I went back the next morning. I asked if she needed to see my credit card for the return. Oh, no, she says, we only give store credits. Honestly, I was stunned. Why, I asked, was I not told that when I asked about returning them? Her reply was that there were signs all over the store stating that returns were only for store credit. I had seen no signs. While making my purchase when I asked about returning the pants I assumed the cashier was being honest with me. I feel that not telling me their policy was a lie by omission. I stood there in shock and didn't know what to say. She just, hands on hips, stared at me in silence. I didn't know what to do. I finally said, Do something! (I was still basically in shock.) Her reply, "Whaddya want me to do?" I am an elderly woman not used to such treatment and was very hurt by the whole experience. She finally wrote me out a credit and I left. I do not intend to go back. I honestly feel that they need to be honest about TELLING customers about that policy. Especially a customer who SPECIFICALLY ASKS. I cannot recommend anyone to shop there. It's not worth giving business to a place that values customers so little.
