Fantastic comic book shop I've been going to since I was 11! The owner Jackie is a solid guy, and they always have something interesting to grab. Prices are exactly what they should be, and they can also try to special order anything they don't have that you want. Comics, manga, action figures, ect. This past weekend I stopped at this gem of a comic shop. Well stocked with a wide assortment of comic books, graphic novels (and my favorite) comics related magazines. There were boxes of coverless comics, a 3 dollar bin with some great stuff, dollar comics and sets. All at reasonable to bargain prices. I saw books and magazines that I had never seen before. When I find myself in the area, I must stop in to browse Bedrock. Easily one of the most affordable, friendly and organized shops in the area! There is something in every area you search, be it sets, back issues or even the $1 and 50 cent bins. The owner is a genuinely nice guy and his attitude makes the difference. This is a LONG overdue review, but I used to go here with a friend who had moved away whenever he would visit. He could only get back around every 4 or 5 months, so that was about how often we frequented Bedrock Comics. In spite of that, the owner remembered us both and greeted us like old friends every time we came in, even knowing us well enough to suggest any new stuff he had gotten in that might pique out individual interest. I'm not able to get to Natick very often, but make it a point to stop in whenever I can. You'd do very well to do the same. read more

It starts with the staff. Jack, Jim, and Matt are great guys and know their comics cold, backwards and forwards. You want an honest opinion on whether or not to pick up a new book? They'll give it to you! You want an impromptu comic book movie or TV show review? You got it! Service with a smile ALWAYS. They'll set comics aside for you if you can't make it to New Comic Wednesdays and they'll order a book for you if they don't have it. They even tracked down a back issue for me at a comic show when they couldn't order it. My little daughter loves coming to Bedrock with me. The staff are always welcoming to superheroes big and small! The store itself is jam-packed with comic-goodness. From this weeks stuff to vintage stuff, there are gems all over the place. Plus, they've got figurines, t-shirts, and all the stuff a collector could want! The nice thing is that, they've got stuff for those just getting into comics, kids, and hardcore independent fans. They've always got great deals on trades and bundled limited series. They have coupons for new issues too! There's a reason I swing by every weekend! Seriously though, these guys need capes. Came here with a friend on a random day and it was great. Dropped by just to see, but ended up dropping some money here. The staff knew their stock like their names. I walked in, looked at a fe things they had on the wall and there were a few obscure DC cross overs that got me thinking. It would be cool to get the a few sets of these since not many people have heard of "Superman versus Aliens" or "Batman versus Predator". I asked for "Superman versus Terminator". The staff dug through a few bin and Bam(!), there it was. I asked for more, and more and more boxes were dugged through and they just kept popping up. Each time, only taking a few seconds for them to locate the titles. I grabbed whatever they had and continued to browse. Even though they had a ton of stock, they were very organized. I could have spent another hour there, easy, just to browse through their walls, not even the bins. It was a great random visit and I got a great price on the books. read more

Disclaimer: I just opened Hub Comics in Union Square, Somerville. This shop is one of my inspirations. One day while visiting the shop, I realized that the customers in there were mostly female. This flipped a switch in my brain, and I took note of what the shop was like. Bedrock is the definition of a "friendly shop." The windows aren't pasted over with posters of half-naked women; instead, they're large and let people see in. Also, they generally leave the door open on nice days, and the floor is obviously vacuumed every day, unlike many man-cave comic shops. The staff is nice, and were very helpful with tips on opening my shop, by pointing me toward fixtures and giving a couple operating tips. Their selection didn't strike me as particularly good or bad, but they have a few boxes of well-organized back issues and a wall of comic sets in bags at reasonable prices, as well as some interesting "wall books." I wonder if they still have that Cerebus #1. Hmm. Great people, nice shop, and right next door is a candy shop that sells the most delicious pumpkin fudge ever. Great place to go! read more

Cool place packed with cool comics. The day we went in, they said they just bought a fortune worth of comics waiting to be sort out. But still took the time to chat with us and help my friend to look through boxes and find the comic sets he was looking for. Definitely the friendly, knowledgeable, talkative feel of a neighborhood comic shop. Kudos. read more

The guys at the front desk were really cool and friendly. The shop is small but it is jam packed every which direction. I love how there are so many comics already put together for you so you can buy them in bundles. They had some TP's for sale that I picked up that were rather hard to find for my collection so I was more than happy. I wish the store was a little closer past the walmart area as its hard to turn around when you pass their place to head back towards Boston. There also at certain times of the day is a lot of traffic down that part of route 9, so I dont come here as much as I would like to. Regardless its a really cool store, so check it out if you are in the area and heading further down route 9. read more

This is by far one of the best comic book stores in New England. The customer service, selection, pricing and atmosphere are all 6+ stars for me and the way it's laid out is easy to dig through. great comics great people and great finds me and my mom passes here when ever i go to the dentist me and last week when me and my went here after we got some clothes stitched up and when we went in i felt younger looking at the comics. i went looking around for some comics i might want and i looked at the simpsons comics ( yeah im one of those people ) i did talk to one of the workers and i said im a mad magazine reader and he showed me them and then i saw them , old star wars action figures and for $7 i got one of them and about 5 card holder sheet for my cards read more

I really do love this place. The staff treat you like they've known you for years... even if it's your first time. There is a huge selection all over the store... and when I say all over the store, I mean it. This place is wall to wall to wall to wall and then there are boxes all over the floor full of comics. One thing I will say is that it's a little cramped here. Be prepared to maneuver around the boxes and narrow spaces. I also like that they sell sets and collections that they assembled themselves. (Alpha Flight 1-60 for $20??? Yes please!!!) Honestly, my only gripe, and it's a minor one, is their lack of rarer comics. The more expensive comics are stacked on the shelf behind them and there really aren't that many. You have to ask to sift through them and honestly, I'm not too keen on that. As a collector of many antiquities... handling rare, expensive, and fragile things that I'm not going to purchase, in order to find something I might is not something I'm particularly thrilled about. That said, it really is a minor issue. I consider this place more of a treasure hunt than anything else as you never really know what you're going to find if you look hard enough. read more

For me this was the place that started it all. It was my first comic shop experience and has undoubtedly shaped the way I look at and judge all others. From the street it's hard to miss the giant mural of Superman and the Hulk that covers the entire store front, but because it's located along a busy highway and immediately after a bridge that blocks it from being seen until about 10 seconds before you need to turn it's easily missed when driving down route 9. The shop has an excellent current and new release section that runs the length of the store and has an adequate graphic novel and trade paperback selection. There is a great selection of action figures and other random paraphernalia and a decent back issue section. What truly stands out for me is a section I have yet to come across in any other comic shop to date. The back section of the store has an enormous area filled with entire comic story arcs grouped together and sold at the best prices I have seen. You might wonder why this would be important when you could just buy trade paperbacks, but there are a lot of arcs that haven't been published in paperback form. Some characters don't even have any trade paperbacks and the only way to get a hold of their story lines is to collect all of the individual comics. A section like this makes it much easier than going to about 15 different shops trying to track down all of the back issues. Owned and operated by the same guy since it was opened, his knowledge if far superior to practically any other shop I have ever walked into. This is the type of comic shop every town should have and is a definite stop on my list any time I pass through the area. read more

This is where we go for our comic books. The girls got their Sailor Moon and Teen Titan comics here when they were little, now the boys come here for their Marvel and DC comics. I came in the other day looking for new comics and came out with super heroes coloring and puzzle books for 50 cents to a dollar each. Someone was unloading their huge collection of stuff, and letting the rest of us comic buffs enjoy them. Great little neighborhood store among all the big box stores. read more

By far the most knowledgeable and professional guys I've ever come in contact with. Great selection. Always a fully stocked discount bins of 50 cent and $1 bargain books. I have passed by this store for years, and had never bothered to stop in. I was pleasantly surprised with the small store. It has a great array of comic books and a nice selection of graphic novels. There are nice shelves of action figures and a couple boxes of 1$ comics. They have a couple of rare back issues such as hulk 181. The owner and the staff are extremely nice and will gladly direct you to the comic that you're looking for. A great, nice, family friendly place. The store is bright and vibrant, and overall a nice place to be. I would definitely reccomend stopping in for some comics or just for the hospitality! read more

The owner is a really nice guy. The first time I discovered this place I wandered in on a day the store was closed. The owner happened to be in, the lights were on, and the door was unlocked. This is a great store, no lie. It's a very family-oriented business, and you can often see the owner's kids hanging around in the store. They have a great stock of comics, and a lot of older ones for ridiculously low prices. Next door is a wonderfully run candy store, which has a lot of good nostalgia candies. I really enjoy this place. It's a somewhat cramped place but only because it's filled with great comics. I've been there twice now. The first time, they had just gotten a huge load of new comics in so the place was a mess. Didn't like it much. But the second time, the place was neater and the staff was extremely friendly. They helped me find some great stuff. If you're looking to collect a certain run of comics, they have a lot of bundles of different series and events.
